  • This is an interview with Elizabeth an owner of a traditional Mongolian Ger (yurt). Elizabeth has been living in her yurt since early last fall through the rainy NW winter. Colin of SunTime Yurts went out to visit her to see how she had faired. Her ger is a 16ft 4wall multi color with a windowed double door. Check out more info about Mongolian gers @

I plan to guide two Chinese friends (from HK) to visit you next month. I am puzzled at your comment about the survival of residing in the yurt in your UA-cam. So I have a question for you: The difference of the climate and the surrounding of the kurt between Washington State and Mongolia is totally different, right? So is it obviously you reside in a convenience environment/surrounding while Mongolians over there survive coldest climate and limitation of food supply. Please reply us back soon to arrange a visit. Thanks

If you replace the stove with a pellet stove that holds 30 to 40 lbs of pellets the fire would last 12 to 18 hours on low between filings. please look them up . Very nice ger.

what kind of stove is that?

It looks like a Kimberly Wood stove. They're popular in RVs because they're efficient, but I think a larger stove would be better for her.

+Nomukabat Enjibat What do you mean "wrong"? It works fine does it not? That makes it "right" in any sensible book.
