About a month ago, I found a $5 ticket on the ground walking out of the gas station. I've never won more than $5 off of one, but since whoever dropped it had left, I kept it. Ended up being a $50 winner!
I dropped a $5 scratcher on the ground in Biloxi, i noticed fairly quick. Looked up ndown the parking lot, it was pretty windy and never found it. I was so sad. The very week befor i found a 5$ bill same parking lot and turned it in. I checked to see if anyone came back to get it and the man said yes, right after i left someone came in saying they had dropped their money and was so happy that someone had turned it in. In return it made me very happy, Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

One of my employees, Gabriel, didn’t have enough to pay rent. He spent what he had on lottery tickets, not one or two dollars but expensive. I needed money for gas badly at a station one day to get home. I only had $5. I purchased a $5 scratch off and I won $50! Whew it was a gamble that paid off that day.
I will continue trying it my way. Go to the store . Instead of putting $20 for gas , put $15 and by either 5 $1 tickets or live on the edge and put all my eggs in one basket and buy one $5 ticket . Sit in the car after I put gas then scratch my tickets and regret that I didnt put $20 worth of gas in my tank .

If it makes you feel better, I once only had $8 to my name (a five dollar bill and 3 bucks in random change). Got myself a (losing) $5 scratch off ticket and $3 in gas LMAO. In my somewhat defense, my 4 year old was with me and he really wanted the one with the Corvette on the front so I got it instead of the $3 one I normally get. Of course, I'm sure it made me look even MORE irresponsible having a small child with me and being at night 😆. It wasn't really quite as bad as it looked though because I was less than 2 miles from my house and I drive a Hybrid, so I just had to make it that super short distance and then was plugging my vehicle in overnight giving me enough juice to make it to work and back the next morning. Even so, I guarantee that the gas station attendant was feeling so bad for my kid while side eyeing me and thinking "Dang this little blonde chick is flakier than a buttermilk biscuit!" 🤣🤣🤣

In order to win something every time you play, you must buy four to five of the same ticket. Not just one ticket of $30 or one ticket of $20 401 ticket of $10. If you look on the back of the ticket says what are the overall odds of winning and it'll say 1.4 or 1.5 or 1.3 I usually buy four or five tickets of the same amount from the same line and I always win at least the amount I spent, Sometimes more.

I've also used this method before....i.e. buy 5 or 6 of the same game that have 1 in 3 (33%) win odds. Sometimes I won but most times lost or just broke even, as the chance of losing in that game is 2 out of 3 (66%). They should print THAT on the ticket instead ;-). On the flip side, I've purchased a single $20 scratch-off and won $1,000. It's all about chance. In the end, I've lost much more than I've won because that's how lotteries work...some win but most lose. That said, I'll keep periodically trying to land the big one!

Twenty years ago I was in college and worked at a shell gas station. Back then there were ways to look thru the roll and spot winners by little black lines on the back of tickets or some type of offset in pattern from the loser tickets. The lotto industry has gotten way better at hiding the winning tix since then. My boss actually got fired for taking rolls of lottery tickets into the office scratching them finding the winners pocketing the money and paying back the cash register. We weren't even allowed to buy lottery tickets if we worked there because of this.

I do live near some Arabs (Middle Eastern looking guys... they are "very nice" to me (Specially the youngest son) and always encourage me to play. However, I always lose. Highest I've gotten in their stores is like $100. The funny thing is that the store has had 5 "10K winning tickets" and guess who has bought everyone of them? "The son". There are ways some people figure out how to spot winners and even how much is the amount. For instance, here in Texas you must win over $599 and you must go to the Texas Lottery commission to claim the prize. So it seems that, this guy has found a way to spot winning tickets that are over $599. That is very suspicious. (I started with why bring up Mexicans because I do not know any Mexican that owns convenience stores. I am sure there are, but I haven't yet seen one in Texas :D )

Exactly how I play.. 2 bucks here and there can potentially be a come up, and even if i spend what I win, its still a fun little thing to do for hope that one day you'll get the grand prize.. hell 15 to 20 grand would be life changing for someone like me who doesn't have parents or resources, a little hope can go a long way.
I sold a $l00,000 winning ticket on five $2 tickets one time. It was just a normal day. The guy came in purchased 5 tickets and went out the door. About 10 minutes later, he comes back through the door looking like a damn Wildman. Hair all messed up, face red as a tomato and he said " I THINK I WON!!" So I scanned the ticket and bells started ringing. Yes, he won $100,000!!!! The only real advice for buying scratch offs is to check the numbers. All game titles have a certain number of "big prizes". So before you buy,go online and see which ones have already been awarded and which ones havent had any.

Think of a book like a single ticket in a book. That single book is in the total printing of hundreds of books. You wouldn't set your expectations very high with just a single ticket...so you shouldn't expect much from a random single book, either. A very, very small few (1? 2? 3? depends on the game) will contain that $1,000,000 payout, but most will be duds.

The lottery, in this day and age, would NEVER put ANYTHING that could be IDENTIFIED/viewed on a lottery ticket which would indicate whether or not it "might" be a winner (without scratching/purchasing the ticket). You are incorrectly correlating two non-related issues.

From my experience with the "white line" in NY, buy at least 3 of the tickets that follow it.
These things are funny. So far the most I've ever won was $7.00 with a $1 ticket and I think I actually bought 2 of them. I saw a guy at the grocery win $1,000. And my brother knew a guy who won $100k who opened a barber shop and I know a couple who won $50k. Also, my uncle won $30k in Vegas and blew it all in one week or something going crazy with fancy hotels and expensive restaurants with his boyfriend back in the 80's. But lol I don't know any million $$ winners. I guess it's all depends on buying the right tickets at the right time. Not something you can really preplan.
I met a millionaire from the lottery once. He was still playing and the story he had for us was a bit sad and emotional. We like to feel like we have to be the helping hand , but he was being taken advantage of by his family, and then the money he gave them was being begged for from other people he had already given money to. It was a hot mess. He paid off his debt and took care of his family and not once went on a vacation or big trip just for winning. I think he was suicidal when he won, said that it came right on time when he was at the end of his rope and had no one for support. Now, he’s still in that same position of little support and life struggles, but he’s debt free and he tried to help his family. But now he’s back “normal” like the rest of us, no excess of money because he gave most to the family

If I ever buy scratch offs I only buy the $20 or $30 ones because they have the best odds to win your money back. Not the best odds to win a lot of money don't get that twisted. I also always buy 5 in a row of the same one. I don't think I have ever bought 5 in the row without making at least 80% of my money back. One time I won $500, but that's about it. I usually go back and spend the say $80 if I bought 5 $20 tickets on more tickets, win like $40 on those, and then buy more, win maybe a free ticket, then lose. Long story short, this is a great way to waste money!!!!
My recently deceased Uncle who was a Vietnam Veteran won half a mill on a $10 scratch off almost a decade ago! I haven’t had a good win in awhile though. NJ is either getting stingy with the lottery winnings or I just suck at picking winners lol. Gotta be in it to win it though!
Was getting 10 of an older hard to find Christmas ticket ( that still had 1/2 its big prizes out). The # sequence would have been 97- 106. The cashier ripped it at 105, KEPT 106 & gave me 107. Made me curious.

These are a scam....Save those 1$ bills instead and by the end of the year you can get yourself something you actually need or stop by a thrift store or something and get something you can resell at a profit. I was told years and years ago that there would always be at least one winner between the two white lines which could be any number of tickets apart. I used to buy a LOT of tickets and never had that advice to fail.

@@LaniLongGreen When you buy scratch off tickets every so often there is a white line on a run of tickets between two of the tickets. It could be every 5 tickets or every 10 tickets etc.. It's random. If you buy 10 one dollar tickets and lay them out before you tear them apart the white lines are obvious.

I don’t get it, there are literally no secrets mentioned in this video.
As a printer l can tell the white line means the end and beginning of the print, there is no way of knowing if it`s a winner as you just seen or not. They are all winners until you scratch them.
I’ve found out that more than likely if you scratch a number that is right above or below a winning number, the ticket is loser. All but once that happened to me. I’ve also won $1,000 twice on the Golden Ticket scratch off.

Usually win when white line is at top an I've hit 500.00 before an 10 mins later bought a 10 ticket an hit another 1000.00.an all I had in my pocket to start with was 23.00

The number of the ticket can actually be the end of a roll depending how they are put into the dispenser , some places put the rolls in backward. i have bought many # 1 tickets and that was the end of the roll.

All these sorts of advices are myth. The same role is arbitrary. It all gets shipped out at random. The law of large numbers dictates that every roll that goes to a different store is going to have roughly the same amount of winners in it.
The odds of winning in these tickets used to be a lot better years ago but at some point the lottery corporation/government got greedier and the odds in the player's favour decreased. Here in Canada they even sell 50 dollar scratch off packets now. I won't touch those. Too risky.

I only see one other comment on the fact that he did miss #34 in the bottom area that definitely matched one of his winning numbers. I hope he didn't throw it away but people throw away winners all the time without realizing they won because either there was not a scanner available for the barcode or they were too old fashioned to do it with a machine. Lol. You don't have to scratch all the #'s unless you really want to just scratch the barcode area and scan it the machine will tell you if it's a winner.

I think scratching is part of the fun. Sometimes I don’t bother. Other times I genuinely want to actually play and scratch.
I used to buy these tickets but like very rarely.
I saw a video about a guy that spent his whole salary, something like a thousand something on these scratchers and he didn’t win much.
It’s extremely hard to get anything other than a dollar or 20 haha
Buts that takes away the point
I had to laugh. So many times all you walk away with in these lottery tickets is a black thumb. The conversation this guy had was the same conversation I have all the time. I have however developed a foolproof method of buying scratchers. First make no mistake, the tickets are not random! Everything is meticulously planned out by their supercomputer... you don't win anything by chance. You must buy at least three tickets (preferably four) in a row with respect to any game that you're playing. The general rule is, that their super compter allows you to win at least one time in those three cards (buy 4 if you have the extra cash) . Play new games. Their strategy is to allow people to win in the new games, so that people will get hooked. After enough people get hooked on this particular game, that's when they turn the screws real tight and you're barely lucky to get out with a free ticket. Sometimes on a new ticket they hemorrage cash.... not big money but a $100, $50... sometimes even $500... etc etc. After a month of having the ticket, you will discover noticeably a severe drop-in winnings.... that's when you hightail it out of there.
So you DO make a lot of points I totally agree with...tightening as the promo phase I call it ends....etc..but the 4 ticket combo is what THEY WANT u to do. In the reality of 4 ticket buying u could win the face value of one (buy x4. $5 tickets and win 5 back )...then u have a higher chance to lose on the other 3
Scenario 2...a scratch off junky Is chasing a roll in-store ...they win big and leave...here u come and buy 4 losers
Lottery is closely related to drug use...it doesn't do anything to your body but does to your pockets like crack or others would..
The similarity is that too many people have nothing better to do but ruin the games by playing the way they do obsessively. The lotteries all know this and bank on this because they know the junky type puts it right back in or goes and spends it back into society faster than the casual player
And if someone wins 2 or 3 in a row...I have been the victim of up to 10 losers In a row

Have you ever realized the “texture” of the latex, when scratched, plays a HUGE difference in determining if it’s a winner or not. I made the mistake of telling a few shop owners and ever since then, I never get the “smooth” sliders and I haven’t won nearly as much as I used to!
The answer no...cause that's not an existent thing. There is no such factor. I been playing for around 25 years or so now and looked out for this along with many other possibilities. This isn't true and neither is the "white line border" theory. In fact when I get a white line ticket I tend to win on the NEXT more consistently

I love Virginia’s scratchers because they are letter coded. You just got to find the letters to see if you’ve won. If you find a B P or Z you lost. They are usually hiding in the bottom quarter of the s rather. It saves so much time.
I always have the clerk pick out the ticket for me. Since I've started doing this my chances of winning have increased dramatically.

I think it depends where you buy them. On most tickets I've won I buy them at the lottery kiosk. Not a liquor store or anything. But then again it's all random and that's just my experience. Everyone's is different.

I usually try first to scratch off the symbol that is scanned to determine if the card is a winner - if not, no more scratching! Less mess! 😂

I go straight to the BAR CODE and scratch. lol Who got time to be making all those scratches. I don't. When you check the scratch-offs to see if you won, you gonna scan the BAR CODE to see if you won anyway. So why bother with all that confusement.
not always true, you more than likely got a good batch of tickets, I've been reading a lot about how the tickets are distributed, so many winners of each set amount per "area of distribution". They also do things like sell a certain % of tickets before any of the grand prizes are released or printed, that way when the allotted amount of time for the ticket run has expired, it makes it less likely for one, left alone every grand prize to have ever even been printed left alone distributed to a merchant. It's interesting to what extent lottery companies will go to in order to promote a false sense of being able to win the big prize. I mean, they say they space them out equally throughout the full run, but if most runs only reach 40-50% completion before they pull the ticket from market, say they have a minimum run of 20% before the first grand prize is printed and space the grand prize winners out equally as well... that means at best the first is printed at 20%, the remainder 2 grand prizes are spread out equally meaning 80%/2= 40%.... leaving it right around 60% before 2 grand prizes could be printed... run stops usually around half way... so that takes you down to 1 grand prize that wont pop up until atleast 20%... so its possible the ticket could never even make it to the shelf. These are rough numbers and dont reflect any certaint companie's percentages, but that just gives you an idea of how they basically have people thinking they can ACTUALLY win, but with the manipulation of ticket placement, the fact the full run of tickets will never get printed and then just the odds of winning reguardless of the aforementioned scandalous activites..... its not impossible, but very improbable for the conditions to be met that a single grand prize even make it to the market. on the other hand there is some good news..... gambling losses... are tax deductible, even scratch offs but they come with a catch. you MUST claim winnings, and you can ONLY claim a loss that equals your winnings, so basically you can only claim the money you won and theoretically "respent" on more tickets.

You know i used to spend alot of money on scratch offs and had a bad gambling problem and it's hard to find help for it gambling is more taboo than almost any other addiction i couldn't even find a gamblers anonymous meeting in my town but I stopped a for a whole day and it got easier after that and a medication for my mental disorder had a class action lawsuit against them and I backed tracked my gambling career and it started around the time I took abilify I'm not even sure if the med is still on the market but scratch offs had a big hand in ruining my credit my relationship with my family and had a big deal with the fact that i was homeless a few times and all the losers pay for the winners im glad I don't play anymore

Once made $ 1,000 dollars on a two dollar scratch ticket. Every trip my driver and I stop at fox Creek to stock up the bunk refrigerator As we settled into our north bound leg of the Edmonton / Whitehorse produce run.
We always joked about winning enough to say. "Take this job and shove it" We both wone a lot of free play's and the odd ten dollar win.
I was completely shocked I scratched for matching numbers. Had I of scratched the proper bonnes number this $1,000 dollar would have been $100,000 dollars.. But $1,000 was much better then nothing..

Used to be if you got 17 and 15 on same ticket in NY it was going to be a winner ! In 6 months in Florida I never won more than what i paid for the ticket , no matter the denomination of the ticket !

People need to remember that if it says the chances of winning 1-3 or whatnot doesn’t mean Buy 3 and 1 will be a winner. The back to back winners throws that off. I bought 3 $30 scratchers that had 1:2.71 odds of winning and All 3 of my $30 scratchers hit for a price (1st ticket=$30/ 2nd ticket= $50/ 3rd ticket=$30). I got more $30 scratchers (but a different game) and As I scratched the other 2 people came in and bought the $30 game I had just played And won from. One lady bought 2 and a guy bought 6 and non of them won. So that was 8 in a row that didn’t hit and again the odds were 1:2.71. It’s honestly just luck. The white line on the ticket doesn’t win either. I have about 300 white line scratchers to prove it’s not a marking of a winning ticket. Anyways it’s all luck so don’t go off the odds. Play more expensive scratchers to get better odds that’s it.
