  • Each year, NCNPS awards grants of up to $1000 to NC students conducting research on native plants and their habitats. In this meeting, 4 of the 2024 recipients will present on work that your donations are helping to fund! The presenters and their topics are:
    Leigha Henson - AppState Master's
    Warming and Precipitation Effects on Several Common Moss Species of the Southern Appalachian Mountains
    Erin Eichenberger - NSCU PhD
    Investigating populations and pollinators of Echinacea laevigata (Asteraceae) to further conservation efforts
    Lydia Cox - Duke University
    Herbarium collections assist with disentangling the effects of climate change on flowering phenology of native carnivorous plants.
    Lauren Willhite - NCSU Master's
    Long-term survivorship and species invasion post-restoration on Rocky Branch
    Our mission is to promote the enjoyment and conservation of North Carolina’s native plants and their habitats through education, protection, cultivation, and advocacy.
