    Es hermosisima!!! Quisiera vivir ahí! Pero tengo algunas preguntas: cómo hacen con el baño? Y con el agua corriente? Usan baño seco? Cómo se duchan y de dónde obtienen el agua? Gracias por sus respuestas.

    Why does it have to be up off the ground rather than set on level dirt ?

    They need to protect the wood underneath or that OSB will rot away in no time from just humidity.

    a rocket mass heater would be more efficient and cleaner admittedly. it can be run without the mass to create a heated floor and if one is willing to reuse a spot or the like they can leave some piping or some stones in the ground acting as piping so that one can just plug in a rocket mass heater without much effort using a shippable core.

    If you replace the stove with a pellet stove that holds 30 to 40 lbs of pellets the fire would last 12 to 18 hours on low between filings. please look them up . Very nice ger.

      Going out the roof provides more heat but is harder to put in, and take out.

    A good demonstration, but how well would the stove work in really cold weather (below zero F.)?

    • @suntimeyurts
      @suntimeyurts 9 років тому

      R C Nelson Hey RC that same winter we made this video we were in the single digits without any issues of being cold when the stove was going. Only time things were cold was early in the morning, but luckily a good kindling pile and dry wood next to the stove allows for a quick start up and a warm yurt for breakfast. Later on in the winter we had power so we had a little space heater come on at 4 am and turn off at 8am. Just enough to take the chill off. We also only have one layer of felt a second layer can be added. Mongolia regularly experiences -50 degree temperatures.

    • @mheermance
      @mheermance 3 роки тому

      It looks like a Kimberly Wood stove. They're popular in RVs because they're efficient, but I think a larger stove would be better for her.

    I plan to guide two Chinese friends (from HK) to visit you next month. I am puzzled at your comment about the survival of residing in the yurt in your UA-cam. So I have a question for you: The difference of the climate and the surrounding of the kurt between Washington State and Mongolia is totally different, right? So is it obviously you reside in a convenience environment/surrounding while Mongolians over there survive coldest climate and limitation of food supply. Please reply us back soon to arrange a visit. Thanks

    This is an amazing home. Just two questions, just how big can a SIP yurt be built? Can these be built lets say about 40 or 50 ft. wide with an upstairs loft? one 12x12 bath, two bed rooms and great room and utility room, if I'm not sounding ridiculous......

      I'd imagine that it's for waterproofing, which I think is not a traditional feature in yurts, since it doesn't really rain much in Mongolia.
