@Dartgame 340 great point. Safety culture is cancer. Fucking live a little bit. I go overboard all the time for fun, just to go on a little swim 50 miles off the coast of Hatteras. Nice warm water out there in the Gulf Stream. The only thing that kinda scares me are the pilot whales that come outta nowhere or the odd blue or hammer head sharks. To be fair, i was a life guard in nags head for most of my twenties and I still surf almost daily. I’d consider myself an excellent swimmer with vast knowledge of the ocean in general.
@Dartgame 340 true the last 2 years here has gone down the toilet . But when you have pulled a few drowning people out of the water you’ll have a lot more respect for the ocean , Mother Nature doesn’t care how rich you are or how many 350hp outboards you have everyone drowns all the same kids just go down a bit quicker . The last person I rescued took me 1 1/2 hours to get in lucky I had a 7’6” mini mal not a short board or I may not have got him in

I just don't understand why people care so much about politicians to fly flags - especially 3 years from a presidential election.
