Wet dull cold mid March, yep, here in S'ern Spain as well! Meh! I have to really tip toe around my orchids for the night as well. It can't be long now 🙏🥰

Looks like all your plants have made it through the winter 👍. As you know I have already uncovered my Musa basjoo, I like to life life on the edge haha 😂. To be fair, I find generally the frosts at this time of year tend to not really bother them, except for any newly emerging leaves, which will always look bad anyway. But I can understand why you leave yours wrapped up, especially with all the straw, it would be quite a hassle to take it off and put it back on again.

Yeah I think you'll be fine, yours looks unscathed plus they've got the brick wall offering some residual heat. And like, I say, we'd need a prolonged late frost to do any damage. My garden bin is full and I have about four bin's worth of eucalyptus to get rid off too, so the straw's going nowhere fast! 😂

My Musa Basjoo is doing the same as urz, pushing up against the underside of the tarp covering it. May uncover it to give it space to push out and if we get another cold snap I'll put some fleece over the stem. The 2 phoenix canariensis i have covered may well stay that way till end of the month tho, undecided on that one,as fronds still tied up with a waterproof shelter over the top to keep frost etc off. Fleece Wrapping removed a couple of weeks ago.

Only the odd small casualty for me it seems, lost a moas toes again, not gonna bother with them anymore.
Left a small americana out all winter unprotected and apart from a couple of lower leaves blackening off its been fine.
The real surprising one for me has been Opuntia Macrocentra, completely unprotected and looks completely untouched !

I have mine bananas unwrapped, still watching the weather forecast. With only a couple of days in the night 3 Celsius, i will put a bubble plastic wrap around it. Just to keep the trunk a bit of warm.
