Really thinking I'm going to go with the HyperX, since I like to have my microphone in my shot when I stream. and it does look fantastic. Might be a little tricky with settings to get the quality as good as the elgato. but I think it's worth it.
I just bought the elgato wave 3 last week and love it. I also bought the shock mount and screen and also got the wave arm. The arm i think is highly underrated. Its such a great arm. I almost got the Hyper X because i would love to have it red to match my setup, but i just wanted to go all Elgato. Awesome review as always!!! Thanks
@@TheTechne so as an update.....The quadcast was on sale for black friday, so i returned the elgato and the shock mount and pop filter. I ended up saving so much since the hyperx was only $89 new for black friday. I couldnt pass up that deal. And it goes more with my red theme PC. Otherwise id still have the elgato i think.

What elgato has going is their software if u plan to use it for diff configs. I just use it basic for talking to friends online in games like discord. So id say go with the cheapest, or whatever pleases you aesthetically

Love my blue yeti x! New software update ads the option for Nvidia voice straight through the mic software. And it works fantasticly! Blocks out unwanted background noise very well. And blocks most of keyboard noise as well. Still gets me slammimg my desk in anger tho lol! Great mic for sure!

If you have other logitech peripherals than its perfect as itll use the same software. I have a g pro x superlight mouse. Logitech c922x webcam. Logitech keylight, and the blue yeti x all running on the same software.
@@harakiriiscenes Still working wonderfully! i use it all the time when i am playing games and people always ask if im a streamer or something because my mic quality is really good. havent run into any issues other than the original USB-C cable that came with it was pretty bad and became real dodgy when plugged into the mic. kind of like when you have a messed up phone charger and it has to be at the right position to get it to charge. but simply replacing the cable with another USB-C cable that i already had since most things are becoming USB-C. zero issues since!
It’s not as well built as the Yeti X and has less full & natural sound out of the box. It’s also more expensive. The only department it has a small advantage is software with good presets.
I checked out of this video when you said you were a plug and play guy. I think a lot of us are but getting the most out of something by simply downloading a software is super simple.
Perfect timing. I have been looking at getting the Wave3. I think I will end up going with that as it is smaller so pushing it out of the way it takes up less room. I just wish it and the accessories werent so expensive. Iirc the shock mount and pop filter are like 20-40 each and the mic itself is 140ish. Especially since it doesn't have the same build as the yeti which is cheaper. Also, off subject, I like the overlays you did with the logos. A cool addition.

I own the same laptop! it’s awesome :) and I’ll be buying the hyperx quadcast s. I think going with the hyperx quadcast s is a great option considering the raw mic quality is really good and you get rgb as well, and you can eq it in Voice meeter and make it sound better.
Toss up for me, blue yeti and elgato but I was looking for your pinned comment and didn’t see it. I’m leaning toward the blue yeti myself after hearing it here. I want the more radio sound with nice lows but still good highs. I really want a comparable mic to the one in my valve index vr headset… I’ve been using that one to record videos and it sounds amazing. It’s comparable to the blue yeti in my book.
honestly I would go with the yeti x just cause how simple it is to use out the box, with the wave 3 (just bought yesterday) I had some trouble setting up the software and it also wasn't going well with my wireless headset
@@ProjectLabz In his original review he used the mic wrong, and the gain was really bad. In this video he faced the top of the mic towards his mouth, and adjusted the gain with the mics controls. It sounds way better now.
I personally own the blue yeti nano and it does ok but have to mess with voicemeeter banana to get the lows I want. If the wave 3 have been available I would have bought that.
Yea. I typically sit 8-12 inches away from the Yeti X with a Samson -PSO4 pop filter and I switch between 3 & 4 gain levels. Just test them out. Sound is AWESOME… I don’t even use the Blue Sherpa/Voice software 👍
so i have a mic issue with my hyperer X quad cast , when i say something loud, it would cut the sound fully, been copying peoples ideal settings but it still cuts the sound

If ur gamer that wants a good mic i recommend to spend no less than 50 bucks eg seiren mini solocast and snowball ice best 3 cheap mics for gaming not streaming
In terms of mic sound I think it's Yeti X > Wave 3 > Quadcast > Siren V2 Pro. The Yeti is very crisp and full bodied, there's nothing about it that sounds digital or fake. I'd put the Wave / Quadcast in the same league, with the Wave having clearer mids and highs but the Quadcast having a bid more warmth. The Siren just sound pretty mediocre and also speaking into the top sucks.
I stream with just a normal Blue Yeti. I really like it. I was debating between that and the Quadcast. Ended up getting the yeti because it was on sale for $100. However, I do think the Wave 3 is the best looking. Looks kind of retro to me and I like that. As far as Razer goes, I don't think I'd ever buy a Razer product that isn't a headset. I have the leviathan soundbar which sounds great, but it started going wrong like, a couple months after getting it. And I was gonna get a ripsaw HD but I read online that they can be kind of a hassle to get to work right. But another solid video by The Techne. Good job man. Always like seeing what you are reviewing

I always thought the hyper x qoudcast was one of the ugliest microphones ever😅 it looks more like a toy then a professional microphone, but most UA-camrs like the look so it's probably me🤣😂
@@kittykittygumdrops the sm7b is leagues above these microphones. They’re used in professional podcasts & pretty much all the top streamers use it. It’s even used in music recording, from Prince to Bruno mars, it’s tried and true since like the 70s/80s

SM7B is a dynamic microphone so you have to keep it very close to your mouth. . .the audio in this video is raw and unedited thats why it sounds slightly low, otherwise the elgato software can even make a cheap mic sound like a decent one
The Elgato has the massive advantage on the software side if you want to stream, otherwise it doesn’t really matter

what do you think of RTX voice and Krisp, do you think AI software can “equalize” mics so their quality doesnt matter as much?

So I have the dt990 pros, soundblaster g6. Last thing I need is a mic. How would a pair a mic such as the elgato or the hyper x to the g6?
