@@CobraEmergencyNorthAmerica I flew into New York City about 4 days before New Years, I was just about to get on my joint flight to leave and the airport lost power.. Ended up driving 13 hours back home to Chicago due to the fact lodging and flights weren't being compensated by the airline.
@@papalinguine4092 Yeah sucks to read that. There were a lotta storms at the time so that's likely the cause. When my flight out was cancelled I was lucky enough they put me up in a hotel and then eventually gave me a ticket with another airline once the storms had cleared a few days later. Driving back to Chicago in winter must've been tough but at least you got home.

I was in New York for the New Year for 2023. It was my first ever time there. It was my 3rd time in the United States. I have never seen so much police cars in my life that night.
8:15 I saw these guys when I was in the city, I live in NY and these guys look like soldiers. They wore all black and had rifles

It's weird because you JUST see the police on the ground, but they're fucking sharpshooters on top of buildings, and special response teams hiding where you wouldn't expect. Crazy, and lots of respect for the NYPD.

I think the NYPD has pretty much any type of vehicle you can make into a police vehicle no lie. That old Mack carrying the communications center was pretty freaking cool. They’ve gotta be the only major US city that doesn’t have a county sheriffs office connected and if they do I’ve never seen videos of them. Nice! The tow trucks were a pretty cool too tbh!
You can see Sheriff vehicles in NYC, but it is rare. They do have a Sheriff's office, though.

I was in new york for a few days, in buffalo, we were staying the nihgt on this naval ship and I never think I once saw any NYPD.
Oh yeah that's because Buffalo is a different city in the north west of New York State, as oppose to this video shot in New York City in the south of the state. One is policed by Buffalo PD, one is policed by New York City PD.

I’m also a year late but...
Since I live NY, the cars they normally use are the Ford Explorer, Ford Taurus, and the Chevy Express van. You’ll probably come across the Crown Victoria, Chevy Tahoe and Chevy impala here and there.
Those NYPD vehicles could look SO much more better if they had blue bubble lights instead of just all red on the front and just 2 on the back

What’s with the use of Vans for NYPD aside from transport of a suspect? Do they use it to carry multiple officers to a certain area? Looked it up couldn’t really get a good answer.
