Oh the cliff hanger again! So much fun - can't think of a better way to spend a Sunday eve. I love both of your channels for the different ways you present your content. Being a visual learner, I take away so much for information from a well made video than an excellent book. Thank you both!!
I enjoy doing this style of video rather than just panning around a garden full of trees. Much more interesting for me and I think it makes it easier to identify with the people involved :)
Really enjoyed what you have done with all the hours of video you filmed when you visited. It was such a fun day and that definitely comes out in the edit. Looking forward to part two. Thanks very much for this and your kind comments 🙏
you are real and know alot about bonsai so why are people saying you dont know anything keep up the good work and dont take any notice of the haters mate you have helped me channel alot and i than you (Dave)
Peter Chan is a very successful businessman. He has had many years if not a lifetime to refine the Art. I first met him in the 1990's at the British Airways Bonsai club. His styling has never changed in all these years. He used to wear a karate jacket when he styled a Potensai. He was very amusing to watch. The results were unique amongst the community. Jason you have many lovely trees.
@@XaviersBonsaiRetreat Sadly some of my Bonsai favorites like the great Peter Adams have passed. Still, like seeds there knowledge has a new generation. All good.
Thanks Xavier for another great video, I really enjoy both yours and Jason’s videos. It was really interesting to see behind the scenes to see how Jason produces his videos, it’s amazing to see that his channel is all produced just using an IPhone. This interview type video is great, it provides a real insight into the artist on how they approach certain things and why they make the choices they do. I look forward to the part 2!
We discuss this and I am sure he will do this one day. But right now his family and work take all his time. He has agreed to do a few more videos wwith me in 2025.
Hi Xavier, I am late coming to the party, I have watched both yours and Jason's videos and I love them both, you both get on so well, the pot Jason mentioned by Tommy Butterworth is a great potter I have bought pots from him since he started, he is not afraid of breaking the boundaries of pot making, you can spot his pots a mile off and as Jason said at reasonable prices, Jason has a lovely garden which he has obviously developed over a long time, he clearly knows what he is doing in regards to bonsai. The silver birch he has from our friend Tony who did more in his short bonsai life than a lot of bonsai people have taken three times as long, we all miss him. You do a great job of editing your videos you must have worked very hard to make me look reasonable, thanks for the mention by the way. Look forward to the next one with Jason. All the best my friend.
Japanese maples and crab apples... Favorites of mine along with two of my "must watch" bonsai personalities. Looking forward to part two. And Monty Python as the cherry on top!😊
Am loving these collaboration videos... Great stuff! 👏👏👏 Also looking forward to the Silver Birch videos.... I have a Jaqcamontii to dig up this winter/next spring ... Wondering where to lop it.... Then there is the Gingko, which I have had for 35years in too small a pot so it hasn't prospered all that well .. Time for nurture in '25.
Xaviaer you and greenwoods have done something to my brain. I cant stop thinking about bonsi and looking at trees.,am I going mad?. I have just retired it looks like I'll have plenty to do❤.
Ive been going through this for the last 5 yrs. I cant stop thinking about bonsai and my trees and whats in the future for me and them😂. The addiction is forever and i feel forever dedicated to my trees. Not one day goes by. Crazy indeed. Im hoping to teach as a retirement project.
Fabulous video, Jason has great advice and some great trees, a pleasure to listen to you both. Is that an unleaded swallow ? Congratulations on your up and coming 6,000 subscribers.
Great video who has been saying that Jason is not real and dont know about Bonsai ive watched you both from day one and ive learnt alot from you both so keep up the good work guys and dont let the haters get to you thanks (Dave )
Hi Dave...it was a bit tongue and cheek because I keep trying to push him to do more bonsai work...Jason just insists it is too boring for people to watch :)
I have a number of Tom's pots and he is incredibly imaginative with the glazes and textures he uses. They are also very reasonably priced for the size and quality.
Also it’s great to see Jason actually talking bonsai and doing bonsai, rather then reading from his words over a video, we know he can and does, but to see him emphatically in his own words describe his own trees is fantastic. He does work with a script as told, but I feel here he is free styling it and it does tell in his knowledge and love more in your video Xav as he feels very at ease and his personality shines through and you bring out that perfect here.
That's strange that Jason mentioned Hinata in this video, I had never heard of them... but I actually purchased a lovely little Hinata pot today, just before this upload haha 😆
Jason is not telling the truth about one thing.......those fish are mine. Just can't figure out how to get them into the US, so Jason is keeping them for me. wink, wink

Another cracking video Xavier, i'm looking forward to the next installment already. Thanks.
Lot's of stuff still to come but...we may have to delay with a quick bonsai video about Silver Birch first :)
Great video really enjoyed it
Looking forward to part 2
And all your future videos
Thank you so much
A great video collaboration! Engaging discussions with two very kind-hearted Englishmen! Can’t wait for pt. 2
Thanks - part 2 is still in the editing phase. We chatted about so much :)

Even I was amazed at just how compact Jason's garden really is. It is so well designed...I didn't spoil the magic by doing a 'literal' walk around :)
Another great video, Xavier. Looking forward to the 2nd part. RIP Tony.
Spoiler...you get to see one of Tony's Silver Birch on Tuesday as I drop back into bonsai stuff again :)
Lovely job lads
Thanks raymond
@XaviersBonsaiRetreat another great video. Thanks
Yes Xavier! I'm very excited for this and I'd like to preempt your 6000 subscriber celebration with a big congratulations 🎉
May I ask Alex wouldn't it be good if you had a Bonsai channel we've seen your lovely trees in a Xavier video.
Your support has been so important to me through this journey Alex - thank you :)

He does great work wiht his trees though :)

Thank you so much for saying that. My humour doesnt appeal to a lot of people - life is too serious in my opinion. Hobbies are for enjoyment :)

@XaviersBonsaiRetreat 🤣🤣🤣❤️
Jason is so professional and a perfectionist. Such a nice contrast to you and your jokes Xavier both full of great advice in my opinion.
Thanks for the kind words. I’m just an enthusiastic hobbyist, happy to share my experience and learning with others. 🙏
He was definitely a different character to interview. I thought jelle struggled with humour :)
@@XaviersBonsaiRetreat😂
I like that you guys have a video records of your trees. I want to start one just to have that.
It is nice being able to go back and see the changes in just 3 years with some of my trees. especially the Bonsai Bonfire of Shame videos :)
nice chat between you both! i’d like to see a collab video with Gavin Thorpe (NotAnotherBonsaiChannel) as well 😊
He is quite far south from me but if he manages to get up to me I will have alittle fun i am sure. I did do an impression of him in one early video :)

Fun video! Jason is definitely a master at many things especially his eye for pairing a pot with a tree
Thank you. 🙏
I think you are right on that. his ability to match tree to pot amazes me. I struggle to pair socks with trousers and shirts :)

Are Hinata pots available in the US? Is there a link?
Elizabeth has a shop on Etsy, Hinata Ceramics. I know she was looking into international sales but cannot say where she got to with this.

Hello Xavier do you know the bonsai channel „yamasibon KIWA“. Compare his videos with yours. Whatś the difference?
