Keto Eggwiches [Low Carb Breakfast Sandwich]

- Опубліковано 28 сер 2022
- One of the main things people miss when going on a keto diet is sandwiches. But the good news is that there are alternative ways to have a tasty and carb-free sandwich. This keto “eggwiches” recipe is one of the best you’ll find!
The “bread” for this sandwich is made from egg and spinach, which is mixed together and then fried like small omelets. Not only do egg and spinach taste great, they are also two of the most nutrient-rich foods you can eat.
The eggwiches are then filled with breakfast sausage, bacon, cheese, and if you like, some extra greens. The end result is a protein-packed meal to give you a great start to your day.
One of the good things about this recipe is that you can swap out pretty much any of the fillings for other ones you have in the fridge, or you prefer. For example, you can use any type of sausage or meat fillings and add any other vegetables like tomatoes and avocados.
Regardless of what you put into your eggwiches, it’s a great keto-friendly dish to make for breakfast, lunch, or as a snack to get you through the day. Go and give this tasty recipe a try today-we’re sure you’re going to love it!

Thank you so much for this recipe. I can’t wait to try it 👍🏻🌟🙏🇬🇧🙋🏻♀️
Looks wonderful , THANK YOU!!!
Thank you so much. If you get a chance to try it, let me know what you think 😁
I never thought of doing the egg sandwich this way. Thanks for the creative and simple breakfast change-up!👏👏
Always happy to help! I hope you give it a try 😁
I love your creative ideas 😍😋
I appreciate that, thank you!
i would lay all that out in a baking pan with sausage in the top chopped and it would be nice to cut in squares add cheese to the top
You can definitely do that, too!
That looks so delicious
Yumz. Looks Delicious. 🥚🥓
TFS RM, & take care everyone. ❤🙂🐶
love this
Great alternative! I’m not a fan of egg IN sandwiches, so egg as a bun is a great way to add protein. I often use Egglife wraps and fill with veggies, crumbled bacon and sausage, and cheese. But this is great alternative! And, of course, if someone wanted to make egg wraps, they could absolutely use this, poured thinly over the bottom of a skillet…
Great, super versatile recipe!
Thanks! I hope you're a fan of this, then 😅 I have used those egg wraps before and they're not bad but I always need 2 of them because they tend to rip. The egg wraps you make at home do better (at least in my experience), so I'd love to see someone making this in wrap form!
@@RuledMe
I make my own sometimes, too, for the same reason. The Egglife are better in that regard than the other, IMO, of the store bought! But you can customize the seasonings if you choose to make your own.
@@Lucinda_Jackson I'll have to give the egglife ones a try! I used to buy the crepini brand from Costco and stopped buying them because they'd always rip so much. Thanks for letting me know 😀
Looks delicious.
Awesome sauce and a side of fries!!
Very delicious looking RuledMe, Thank you once again for a awesome video and dish...
Always happy to help with new ideas ❤
Very yummy
Holy Hannah. Only about 7 carbs. I have been trying to get back on track and started back on low carb to ease back in to keto. And sadly my other sandwich idea for pre-work kinda failed. So I needed a new version with more protein to last for a good few hours. Thank you🙏
Glad it helps you out - I hope you like the taste, too!
I had just bought a pack of frozen keto eggwich from Costco a few days ago and thought I could probably make this and here you are with a recipe for it! This can probably be frozen for convenience and have an easy breakfast or snack option. The microwave instruction from the Costco frozen version is to wrap it in damp paper towel and microwave for 50 seconds, flip it and microwave for another 50 seconds.
I'd be curious how they compare with each other. If you get a chance to try this one, let us know!
Yes, let us know!@
Wow! Roll on breaky! 😂😂❤️🥰
As always...thank you 😋
Always happy to help - thank you for watching 😊 I hope you get a chance to try it out if it sounds good to you!
@@RuledMe none of your recipes that I've tried have disappointed. Always grateful for the inspiration 🙏
@@janeclempson1978 That's a huge compliment, thank you for giving them a chance!
Yummy 🤤 👌🏾🤩
Was having chaffles made in a waffle maker but kept sticking/falling apart, will change to this now long term, I also make 2 egg omelette wraps and refrigerate until needed.
I hope you enjoy it just as much!
Yum!
Yum
Yummy
Love it, the only difference was I didn't add bacon because we don't like bacon.
Fantastic simple idea.
All good, just glad you enjoyed it!
This looks delicious! 😋 💯
Looks delicious!
I would keep bacon whole and crispy.
Благодарю!!!
Excellent idea! Where do you get those egg rings? You could just use one or two of these egg/veg combos for portable omelets. Yum!
Thanks! You can find them on Amazon - just search for egg ring molds
Walmart
OMG, that looks so bomb, nutritious, and economical.
Thanks so much - glad you think so 😋
😋😋
Looks amazing…
Thank you 🤗 I hope you get to try it out!
What's the little gadget they use in the pan they pour the egg into?
It's called an egg ring 😊
Can you provide a link for the egg ring? Please😊
There should be a link on the written recipe on the website (linked in the description)
Did you make the Patty at home too or is it a frozen patty you bought from a store?
We made our own patty but the frozen ones can work too (depending on if they have added sugar or not).
What can i use as alternative to spinach?
Any leafy green will work - or you can skip the spinach.
How many will this make total? Thanks!
Will make 2 bigger ones are 3 smaller ones. Up to you on how you make them.
Do you need the cream?
You could skip it if you prefer, it's not 100% necessary, I just find it helps with the texture of the egg a little bit.
Aren't you afraid of the cholesterol? That looks soooo good
If you're eating keto, then I wouldn't be concerned with cholesterol. You can see the research here: www.ruled.me/the-ketogenic-diet-and-cholesterol/
Why did you add 6 eggs.. ? Isn't the mixture extra??
I'm not sure what you mean. You are making the 'buns' out of egg, and this makes 3 total sandwiches.
@@RuledMe I mean at one time breakfast, how many sandwiches we should eat in keto?.
@@mariumrehman8391 Depends on your macros.
@@RuledMe thanks 😊
processed cheese has lots of carbs in so better to use real cheddar cheese
1 slice of processed cheese won't really have many carbs, but we use 'real' cheese in our written/photographed version of the recipe. American cheese was just what we had on hand when shooting the video. That said, a slice of American cheese isn't going to be a crazy amount of carbs, usually at most 1g more carbs than a slice of 'real' cheese.
@@RuledMe One slice isn't likely to throw you out of ketosis no. But processed fake cheese has many times as much carbs as real cheese due to the ingredients. Just something to consider.
@@drutt2454 One slice won't throw you out of ketosis, not even close. A 1 ounce slice of cheddar is 1g net carbs, a 1 ounce slice of American cheese is around 2.3g net carbs. It's closer to 2x the carbs than "many times as much", but unless you are eating lots of slices of processed cheese, it's really not going to make much of a difference.
I DO agree with you that it's better to buy/use less processed foods (the closer to natural the better), but hinting that it's going to knock you out of ketosis is a bit disingenuous. I'm a big believer in showing people that keto can be done by everyone - from "dirty" keto to clean keto. No point in gatekeeping ingredients, people can decide on what works best for them.
@@RuledMe Yes that's exactly what i said. 1 slice won't throw you out of ketosis. I think you read my comment incorrectly
Isn’t this really high in sodium though Jesus 😂
cooked bacon suddenly missing and a mysterious breakfast sausage appears. Urgh, at least get the continuity right.
The bacon gets added to the egg mixture...it states it in the video
Hi. This cheese is not keto.
Or dirty keto
Yes it is.
I don't have anything against eggs, but touching eggs with your hands like this is super greasy and messy.
No different to eating something like a frittata muffin. You can dab it with paper towels if you want to, though.
Then don't make it, geez.
