When I reduce speed at one track 1, other tracks elements do not move according to that, i have to move each and every element according to their original position. How to move other tracks when i change speed on one track?
Being able to add more time on a screen so easily has saved my sanity! I've been copying small snippet of the screen before it changes and pasting 5 copies to stay in the same place!
I agree, that is helpful, I was using the camera to take frame, then paste that in the timeline and extend it as required. You might also look at cutting your clip, and changing the clip speed on the section you want to extend; for longer pauses it makes it feel a bit less static, assuming there is some mouse movement.
My experience on a Mac is different to that of the video. The default is to move ALL tracks when dragging playhead, whether you have media selected or not. Tip: If you're wanting to RIPPLE MOVE media on one track only, within a project with multiple tracks, Solo the track first. On a Mac this is OPTION+click the track visibility (eye) icon. In fact the best way to ripple move a single track on Mac , is select ANY other clip on the Track to the right of the first clip that needs moving, then hold Shift, then click on that first clip and drag right. So if you have 5 clips on a track that need ripple moving, select #3 clip...hold down shift & click on Clip#1 then drag right to move across timeline. Basically follow the steps in the video for Ripple Move but drag the first clip, not the playhead.
Is there anyway to change the default proxy video storage from the C drive? I have several fast NVME drives directly connected to motherboard and it keeps filling up my C Drive instead.
At this time I don't believe there is, however, you can set it to automatically delete Proxy files (oldest first when they reach a certain GB size - which you can customize in your preferences).
Really wish the right click extend frame would simply make a copy of frame and drop in default length into timeline for user to simply drag to size. Awesome video though, all very useful features can’t wait to use.

Then at the end of the animation, drag the credits to the top of the canvas, again off-screen. Change the duration by extending the animation on the timeline (as they may show in the tutorial).
Oh the proxy video! So let's say I'm in the middle of editing and forgot to change the videos to proxy. If I go ahead and convert the media to proxy will it also convert the video on the timelines?
Proxy video is a great tip - didn't know it existed. All my videos are shot with dslr camera and are usually 2 GB so I'm sure this will help. It's not uncommon to see my computer choking on processing while editing

Thanks for the tips. I just started dabbling in Descript, and am finding that Camtasia is more powerful for getting a polished final product, but Descript is much easier. First off, the text based editor is integrated with the timeline unlike with audiate, but I suspect it is only a matter of time before Camtasia jumps on the bandwagon and integrates the two. The question you might know the answer to, though, is whether Camtasia has something like 'scenes' in Descript. It lets you set up a template, and then with a single click it can jump between multi-cam layouts, including crops. So I can go from a full screen of the screen recording track, to my full headshot, to an intro with a lower thirds video overlaid, to a side by side of the presentation with my cropped headshot and a video background looping, back to my headshot full screen, etc. All with one click of the scene I want. So convenient. I use assets and the library to apply layouts to a single track, but can't figure out if there is something analogous to the scenes where I can do something to all the tracks at once. I wouldn't be exaggerating if I said it reduces my editing time by about 70%, and makes it much more likely for me to put cuts in to make the video more engaging. Does that sound like something in Camtasia? Thanks
Honest answer: we do not have Scenes like Descript. Maybe in the future, but not currently nor is it on an upcoming timeline that we're aware of. HOWEVER, we do have ways that you can save common workflows. For example, since 2020 we've had Templates in Camtasia. You can save your favorite vidoe as a template, and then replace titles/footage and everything else by dragging and dropping your new footage over your old and telling it to 'replace.' Have you tired Motion Paths? You can add bezier curves with them. Find Motion Path in the Visual Effects tab and add the effect to just about any on-screen elements.
