@@wowawewah Ah gotcha...I thought you were messing with me, lol. You turn on HDR in Windows. Search for "Windows HD Color Settings" in System Settings. Once there select the correct monitor and a "Use HDR" toggle should be there.
Dude congrats on 100 subscribers I didn't realize how small your channel was. I am a random recommendation UA-cam threw at me after reviewing my monitor on other channels. Maybe I clicked yours first? Not sure but either way good content very explanatory and touches on most things people would want to know about a monitor and I'm including your last video as well.
This monitor does have surprisingly good HDR (I had really low expectations coming from a HDR400 monitor), and would definitely keep it on in most games.
I've messed with it here and there. For a while I like it on usually until something gets buggy or I really have to mess with it. Then it because a hassle and I turn it off again.
Glad you're liking it! Usually when I notice the zones it's when the whole screen is really dark and something light (like the mouse) moves across the screen.
This monitor is on sale right now and I have been checking it out. I have one concern though: I have heard when playing HDR games the screen will auto dim after a few hours of use. Is that true? How long did you game on it before you gave this follow up. I just started playing CoD and it looks great weith HDR on as well as more casuakl titles I have played. Also thanks for your honesty about the dimming zones. Everyone who dislikes vertical dimming zones doesn't bother to mention that when they are utilized well you don't notice them unless the screen is right black.
HDR is so bad om it. Its rlly shame they didn’t go with edgelit instead of vertical zones. While playing in bright situations it’s not so noticeable but as soon you get into the dark areas it looks horrible rlly.
HDR does work but it mainly depends on the HDR support of the game. Cyberpunk has godly HDR but 1 more game that has terrific HDR support is the game Marvel's Avengers. Too bad the game sucks.
Thanks for making this video! I subbed and liked this video! Best wishes from Netherlands. Lynxo
How do you even turn on hdr on this monitor
you probably need to enable HDR in Windows. I have a video on how to do it :)
How do you even turn it on?
The power button on the bottom right...

Mine arrived yesterday. I am blown away. Absolutely fantastic monitor. Thanks for the info mate
which one will be better? AW2721D or ASUS ROG SWIFT PG279QM?

@@JByteTX I had a better experience on Windows 11 (Auto HDR?). Its a more hands off experience compared to Windows 10.
what brightness are you using?
50% brightness and 71% contrast.
which monitor is better for hdr this or samsung odyssey g7
Probably this one. Has a much higher peak brightness than the g7
Underated
Do you just turn on hdr in windows? I tried that and now the resident evil demo won’t load.
What’s it like for gaming as Ive just ordered one ? Is the picture nice and sharp.
It's great!
Thanks I have this monitor and wasn’t sure if HDR was worth playing with
Enjoy it
I’m in the process of buying this monitor. Do you recommend it with some of the others available on the market?
I think you can't go wrong with this one ESPECIALLY if you get it on sale...I haven't had a chance to play with any others recently.
Are you using Windows HDR? or in game HDR. I've got this monitor and trying to figure out optimum settings.
Well, I enable HDR in Windows and then enable it in game.
@@JByteTX rookie question how do I enable it in game like warzone ?
and why does my game look kinda yellow in warzone

Hey man, is aw3420dw worth to buy?
If you're looking for an ultrawide it looks like a decent monitor. Would be nice if it was at least 165Hz for a little more future proofing.
I own it. I love it to be honest. It's an amazing monitor. Have it a year now.
Hey man, my monitor arrived and, although I really liked it, it causes eyestrain (even on low brightness). Did you feel anything like that?
Nope, I literally look at this monitor for about 8 hours a day on average (work and gaming) and I haven't experienced anything like that.
Actually, I enabled HDR and games look reaaaallly good O.o
I have the AW2721D, can barely see the zones or whatnot... what should I look for?

@@JByteTX oh, well I barely notice it in games like Battlefield V or Star Wars Battlefront 2, these two games are a beauty :D

I'd go with what Iron uses... most wins in Warzone and he uses this monitor. clips.twitch.tv/TameFunChickpeaRedCoat

You should try Guardians of the Galaxy then. It looks great to me, much better game too than Avengers.
this monitor's hdr is a pure scam. 32 dimming zones are not real hdr.
Bought one for the 240hrtz but still trash at most game
Ya me personally lol. The monitor is great
