    1. Every MH game introduces new systems, so even vets are learning the game, so hop in and learn together with us!
    2. MH community is super welcoming. Vets love to answer newbies questions in my experience 😅

    I bounced off of several of the earlier titles, but I always WANTED to love Monster Hunter. Worlds was the first entry to really give me what I was after. I’ve now put almost 2000 hours in to it and I still can’t say I’ve mastered it. The depth on offer in any Monster Hunter title is simply unrivaled in the industry.

    ABOSOLUTELY NOT TOO LATE! I'm actually thinking of making a video on this subject as well. This is an excellent time to get into Monster Hunter as you can probably "complete" a Monster Hunter Game or two before Monster Hunter Wilds releases. The skills from hunting transfer as well this is a series where YOU as a hunter get better not just your armor and weapons get better.

    It's never too late to start! I started with 4U, really got into World, and have been working my way backwards ever since then. Wilds looks like an amazing one to start with, there are a lot of legacy mechanics but it also looks like they are making the gameplay even more smooth and beginner friendly than ever. It also has the more slow and methodical gameplay that MH is classically known for. This community is always welcome to new hunters, happy hunting!

    As someone who started with World I’m not a veteran or anything but I cannot recommend this series enough. Wether you tried the old games and didn’t like them or have just now heard of Monster Hunter now’s as good a time as any to hop on. And with World being on home Consoles and Rise being portable there will hopefully be a game you can play. If you’re not sure just try it, just do, you won’t regret that decision. Unless you get caught in a 40min Cephadrome hunt of course. Jokes aside, it’s a seriously good series that I would recommend to almost anyone.

    My Monster Hunter journey started as a kid with Tri on the Wii. My older brother had it and when he brought it home from college I tried to figure out how to play it, having a good time but getting my youthful nature skill-checked by some of the game’s content.
    When Generations Ultimate came out on the Switch, I decided to give it another go, and I enjoyed what I played but didn’t dive too deep. Fast forward to Monster Hunter Rise and I’m all in. I love the game and find the core gameplay loop addictive, plus it’s a good “hang out with friends” or “listen to podcasts” game for me.
    Super excited to go all-in on Wilds, and I think the crossplay is going to do wonders for me and my friend group

    A few of my buddies actually started getting into MH w/ Iceborne recently because Wilds really got them excited so another friend of ours started a new character to journey with them and they're having a blast. I must say now is a really good time to do so since I'm sure a lot of people are probably doing the same so the game is very active right now. Even if you don't have friends to play w/, the community is very welcoming to new players and you can probably find hunting groups online fairly easily. Not to mention, solo is also very fun and you can go that route without really missing out. Highly recommend Iceborne since it offers the best transition into Wilds but Sunbreak is also really amazing despite the unwarranted hate by many.

    It's never too late and you can even start with whatever game you feel like. I started with Monster Hunter Tri and i liked the game so much I went onto wikis to learn more about the game which lead me to know that Tri was not the only Monster Hunter game out there, and Tri was not as complete compared to previous titles and that got me interested in the other weapons and monsters in different generations. At the time I couldn't play the other games because i was a child without money but I was still so interested about the other weapons and monsters that i always came back to the wikis read about them.
    After getting so far into Tri (up to Alatreon) I lost my game and save due to a flood which made me very sad but fast forward a few months later my brother was gifted a PSP from a friend and it came with Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and i immediately tried to play it. Playing MHFU didn't make me feel like playing an older game but rather a sequel to Tri. The game had older graphics but it had different monsters so everything felt new. I spent years on that game even when the PSP's analog controller broke from using the claw too much it didn't stop me, i found emulators to play the game just to finish all the content. After that i always came back to MHFU after every new monster hunter trailer up to MHGU because i didn't have other consoles. Even when i finished all the content for it I've always came back to it because i could always start the game over and play through it all with a different weapon.
    Then came the dawn of Monster Hunter World, because it was everywhere i had the chance to play it on my PS4. From the demo i knew that i had to get this game, The game was so advanced and fun i couldn't even compare them to MHFU and Tri. The game was so easy to pick up that even now when i have seen and tried all the other games i would always recommend World to other people trying to get into Monster Hunter for the first time because its the most user friendly.
    Also having friends makes all the games much more enjoyable, If you don't have one there is a whole community of hunters that is always welcoming to new players. My first encounters with multiplayer was with Tri and the people i had the chance of meeting there weren't even speaking my language but i still had fun with them. Happy hunting!

  • @theoaremevano3227
    @theoaremevano3227 2 дні тому

    Wilds is an excellent place to start, as the many weapons have gotten tune-ups and reorganized movesets, meaning even veterans will be learning the new mechanics right alongside the new players. It's also a fully cross-platform game, meaning everyone gets to play together.
    The way the gear RNG works is that each monster has a full suit of armor you can craft and a few weapons. Not all weapon types get a weapon for every monster, but chances are, if the last new monster you hunted didn't have your weapon, the next one probably will. The kill/capture option also changes which parts you're more likely to get on top of any quest rewards, and breaking specific parts on the monster or other specific actions can sometimes be a factor too. (For example, the Zinogre has a type of electric bug that likes to hang out on its back, and when it's charged with lightning and you knock it down, you actually have the option to walk over and pluck the bugs off its spines.)
    It's pretty fun and beneficial to get into a second or third weapon type later on, since you're likely to pick up some really nice items you're not using for your current weapon/armor set, and find an opportunity to make something really cool for a weapon type you haven't used yet. From then on, you have even more options for cool things you can make, even if your main weapon doesn't have anything new to go for at the moment.
    Some extra notes: Don't worry about Hunter Ranks that are insanely high while you're at a low rank. Low hunter ranks tend to be numerically locked to your 'main storyline' progress, where High Rank and beyond tend to go up faster and more fluidly, so there's a point where your rank acquisition speeds up a lot and can sometimes jump significantly when you hit a certain point.
    Additionally, raising your rank does allow you to use more armor spheres on your current armor, so if you ever join a friend and hunt something way above your belt weight, don't worry about how much damage it's doing now. Your defenses will be a good bit higher when you actually work your way up to that monster.
    High Rank content does sort of start out like you're restarting the game on Hard Mode at first, but after a while you WILL start encountering new threats to battle and compete with, and eventually leads to Elder Dragons, which don't appear in the low rank missions.

    My monster hunter journey started in high-school, watching a classmate slay some cool looking dinosaur creatures on his PSP while we were supposed to be practicing tennis. I never got to play, but it looked cool.
    About 10 years later I got World, played a bit with friends, finished the story eventually only playing solo due to friends putting it down and then put it down myself after Xeno'Jiiva. Then when Iceborne released, I played it for a few hours, got frustrated, and put it down.
    I restarted World this year when two friends picked it up, and it was like I never put it down. I had never been really great at it, but I was not carting as much and could face some of the scarier monsters no problem. Now I'm done with Iceborne, and in the endgame and having a blast, even when solo'ing sometimes.
    I think it's never too late to pick it up, and I also believe that if you play World now, your Wilds experience is going to be better for it even if the weapons won't be 100% the same moves.

I'm always excited when a friend is interested in getting into the franchise, no matter their skill level or experience. The mh community is probably the most excited to always help newbies get into the game, cause some have gone through the learning curve alone and we know how fun the game can be when it clicks for you. If you don't have any experience with mh, theres a plethora of guides and help now in comparison to before and theres aure to be at least one person in your group who might be interested in giving it a go. Its never too late. I started playing with friends when iceborne dropped and loved it. Now ive went and played every generation. I heavily recommend it even if you are solo or plan to do so with friends. You wont regret starting now but you can regret not starting earlier.

    It's never too late join the hunt. I would recommend world over rise, not bc rise ks bad (i really enjoyed the game) but wilds is shaping up to look closer to world so you'd more than likely be able to jump into wilds without there being too much of a kearning curve outside of doing the new moves.
    Also @Rurikhan, if i remember correctly they added single player scaling to those multiplayer hunts. So they are significantly easier to solo now (still a challenge) since the scaling is no longer stock for 4 players

    I only got into World last Christmas. Struggled to play the older games (I only did as a kid, didn’t have the patience) so not truly experienced with the series.
    Coming from an actual newbie perspective… I’d agree it’s never too late. World + Iceborne makes one of the best games of all time imo.

    Never too late, for a few reasons.
    1) Monster Hunter World is still an amazing game with enough content to keep you playing until Wilds comes out (especially if you get Iceborne as well).
    2) World and Iceborne are often on sale can be had for a decent discount, but are still worth it even at full price.
    3) It's the best game to try if you're interested in Wilds but aren't sure the game is for you as Wilds is going to take much of World and iterate upon it, so playing World is a great way to test the waters and see if you like the temperature.
    4) With the 14 different weapons there is bound to be one that "clicks" with you and you find enjoyable, and many weapons are easy to pick up but have enough depth that you will still be learning something new hours into using it
    5) You can have a felyne companion as your hunting companion, I mean really this alone should be enough to get you to buy the game

  • @Beowulf_DW
    @Beowulf_DW 2 дні тому

    Rise and World are both entirely worth it! Find a weapon that clicks with you, and don’t be afraid to try them all! You never know which weapon will hit that dopamine button just right.

    It's never to late to start playing Monster Hunter, if you think about preparing for Wilds, go play World/Rise if can't wait for the release. Buy it on a discount and it will be a game that you'll play for hours on end.
    But as Rurikhan said, if you want to start on Wilds go ahead. Every game has it's own flavor and everyone will need to learn the game again, veterans might get things faster, but the game is made for anyone to pick up and play.

  • @mikes9767
    @mikes9767 2 дні тому

    Monster Hunter World or Monster Hunter Rise are both great games for a new player to start with. The older games aren't as beginner friendly but I still enjoyed playing through the village parts of Generations Ultimate , 3U and 4U.

    It's never too late, and it only gets easier with every new game. If you like it a bit and play a bit, that's totally fine. If you fall in love with it, well, there's tons of older games you "can" always pick up and play, but there is 0 pressure to do so ever. Take it easy, try out the game, and start with an easier to control weapon as you learn the basics of the game (best recommendation is sword and shield typically). You can always change your weapon later, there is no lockin.

    It’s not too late to start. Use the defender armor. It will help get you through the low and high rank quickly and use the defender weapons for low/high rank. And can start making better armor and weapons when you get into master rank. There always others will to join your hunt if you need help.

    👋 Hey Newcomers, read this if your interested in picking up the series!
    As a MH-Veteran, I have to agree that it unfortunately is too late to play it. BUT you can still enjoy the classic first title on ps2 or the port called "mh freedom" on psp. They are beginner friendly and have fluid combat.

    I'd definitely wait for Wilds to come out. World has expanded its content A LOT since its released; including its dlc expansion “Iceborne”. Not to say it’s a bad idea to those who have the money, but time is also a factor, and I doubt anyone could spare the time to beat World AND Iceborne before Wilds releases.

    It's never too late to have fun. Just don't dump on every game before the one that hooked you, and don't let the toxic minority (which exists in every fandom and *is* a minority) color your experience. If you encounter jerks, forsake the jerks. There *are* hunters who love to see knew players and will support you on your journey.

    If you're the sort of person who likes going into a game completely fresh then feel free to not play any other Monster Hunter before playing the upcoming Wilds. But I think you could get a very satisfying play session and experience from any of the existing Monster Hunter games, plenty enough time to put 20 to 100 hours into World and have an extremely fun experience.
