John - After watching hours and hours of these video's, I purchased a Simpson 3300psi, 2.5gpm pressure washer, a K'Archer 15" surface cleaner and a turbo-nozzle. With those, I cleaned my driveway and approx. 100' of curb. Nothing but water used. No lines. Looks fantastic, actually. I was careful about the overlap and on the places where I had any doubt at all, I not only went up and down the driveway/sidewalk, but side-to-side as well. Truthfully, the most important thing I found was that it was really important to rinse each section thoroughly before proceeding to the next one. Of time, time/profit wasn't an issue since I was doing it just for me.
Thats awesome! Be on the lookout later for streaking that could develop. The organic matter that bleach is used to kill off begins to grow back and that's the main culprit for streaking other than just user error on the surface cleaner.
Good advice, I also own my own pressure washing business and started from scratch with no knowledge of it. Only thing that I disagree with you is the painting and staining as an up charge. As a beginner I only recommend sticking to one thing. Once you start to stray into other things like painted, staining, or even putting sand down for pavers is when you’re going to lose time and money cause you don’t do it everyday. Other than that great videos love sharing mistakes so others can avoid making them.
Think you can help me out I’m tryna start mine up but don’t know what types of chemicals to use and what not.
Most people think you need a lot of pressure this is the biggest problem with rookie pressure washers it’s all about the chlorine high pressure causes damage to seals and other things makes doors and windows leak painters use lots of chlorine most people think high pressure is good it’s not commercial pressure washing companies started this they usually do a fast terrible job
I’m located in North Florida and I’m just now starting out in this new venture as a side hustle currently.
You never want to pressure wash fences! you should be softwashing them with SH(sodium hypochlorite)!!
I'm right down I-4 in Plant City.. looking into getting started in that business after the tools are bought
Dallas here you're a beast just friended you on FB so its cool to see you here on my feed
John’s just a wealth of knowledge. Another great video and on to the next one.. 🍻
If they ask why you are doing pressure washing on vinyl, say " I am not using the full pressure". There are angle nozzles, right?
You should be soft-washing vinyl with a downstream injector at a 1.5% mix (the mix varies on the mildew buildup)
Great channel, John. Used to live in Sarasota county, now in the Florida Keys. Good luck with everything!
Great pointers thanks for all your helpful information
I live in Houston. And recently quit my job.
My plan is to be my own boss. And highly saw this pressure washing business as one of my side hustles. But just as a rookie beginner, I have minimum clue of what type of equipment I need. And this video has been very helpful. Also, If I may ask you. What is the pricing range to clean the front driveway of the house. Somewhat of the same size that you are pressure washing in the video. I still have 0 clue what a lot, or so little to charge the customer. Yet again thanks.
The best way to clean a cedar fence is with spraying diluted bleach, it will come out looking like new wood.
I live in Lakeland Florida I'm new to your channel
Thanks for watching
This info is good but the video is painful to watch. Overlapped lines and a respirator in an openly ventilated area?
Clermont FL.
So basicly you lost customers because you didn't know what you were doing, but have learned since. You could also upsale driveway concrete sealer.
What kind of chemicals did you shoot on it before and after?? I’m trying to start my own PW business and I’m just confused on what types of chemicals to use
Just starting out in Tampa bay (Brandon)…..thanks for the content and info…..also where is the pressure washing store in tampa…..
I lost clients because I ransacked their dresser drawers and medicine cabinet.
They leave me alone so who’s fault is it really?
Hey John, I operate over here in clearwater, what place do you get your bulk SH? 3 to 4 bucks a gallon is crazy for just getting the 2.5 gallons at a pool store. If you could let me know you would be a life saver!
The reason you leave lines when you surface clean is because you you use wrong tips and or too much pressure not enough water flowing. I never use any chemicals and I never leave lines on driveways. Chemicals just bleach the lines and then it comes back in like 9 months and looks like crap. Good luck. Gotta get that return costumer. Bleaching lines is not going to do that. Gotta get a good 5.5 3500 machine with 40* tips Mabe 25s i run 4003 i think and 2504 they work great on a 20in cleaner
What was the post treatment you were putting on? Just SH?
Hey! I am trying to start up my business but unfortunately, I do not have a truck for it, what should I do?
Get a truck
Mr John, my name is Javier and I am about to enter the pressure wash business, I have a trailer set up that I would like you to see, because I have some connection problems, I am watching many videos and I am getting very confused, I already did a test on it driveway from my house and I realized that I don't know anything after the ten million videos I watched, I live in Tampa and I would like to know if you have the course to enter but in person (physical) and or the opportunity to contact you.
I will be very grateful for your answer
Thank you
When I tap on the link for the yard signs it doesn’t give me 100 for 99$? It says it’s 300 dollars for 100? Do I have to put a code in?
would you recommend electric or gas powered washer if im just starting out?
Definitely gas
He said in the video that electric makes no sense
in orlando
Also what’s the pull ratio for an xjet?
Depends what orifice you add to inside of barb fitting, kit includes many. Google M5 X Jet. Good luck
I use the beige one it's 10-1, which depending on batch mix it's very easy to get the 2-5%
Miami
Hey, I just got my first pressure washer. It's 4400 psi but the hose it came with is SUPER stiff. What's a better hose that doesn't kink all the time and is easy to maneuver?
That Simpson monster hose will outlast any other hose on the market. It is a pain at first but when your hose management gets better it wont be an issue.
Flexzilla
Hey bro I got you, the grey non-marking hose is the go-to for high-pressure hoses!
100 bucks 10years ago is a thousand now
Charlotte area
Same!
Damn, too much soap.
