Now I have fully got in to GMing the game I would defiantly like to see modiphius do this with more of the stories and a review of it from the players and or creator.

The only reason I can think of that they don't do this more is because they are constantly making new games. They probably get more profit from that than promoting or improving current games, which is needed more imo. STA is a gem they could mine forever of done right

Recently bought the game and have been trawling through the rules. Watching this has really helped make them come to life. Great gaming by all and good fun to watch.
    Thanks, subbed for more. 😉

This was great fun and had a very "Trek" feel to it. That's the beauty of the system, I guess. I would love to see more.

This was a great series, and everyone involved did such an amazing job. So much so, I'm purchasing the book and dice and my group has agreed to a campaign once we finish our D&D 5e campaign in another month. Really enjoyed watching his and again, fantastic job all!

I can understand the 5 videos want to show off the game, but 3 of the videos are basically combat, and the other two are light in the roleplaying and exposition. I felt like it was really missing the problem solving, diplomacy and ingenuity of the TNG era Trek. Perhaps the session on the planet that you skipped could be added to the playlist?

Hey there, thanks for that feedback.
I think, if we were to do this again, we'd definitely change a few things and not skip past that bit on the planet. Like you said, it's very Star Trek, and I think you're right that missing it was a mistake.
Maybe take a look at some of the archived stuff from our Twitch streams, and see what you think of those!

@@Modiphius after posting the comment I went on to watch Layers, and it's really well done. It's exactly what I'd expect of a Trek RPG! It's a shame that's a full length homebrew scenario, whereas this is the scenario in the starter pack.
Will you guys start steaming again? Perhaps you could redo Signals? 😃

@@iwantagoodnameplease Glad you liked it! I'll let the team know!
As far as streaming goes, we're looking into it. Everything got a bit crazy with lockdown, but we're looking into options right now.
If we did stream again, what sort of thing would you like to see? (Although, we'll probably do something new, rather than try Signals again ;) )

@@Modiphius Definitely more ST:A, rather than the other d20 systems :) As for specifics, I can't really give any as I'm still new to the whole system. I'm not even sure what I'd watch more out of : one-shots, a full campaign, or a "season" of procedural episodes.
For content: More politics/diplomacy/technobabble, less shooting.
For eras: I'd say the default TNG (or post-Voyager) era though rather than TOS though. That's about the only thing I know I prefer :)
Frankly, you lot should run whatever you enjoy playing, as long as you put more content up demonstrating your games and how they play! :)

I was under the impression that effects results on dice also count as 1 damage each? is that not the case? Also in the last episode you moved all the Uhlans at once and I was under the impression the rounds went Player, NPC, Player, NPC, Player, NPC, etc until the team with the lowest amount of members is done and then the other group finishes up their team and then its back and repeats?

arent you supposed to go back and forth? instead of 1 player, 1 Romulan, 1 player, several Romulans? also, what happened to spending 2 momentum to remove complications?

    • @krisyoder9961
      @krisyoder9961 9 місяців тому

      That's what I thought.
They also are misinterpreting the Challenge Dice sometimes. An Effect should count as 1 damage, AS WELL as adding an Effect.

Excellent gameplay, loved watching it, I did have a question though that I am confused about. @modiphius During the combat the Uhlans acted as a group multiple going at once? Is that supposed to happen? I thought they each acted separate having to hand play back to the players in between. Can anyone clarify that?

Not sure about this system specifically, but a lot of RPG systems let you group weaker minions together so they take their turn together.

Really enjoyed this! Modiphius throw some more money in and upgrade the camera microphones? Would love to see some more adventures, but perhaps release all at once instead of 30 mins per week (it lost momentum, pun intended). LLAP!

I backed it on Kickstarter, but I have no experience with the 2D20 rules.

I would love to play this but sadly there is no way to see if its even something that I would like. If I wanted to get into any D&D game for example, I could look up all of the rules and game mechanics and character creation info online so I can see if its something I would get into and want to spend money on...Sadly with this as far as what I have found, in order for me to even see how the game is played, or what stats are or how they work and how to even make a character and all that, I have to spend at minimum like 60-70$. Is there any information out there on what character stats mean and what they do and rules for how the game works?

    • @swagromancer

You can get the core rulebook as pdf for like $20. Or the starter set as pdf for $10, which contains everything you need to get a nice overview of the game's core mechanics.

Never played D&D before. But somehow game across this Star Trek version of it and being a Trekkie, and then watching this video series. It actually got me interested, looks like it could be alot of fun, though I imagine too a newb really confusing at first. But OMG when I checked pricing and that just for the rulebook? And that doesnt include the price of that screen. I hate to think what the rest costs all those extras. Gotta say for newb, those prices are totally off-putting espeically if I then find out, that yeah, this sort of do it yourself gameplay story adventure, just isnt for me. (sorry, like I say total newb, I've heard of D&D but thats it, never played or seen anyone play).

Hey there, welcome to tabletop gaming!
Regarding price, we know it can be daunting to shell out for a game and all the bits when you're not sure about it. So, would maybe suggest giving the Starter Set a try? www.modiphius.net/collections/star-trek-adventures/products/star-trek-adventures-starter-set
It's back in stock on our site by Christmas, although you could buy it from someone else - we won't mind, honest. ;)

Opposed checks where both can succeed is the most nonsense game logic I've ever heard of. In a true contest, success is mutually exclusive; the failure of one IS the success of the other! Pure silliness.
