This is the best video of Sacramento. I see you did your research. A lot of people says Sacramento is a boring city but they don’t look at the rich history & the beautiful architectures. Incredible walk through. Even I don’t even know much of the building year it was build and I live here. You did great. 👍

I live here since 1989 and you did a pretty good job. To do it correctly you need to do a 4-5hr video. Yes the crime is now really high and a good reason we are leaving. Plus home prices are crazy high. On the other hand, in the spring when everything is green it is a really nice place to be. ☺

I remember going to the railroad museum in old town Sacramento. It's been there for a long time. I was a kid when my family went there. That was probably in the 70's. Very fond memories. Growing up, I was always a train enthusiast. It was good to see those big locomotives.

DPH gets pretty crazy at times. Grant always had a formidable football team. It was good to see at least a percentage of those kids getting a chance to have a life outside of the streets. Not many of the kids who grow up in that hood ever made it outta there. I wish we as a society would do something significant to help them aside from labelling them as gangsters, slapping on the handcuffs, and locking them in a cage.

Surprisingly this came out to be one of the best videos you posted in last few months. Some part of the city is so picturesque that it could be an ideal spot for canvass painters, particularly nature lovers. If you end up going further north, be sure to make a stop in Willows, California. I've never lived there. But it's one of the more charming small cities of the central valley, and they have the Thunderhill Raceway Park. I grew up in Esparto California, a small town located just outside Capay Valley, which is a pretty gorgeous landscape that also has the Cache Creek Casino Resort; the main moneymaker of Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation. The tribe has been very supportive of Esparto and its residents through yearly $1M donations to the school system, and the recent construction of both a health clinic and a park with a pool seen just as you enter town. Esparto is about 45 minutes west of Sacramento but there's all sorts of very small towns when you go futher up the valley. I recommend you check it out if you get the chance. There's also some wineries further north of there if you're in to that sort of thing.

Very entertaining and informative in your talks, one thing I do have to say is I am shocked at the amount of run down (refuse to use poverty) that the majority of places are, what is causing this, here in Australia we do have smaller rural towns that eventually shut down, but the big difference between here and the USA is population, Australia's population at present is 26 million on a land mass the same as mainland USA ?, please keep making these video's.

The locomotive you saw was only a fraction of the collection. The indoor museum is spectacular with many more trains and exhibits. For those who may not know, Sacramento was the beginning of the Transcontinental Railroad and the Central Pacific Line commissioned by President Lincoln going to the east over Donner Pass and the Sierra Nevada meeting up with the Union Pacific at Promontory Point, Utah. Well chronicled in the Steve Ambrose book: Nothing Like it in the World. Great video!

Joe & Nic, if you’re driving to the Northcoast, don’t forget to drive through the Avenue of the Giants. It’s an amazing place. Thanks for sharing your adventure in Sac. We live Northeast of Sac. Enjoy your time in Cali although it’s being mismanaged by the governor.

Thanks for the tour of the capitol city of California. It seems more pleasant than larger cities in the state; the many trees add to its attractiveness. There is a surprising amount of historical preservation, considering Old Sacramento, the Railroad Museum, government buildings and the Streamlined Modern bridge. Need to add it to my bucket list to visit!

The most recent point in time count over 10,000 homeless in Sacramento. Of course, those areas are not shown. Housing prices are fricking ridiculous. $ 1,600 to live in a 1bdrm shoebox. Peace Out Sac

@@JoeandNicsRoadTrip If you head up to Chico in Northern California checkout the Madison Bear Garden. Very cool and interesting place to have lunch. It is very similar to Fanny Ann's Saloon. It was one of my hangouts when I was going to college at CSU-Chico in the late 1970's. My oldest brother lives in Chico and my other brother lives in Oroville. I live up in Washington State.

Good post! Man you're on a roll. I subscribed after you came to Oakland. If you come back through the bay area you should do some cities people dont talk about like Antioch , Martinez , Daly City , Millbrae , Los Altos etc , just places in the bay no one has documented on UA-cam , there's plenty of cities 👍🏾

From what I saw in the video the city does a very good job taking care of their trees, that is what 🌲🌴 trees in a city should look like. Been a tree Doctor all my life.
