    This is one of the greatest movies of all time. What an EPIC score. Those french horns are just tear-inducing.

    2:10 In the scene where the water divides and rises, the scale goes from low to high notes repeatedly... It's like the motion of the water is captured in the music itself, so we can not only see it but also hear it, which makes that scene even more powerful and gripping. Love it.

    • @boeman6702
      @boeman6702 4 роки тому +20

      What's better is that the rising notes are divided between the left and right sections and are playing at different times. This leaves the main motif for God in the middle where the water divides. The trumpet is there for the shocker and shock factor and the strings playing the high notes are representing the rising tension or the rising water.

      Kira Anima composers like John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Stephen Schwartz, and Jeremy Seoule LOVE doing this kinda stuff. Next time you watch Star Wars, you’ll notice a lot of the music either mimics creatures or blasters or sounds like a starry night sky. Pretty much any space movie that Hans Zimmer composed for us just instant with the spacey feel bc of music

    What’s a human’s natural desire if they find they have a talent?
    To pursue it.
    So if God wants you to do something in life.
    Often times He’ll give you the talent to do it.
    Marc is a great musician.
    Go figure.

    I still remember the first time I heard the music in this movie. It's good that I went to the movies alone, I was out of breath from the great emotion it caused me. And I still feel that way every time I hear it. What a great video.

  • @ifNATEcan

    I just wanted to let you know Marc Pageghin, this piece you did, was amazing. In a way, it was different from the movie, which I’ve seen many times, like different in a way I can only attempt to explain. It made me remember the extreme works and miracles of the Lord. I mean, the miracle of the Red Sea! God split the waters, and when he did, what was left? The sea ground, which had been covered with water for centuries, was completely dry!! I mean, that should never be possible!!! Listening to you just play the music practically brought me to tears with faith. And to anyone else who read the entire comment, I want to let you know that even though this movie was made for kids and everything, it all happened. Whenever you are feeling alone or sad, just remember that we are watched over by a God do awesome and powerful that, who is even willing to SPLIT an entire sea I half for some slaves. But the true and simple fact is, the Lord Almighty is willing to move mountains for us, because we are his, and he loves us more than eternity. So sorry for the long comment, but I needed to at least let you know Mr. Pageghin. Thank you for what you have given me and anyone else who watches this video. And I can only amagine that this is what the Lord made you for. Bringing people to him through your music! May the Lord our God bless you and everything you do!! 🥲

    Marc this is wonderful and inspiring to play along with. The way you sequenced the visual from the movie with your playing and the score makes it so easy to join in, which is super satisfying! Plus you sound freaking great. I love that you are doing this. One request, when you're playing along, how do you sync up so well with the track? Do you use a video conductor track or something? I would love to see conducting before entrances - even just more cueing from the horn if possible, so I can be like your youtube section mate

    • @Marc_Papeghin
      @Marc_Papeghin  6 років тому +1

      Thanks Marc ! The best way is to create a tempo map of the track ( which often means going through the whole thing bar by bar to figure out all of the tempo and time signature changes ) and that tempo map will then enable me to record with a clicktrack perfectly synched to the piece :) But I don't systematically do that, when the piece has a very steady tempo for example I can easily play along without a click !

    Are you able to explain how to count the switching from 4/4 to 5/4 then 6/4 47 seconds in, im trying to get back into playing and some of the time signatures are confusing to understand. Also is there a difference between 6/8 and 6/4, I’ve seen this a couple times and it seems like they are both a compound duple but what’s the difference if there is one? Or is that just a preference, like how people say tomato in two different ways even though it’s the same word?

    • @Marc_Papeghin
      @Marc_Papeghin  2 роки тому

      Hey Alexandra ! Switching from 4/4 to 5/4 is quite easy, 5/4 is basically a 4/4 with one extra beat :) Same goes for 6/4, you just count 6 beats instead of 4.
      As for 6/4 and 6/8, they are not the same thing.
      6/4 is actually not a really common time signature so you shouldn't worry too much about it, but 6/8 definitely is !
      I'd suggest you check out this link :) www.musical-u.com/learn/learn-to-hear-the-68-time-signature/

    OK , Hanz Zimmer is epic , no doubt. Tragic irony composed the score of the Dark knight with James Newton Howard.

    3:55 what are the +'s over the double full notes in the horn lines? thanks

      The "+" indicates that they're "stopped notes", meaning you completely close the bell with your right hand and play the note a half-step lower than written ( this will result in a very "nasal" sound ;)
