I like the Lennox gold utility blades. I put those in the Milwaukee fastback with the screwdriver. Not a small knife but works well, except being left handed, these knives are designed for righties.
If that leatherman takes slot bits you can buy a leatherman bit extender (takes the screwdriver bits in a tool set) or leatherman bit kits to give you more sizes and even a micro screwdriver for glasses. I've got both and they work great in a pinch.
Just subscribed - helping you make it to 100k hahaha I met you at SF last year (and actually you helped with lighting on one of my daughter's shoots the year before) I loved your class - great teaching style!
A long time ago, I went skiing in Finland, packing to head home and couldn't find my multi tool to put it in checked luggage. Assumed I'd lost it, got to the airport and watched my hand luggage go back and forth on the X-ray machine and then got the bag pulled. Taken off to the side, "you have a Leatherman?" Um, yes sorry I thought I lost it Not a problem, it looks like it's in this pocket, can I have your boarding card? I find the multi tool, security guy pulls out a small cardboard box and puts the tool in it, disappears off and comes back with the boarding pass and another luggage sticker. Go to the special collection desk when you land. Sure enough, go to the luggage hall at Gatwick and see somebody walk the box to the special/oversized desk and handed the box over Can't see that happening these days
Seth!! You brought back floods of memories of my best mate who passed away few years ago! Like you he was a magician too! Stick your hand in a pocket and out comes yet another useful gadget :) I always enjoy your videos and live sessions, but this one even more so. Thanks man!
It’s awesome video and provides totally different angle of view. I suspect most people thought you’d be showing collection of lenses and bodies and the likes. What you showed was something out of John Wick - Parabellum !! 😂
Interesting. FYI - just in case you're travelling to the UK, we have very strict laws re knives and blades; specifically that very nifty money clip blade would be classed as a "disguised knife" and is illegal to possess or bring into the UK, even in checked luggage!
I have been stopped and frisked in that era and I lost tools. Stickers. Markers and whatever else cops felt like claiming were worth making up stories about
One of my every day carry is a Leatherman 'Mini' .... I find the scissors far more useful for opening tamper-proof packaging and other chores, as opposed to having pliers.
What I attempt to do for any equipment I own is change all fasteners to hex head types. I have 5 hex key wrenches and Combination Wrenches. Have not had a issue on Domestic or international flight carrying these wrenches. Security in Germany did inspect my tool bag once and approval the key hex heads and warn me not to attempt to pack T-handle hex wrenches in the carry on. The scalpel is a really go idea.
Thanks Seth! I do have a multi tool in my camera bag. How about Allen wrenches (hex wrenches)? Seems like when I order something L bracket or arca swiss plate for tripod they always send me an Allen (hex) wrench. Long time ago I use to work in a bicycle shop and we called them Allen wrenches.
Informative video Seth and good info on the go to tools. Do you think your could do a video on fixed and variable ND filters for photography. Most of the videos on UA-cam I've seen are videography centric. Thanks
@@LastXwitness my goal is to able be to shoot wide open with my 50 1.2 in bright sunny conditions. I know I can adjust the shutter speed and ISO, but there are times this does not do the trick. My thought is to incorporate an ND filter, but as I mentioned I don’t any experience with them.
Always wondered which Leatherman/Multi-Tool you carried. I have seen you pull it out of your pocket a bunch of times on live streams but always forgot to ask in the chat.
Just a quick one for ya to snack on .. trying to keep this channel active and momentum going.. let me know what tools you carry on you all the time!
I LOVE that gerber. Good for quick travel. Take the blade out, fly, drop a couple bucks on new blades when you arrive.
Yea I’ve had a few. And def Lost a few lol
the screwdriver on the key ring is what I use weekly!! Comes in super handy.

Yea I can see that. Lefties have it rough

Congratulation on your big bump of subs! You are one of a kind. I'm a big fan.
Really appreciate that thank you!
You have no idea how much I would like to visit that studio.

I should really get some sort of multitool for tightening and loosening tripod plates and such. Been using my house keys for years.
Yea ya should

Great to see a new video, mate, and it's so good to see you've reached 55.4K subscribers!
Appreciate that thank you
I lived in NYC for 15 years... When i was getting stopped and frisked i would have been gone if i had all that on me.

I use the pliers for soooo much stuff
Fun and I carry a SOG key (looks like a key) that’s a small knife blade. Goes on my key chain and is super handy and it’s cheap. I love it.
Cool

as far as what? whats the aspect youre trying to figure out?
TBH I just done know. I have little to no experience shooting with ND filters.

Check out really right stuff. They have tools that will fold up and slip inside their tripod which is pretty cool.
Yea I’ve seen that
💙
Great, useful video.
Glad it was worthwhile
You should design your own
If only… I’m not “influential” enough for any brand to thinks I’m worth designing anything lol

Seems a few people have I never woukda thought but here’s your answers
How do you get thru tsa with multi tool
did you watch the whole video? I explain they have to go into checked baggage wrapped up if not TSA compliant
Yea i did, and caught that at the end
I always carry small flashlights in my pocket
I used too but my phones fine for what I need. I throw mag lights in my bags tho
