  • Used Pacific Cycles Handy hand cycle.
The trike needed work when I bought it. All three tires were flat, the brakes didn't work, the seat back support was broken, and the shifter would not shift below third gear.
By the first day of working on the trike I had replaced one rim liner, tube, and tire. Had the other two tires aired up, adjusted the brake so it would work and got the shifter shifting almost down to first gear.
I'll try to finish up adjusting the shifter today.
I've contacted Pacific Cycles to see if they can sell me a new seat back support, if they can't, I'll fabricate a new one, it's a very simple part.
I also want to raise the seat an inch to make transfers a little easier.
I had a friend of mine try the trike out and other than shifting down to first gear and no seat back support the trike worked great.

I'm unable to get the shifter to work properly, plus the shift cable housing is in pretty bad shape so I have a new shifter, and cable housing ordered. I still need to tackle the broken seat back support.

2012? It's hardly been out of the box yet! Man I'm old...

I'm old too. Yeah, it appears to have had almost no use at all, it just sat and rotted for the better part of a dozen years. I'm hoping to get a ride in tonight after work, it's been raining non stop here for a week and the rain returns tomorrow for another week.

That is a 1984 Bluebird Minibird short bus with a side mounted hydraulic lift. Two of my friends and I use it for ham radio contesting. The inside is set up with a porta-john, a cooler, a propane stove, a propane heater, two bunks, and three small tables for setting up ham radio gear. There's a 32 foot crank up tower on the roof which we pivot upright for mounting antennas. The engine is a Chevy 350CI with a three speed automatic transmission, and Edelbrock four barrel intake with a 600CFM carburetor. My powerchair seat tilts back so when we use it for overnight contesting, I sleep in my chair. It's been a great bus.

@@JamesADoty That’s excellent. Sounds like you are having a blast. Will you do a tour of the bus?

@@IvyRosethebus Sure, though it's pretty utilitarian.
