Lovely video Xavier. Please do a behind the scenes feature of the workshop, I've been thinking of doing a workshop and it would be great to know what someone with your experience gets out of it! Cheers
Still on catch-up after my Edinburgh trip. I had completely forgot about this video… 😮 Great to see Darren there with you, and the whole experience was a fun watch 👍
Great to meet you Xavier, your posts are always a joy 😊 My, I look different on video... I'm actually a dress size 4 and 26 years old. Love the lipstick joke 🤣🤣🤣
What a fantastic lot of trees. You had a great day and got your Elm, but you'll have to be a bit faster on the pines! Can't wait to see what you do with it.
Beautiful elm you got, Xavier. I think that's the one in the video Jelle posted a few days ago. We were lucky to have Corin as one of the guest artists at US Nationals last year. I certainly enjoyed his demonstration and our little chat afterwards.
This Elm has been featured in several of our videos already so I am so pleased it was still unsold for this great day. it gives the tree a little more 'history' for future episodes.
Definitely yes for a video of the workshop! Until I get over there some day, I have to live vicariously through you, so it will be sort of like me getting to take the class with you! Also looking forward to seeing how the cork bark elm develops. Another great video, thanks Xavier!
Wonderful video Xav my favourite bit was around the 6:08 minute.. oh I chuckled to myself when you didnt take your hand of the elm as in you was guarding it 😅 really enjoyed this one and very wholesome 😊
I learn't my lesson with that Scots Pine. I really wanted that one too. A lot of people kept 'tutting' because they noticed there was a reserved ticket on it very early on :)
Such a cool video Xavier! It looks like such a pleasure to chat with Corin, such a great learning resource. How lucky you are to live so near! Thank you for sharing 😊
Thanks for sharing your visit..... A big YES to the class... Even if it is just for the entertainment value of your humour... But we are sure to learn a lot too. What do you mean you don't 'work'.... How many hours a week do you spend filming & editing these videos? ... That must be 30 hours a week? (a not-for-profit charity worker at least)
Truthfully, the video editing and bonsai work is 6 days a week (full time+). It definitely keeps me busy and the editing is taking longer and longer now I have started delving into what Davinci can do for me :)
You were the perfect passenger mate, I had such a good time, next time I’ll make sure I’ve a complete day so we could do the fried chicken afterwards 😅😅. For them watching this and wondering about the behind the scenes, Xav was recognised by so many people and it was a complete joy to watch him filming everyone and everything. I look forward to the next road trip. 🌳🌳
Feel free to drop me a message via expressionsbonsai@gmail.com. I have a good ear too and I have definitely been through some tough times. It would be greaat to hear about your bonsai collection and journey :)
The majority of mine are Chinese Elm. I do have one medium size corkbark and a lot of cuttings but nothing on the scale of this one...although once i prune it back it may be a lot smaller :)
Amazing video my friend....your content is amazing, the topics are relatable and it's entertaining.. Looking forward to your successes. Cheers & God bless! 🎉🎉🎉
Lovely to meet you Xavier, invoice is in the post haha. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the corkbark elm. Hope to catch up again soon. Keep up the fantastic work! - Richard.
Great video Xavier, well done on the purchase of the Elm . I think it would be great for you to do the class and do a video from your perspective of what goes on. I would also like to attend one someday in the future and spend a day learning how to do things properly , all the best,Martin
Great video ocne again 👍 I couldn't make it to the open day this year, but I managed to make it 2 weeks prior as it was my birthday 🎉. And brought myself my first Japanese White Pine and juniper (only starter trees) and got some great advice from Tony (volunteer) about them and my root-over-rock coneaster
@ your very welcome Xavier it’s a small price to pay for the many hours of enjoyment I have had watching you and your many great guests if you are interested in seeing my small collection of Bonsai trees how do I send you the photos to you again many thanks Xavier kind regards Paul
Great video... when you going to be working for mainstream TV doing interviews? Yes to the workshop .. I did the intro course earlier this year and was well worth it... the 2 trees are still alive 🙂
If I didn't live in the US, I would most definitely do a class at @ Greenwood Bonsai. Corin seems like a good guy and is so very smart with all of his trees. Cheers.
It was amzing watching how much he interacts with visitors and customers alike. No feeling that he wants you to buy - little or no pressure. It makes the visit so much more enjoyable and of course, you always end up buying something :)
Another great video Xavier. I can't wait to visit Greenwood next time I visit my daughter in England.. It's only an hour and a half from Stratford where she lives. Hope you're going to The trophy next year, I'd love to meet you in person. Cheers from Tuscany... Carlos
maybe you could drop in to see me at the same time - I am very close to Greenwood's. You would be very welcome to have a wander around my little garden :)
Hi Xavier what a fantastic day you guys had, some fantastic trees on show, you met quite a few people there who I am sure will now watch your channel, you also got a bargain tree which brings me to the guy you met up with and his wife, he said that Azalea cost 35.00, I had to reverse back to make sure I heard it right, if it was that price he more or less stole it, my son who made the sign reminded me that we went to Greenwood, he thinks in the 80's when Corin's dad Harry ran the business, it was nothing like it is now, in fact it was a bit run down, didn't buy any trees as far as we can remember. Have fun with your new tree. You are thinking of starting a workshop, that is a great idea you would be perfect doing it, with your personality, it would be great fun for anyone who turned up learning how to NOT do bonsai 😂. Just kidding they would learn a lot from you so I think you should try it just don't put too much pressure on yourself. Thanks for the video my friend.
Cheers Joe - the £35 comment was of course...one of my jokes. Might need to add a zero onto the end of that one. I won't do workshops but I am looking at going on one of Corin's and hopefully taping the day. It just depends if i can convince him :)
You're a natural behind the camera, you should definitely do a class. Not because you need it, but because it'll be funny for sure. I mean entertaining 😅 Did you work in Sales before you retired prematurely?
Hi Xavier I never thought for a minute you would show the filming you did you look and sound great myself however oh my god how common do I sound Black Country born and bred strong in the arm weak in the head lol 😂 no seriously had a fantastic day and you really are a kind sincere gentleman thank you Xavier hope to see you again sometime 🌴👍

Hopefully it can be arraanged - the only issue might be the other people on the workshop. Who knows...

I have been lucky twice at returning for a tree I liked. The Scots Pine was too big to get home anyway and I probably couldn't justify the expense :)
Indeed and agreed. Great place and a Treasure. Corin and his employees are knowledgeable and very nice indeed
