I’m happy you posted this video as my daughter she was born deaf but through multiple surgeries she’s regained about 80% hearing due to technology and medical advancements it’s amazing. But I recall when her ENT was surprised by how clear her speech was. She said my daughter didn’t sound like a deaf person and her speech was clear I really couldn’t understand what she meant. Now I get it. My daughter started to learn sign language ASL but since I was able to convince the doctor to do her ear surgery when she was 3 1/2 instead of at around 7 y/o we were able to teach her English instead. The Ear Surgery is usually done older when the child is more responsible because they can’t have any water going to their ears such as like taking a shower or swimming in the pool or things like that so around seven years old the child understands about ear plugs and stuff like that but I knew my daughter would understand not to put her head in the water or anything like that and she’s 4 1/2 and it’s been good. We put the sign language on the back burner since she was so far behind learning English but I want her to learn ASL also so she can help out the deaf community when she’s older because the doctor never thought she would recover so much of her hearing. It’s literally a miracle. I don’t know the exact name of her problem wrong with her ears but basically her eustachian tubes were broken and they were able to put artificial tubes in her ears that bypassed her broken ones amazing technology. She has to just keep getting them replaced until she is fully grown as the tubes get too small as she grows.
