      @@RuledMe I did the egg cups, and they were awesome. But I tried the tacos using cheddar cheese, and it did NOT work the way yours did. I ended up with a huge glob of sloppy cheese with a ring of orange oil around it !

    • @RuledMe
      @RuledMe  3 роки тому +1

      @@heesanoice7637 Glad the egg cups came out well. When you cooked the cheese did you use a non-stick pan? If you don't leave it long enough to crisp, it usually just melts and gets greasy. That said, cheddar is going to be a fattier cheese so it doesn't crisp up as well for something large like a taco. Mozzarella works much better. You can turn cheddar into crisps in the oven and in a pan too, but there will always be more residual oil that comes out.

      In the US we pasteurize eggs, so I wouldn't be too concerned. If you're in Europe though, you can skip having the egg in the filling (just remove some of the batter before adding the egg).

      If you're worried you can specifically buy pasteurized eggs. Or, you can skip using the batter in the icing. I personally don't think the chance of getting sick is very high especially if you aren't letting the egg white/yolk touch the outside of the shell.

    With the waffle recipe where you reserve 2 tsp of the batter for the topping….by doing that aren’t you eating raw eggs when you add it to the top of the cooked waffle? Is that safe?

    • @RuledMe
      @RuledMe  8 місяців тому +1

      If you do not have pasteurized eggs, you can always skip that part and leave the batter out of the topping. Safety is always subjective - for me, it's a similar vein to licking batter off of the whisk when making a cake. But for others that is not an acceptable practice. Do what you find works best for you 👍

      They would but I wouldn't particularly recommend Splenda. The powdered/granulated version is mostly maltodextrin which will spike your blood sugar levels (and can have a strange aftertaste). I'd really recommend swapping to a more keto-friendly (0 glycemic index) sweetener.

    Hello Ruled Me. When cooking recipes ... can you simply leave out the sugar , including sugar substitutes? Do you have to adjust the amounts of other ingredients if you do this?

    • @RuledMe
      @RuledMe  3 роки тому +3

      It depends on the recipe - you can, but you will likely end up with lower volume of the finished product. For example if you left out the sweetener in the donut muffins, you'd probably have 1 or 2 fewer muffins. You shouldn't need to adjust the other ingredients much, but you may need to add a tablespoon or 2 more of almond flour to help bring the batter together.

      Coconut milk from a carton is one of my favorites to use. Almond milk is fine, too; you can also use canned coconut milk if your macros allow. Or do a mix of almond milk with a bit of heavy cream.

      There's not going to be a great alternative for eggs when it comes to baked goods. There are vegan "egg" replacements on the market I have heard good things about but they will affect the nutritional information as they usually do have much more carbs than real eggs.

    • @RuledMe
      @RuledMe  3 роки тому +3

      Feel free to omit the batter from the icing if you prefer. If you live in the US then your eggs are pasteurized and there should be no issue with having a small amount of raw egg.

    • @Mairiain

      Eggs are pasteurized in the US, so it would be safe to eat if your eggs are pasteurized. If they are not, you can either omit the batter from the icing, or you can make the batter without eggs, remove a small amount, and then add the eggs in for the waffles.

    Hey I wanted to ask if I don't have Erythritol can I use Stevia sugar (sweet leaf)???

    • @RuledMe
      @RuledMe  3 роки тому

      Sweet leaf stevia is typically liquid stevia which is extremely concentrated. A lot of these recipes use erythritol as both a sweetener and a bulking agent (adding both texture and volume). You would get a slightly different texture and end taste using stevia alone, but you could if you absolutely want to.
