- After a three year absence from boxing, Ricky speaks candidly about the high and low points of his career in this one hour special. "i want people to be proud of me again" ....
Oh ricky, ill always be proud of you, win lose or draw.
Leon I’ll make that 💯 likes hell yer
A great career, lovely family, set for life and loved by thousands of fight fans. A winner on every level!!! You did well Ricky....
Millions of fight fans
👍
He will never be defined for his losses, but for the many thousands that followed him around the world, who loved him for what he represented. I do hope that he finds peace in the knowledge that those very followers weren’t just fans because he was winning boxing matches, but because of what he stood for and where he was from. All the best Rik 👍
This was the man who got me into boxing, legend
@Martin England who gives a shit about the fans? I'd rather have the money!!!
Pacman was knockout cold but he has redeemed himself and now at the top of the world again.
You can do it too Ricky!
Pacman now is a senator of the philippines and a pastor teaching the word of God...
Visit the philippines ricky you are welcome to visit the philippines
@@manuelbuado864 good for him
depression is no laughing matter. It can strike anyone, anytime.
Yeah, exactly!
Yep it can be a very VERY dark place.
Your total right depression is no laughing matter I have suffered from it in the past due to bereavement and I really couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel felt like I had let a lot of people down that I care for and a wee bit like Ricky I thought I had to redeem myself with starting getting myself fit and done boxing myself won the both fights I have had so far fight again in March if I can beat depression if anyone can just have faith !!!!
Truely said mate, I had all the confidence in the world as I was this close to have a successful career in boxing but depression striked me for no where.
dvdmsch it can ... high energy sport .. with all the fame and frills.. it's easy to see how it can unbalance the mind when the balloon floating high comes crashing down
Always loved Hatton! Proper bloke. Mental health can effect any of us.
I love the understatement of people like Hatton and Calzaghe. They fought out off dirty little gyms and avoid the smoke and mirrors, yet they still became champions. It just shows that heart can get you a long way.
+bofursgun yeah and calzahge is the Aston martin
Hatton could box don’t worry about that he fought he’s mega fights when they was in there prime the same can’t be said for joe
Major MajorMajor definitely man. Good point. 🙏👊🤝
aaron pryor could be worse we could set up UA-cam accounts pretending to be famous boxers, it depends what you class as inferior.... if you think being able to run fast but still living in mud huts in the year 2019 makes you superior then that explains your short comings
Hatton > calzaghe
I met Ricky in Bahrain when I was out there with the Royall Navy,he came over to a table of 16 of us and had a few beers, sound bloke glad I got to meet one of my heroes
Ricky is and always will be one of the greatest in my heart.
He was a true champion
but ... no
Hatton had no shame to losing to mayweather or pacquiao there the 2 best fighters of the generation
No shame in losing against 2 of the best in the era.
Most experts said he didn't stand a chance in either fight, which was about right
@Manchesterz Finest Colin Hart and other boxing writers + pundits said Hatton only stood an outside chance of winning. Joe Cortez wasn't the one who knocked Hatton out
@Manchesterz Finest Pacroid refused to take the test. Then after, it was his bad shoulder ... and so on
@Manchesterz Finest You are right when you say Joe Cortez didn't ref the bout properly. However, Hatton was too limited to beat a Mayweather - bull vs matador
@Manchesterz Finest Brits
This man has nothing to be ashamed of can’t think of another boxer who had the support base that he had he is and always will be a hero there only one Ricky Hatton 🥊🥊🥊🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Spot on, read once he had the biggest following of any sportsman on there own not part of a team...when he fought mayweather he had the biggest crowd around the ring....
@@chrisoutlaw7298 33 thousand went to Vegas for the mayweather fight nobody else can take that over the pond tyson fury took some amount of fans to but not like Ricky Hatton
Been where Ricky was (obviously on a much much smaller scale) But the thrills and the buzz you get from boxing is unreal. Having your arm raised after a win is better than any drug...but when the down days come, the hit hard. I was silly when I was away from boxing but this comeback inspired me to change and I'm living healthy.
Who says this was a bad thing. Ricky Hatton near on saved my life
he has our respect in mexico. land of great warriors.
I love how Ricky gets his hair done at the local bob standard barbers that blatantly isn’t more than a tenner. He’s a world apart from the likes of Mayweather and true salt of the earth proud Englishman.
People will always be proud of you Ricky, you make me proud to have British blood.
He was really hit hard by manny, not only physically but mentally and emotionally. But he came back, nice to know it. 👏👏👏
not by manny exactly since since he fought 1 more time after that fight
I think he's too harsh on himself. He lost to two exceptional opponents, not journeyman nobodies. But I suppose there are more deep rooted issues involved as well. I hope he's in better shape mentally now because he was a brilliant fighter.
+Andy Horn I agree 100% and in reality he lost to I true warrior in Manny Pacquiao who laid it on the line like a true man just like Ricky did like true warriors do and ended up KOd just like he did against Marquez, Floyd Mayweather jr on the other hand, he's just a guy that learned early on in boxing that he was fast and had quick reflexes but didn't have powerful punch to complete his arsenal, so he climbed several weight divisions and used tiring tactics against his opponents by running and holding and would engage minimally just enough to steal rounds, Floyd Mayweather jr back in the day when Ricky and Manny fought, would of suffered the same fate Ricky did but at least Ricky went out on his shield like a real man, Floyd would of ran and tried to hold Manny but back then Manny boxed less he would just go at you like a wrecking ball and he would of destroyed Mayweather back then easily while trying to run from him, the only one that has ever been effective against Pacquiao is a pure counter puncher in Manuel Marquez, the type of fighter Ricky Hatton was is the type of fighter that gives you those special fight moments like Duran, Ward and Gatti, you know you've come to see a fight, a Gladiator Sport represented by true Gladiators
+javier migoya did you watch the fight between hatton and floyd? Floyd landed some hellashus shots to ricky, he was a shot fighter by the time he fought manny, but i love how causuals will always bring up "how floyd would've gotten his ass kicked if they fought in their primes" on videos that have nothing to do with manny vs floyd.
+javier migoya well said, mate. spot on.
Andy Horn
pound for pound ricky battens a world class fighter well he is tonne anyway I hope he's well and doing well to yours Alan Johnson from Leicestershire.
I’m from America and Ricky gets nothing but the up most respect!! A true Champion- a true warrior!!
This comeback saved my life, I've recently met Ricky and just said thank you for coming back. I don't think he understood what I meant but I know that this comeback inspired me to turn my life around.
Just being nosey, how you getting on now m8?
stop UFO fakes good thanks mate, currently had 10 amateur fights, won 8 of them. The weight has dropped rapidly and healthy mind and body.
This is a very old comment I hope your ok and doing well mate
This guy is a legend
Great majority of Filipinos in the Philippines have high regards for Ricky Hitman Hatton!
mad respect for ricky hatton.
Hatton is a man of the people and its no surprise that he is loved. Nice guys can be winners and Hatton is testament to that.
The following, and absolute unwavering love and support this guy received was, and still is, remarkable really. Before any Irishman was chanting ole, the British fans were out in fans were out in force to support Ricky Hatton. Before there was a Connor McGregor, boxing had Rick Hatton.
The Gent The Irish had Barry McGuigan in the 80's long before Hatton.
British fans love, respect and adore their champions IMMENSELY more than us Americans.
That is because American fighters are scared overprotected bums.
Thats just not true..........At the moement it does seem that its our (brits) time to shine in boxing, but America has produced some amazing boxing talent. Why do we need to make the about what country or race someone is\from.
IwantAgoodCleanFight Anthony Joshua? Tyson Fury?
Sven Ottke.....greetings to you sir from a UK boxing fan! A remember watching your fight with Robin Reid!😁.....bravo!
aaron pryor Hahaha! Come on now!..That's not true at all and you know you're just trolling! Lol
Isn't the UK currently ruling the HW division atm with winners like Joshua, Fury and Whyte?
Anyway Ive noticed you've been quiet lately since your boy Wilder has been stinking up the place with his cowardly antics! Lol
Amazing woman, to have stood by him like that.
True🥊
Ricky Hatton is a legend within British boxing and he should remember it. Congrats on a brilliant career, Ricky!
Amazing what a hard time he gave himself... I can say he brought an excitement to my life in staying up to watch this wonder boy do his thing all them years ago, as I was never a particular big boxing fan.. He was tremendous... Thanks for the wonderful entertainment... (There's not been anyone quite so exciting since by the way ;) ).
Devastates me to see the hitman so down, people are proud of you mate. Ricky Hatton was a brillaint dighter who lost to the best, there's no shame in that.
I suffer too, but I never knew Mr Hatton did. I loved watching him fight. So much heart and down to earth. 1 in a billion.
Am the same still have depression had a few fights nothing like Ricky but I put all my efforts into getting my body and my mind ready to fight once you fight after it all done that final bell I put all my eggs in one basket didn't think of the coming down the other side of the hill I didn't walk down the other side I fell and it not nice what so ever
he was a badass fighter
Lol the only two good fighters he fought he lost to
+killa man shank two nah castillo kostya there's more
+Cris Castro they were way past their prime
Always looked up to you mate, you fought the best and gave it 100% 2 losses dont make you a loser, you are an inspiration to so many mate
top man. With a good woman. And yes, we are proud of you.
Legend in every way, met him at Betta bodies, His attitude, his fighting style inspired me to take up boxing at 19. I remember actually shedding a tear at the tszyu fight as i was just genuinely happy for him. Only sportsman i know that connected with people.
long live ricky hatton
Funny how people hate on Hatton I bet he'd still be able to spark you even tho hes out of the game. -_-
He is still amazingly sharp!
I love Ricky Hatton. He fights the way we wish all of our champions would fight. Balls to the wall. He comes to fight. He comes forward and throws bombs. He tries to hurt people in a hurt game. But he just didn't have the skill to beat the best. He had the will. Just not the skill. We love you Ricky.
Inspirational documentary . Really makes ya respect hatton more when ya get to know more about him.
im a pacquiao fan but you're one of my fav fighter. its hard to come back from that,
God bless you Ricky
Say what you want about Hatton but he was ONE of the BEST in his division and only lost to the two GREATEST BOXERS OF ALL TIME. NO ONE will ever match the following this man got when he traveled away from home turf.
Ricky was able to channel his depression into the boxing ring. He almost gave up but good thing he was able to pick himself up again. His win over depression is more laudable than his boxing accolades.
us Brits still do and allways will love you "hitman" a true gentleman in the sport of boxing and out of it
My mate went to a job on Ricky’s house when it was being built and he asked the foreman there would he show him around, he replied, Ricky will be here in a minute, he’ll take you around and he did. You’ve got a great family there Rick, that’s your job now.
Dont ever think u let people down ricky. U were great
Mr. Hatton a real man with real problems who shows the world that wherever you have been you can get up again. God bless you & your family.
Respect. Ricky comeback is for him and him alone. That’s a man.
Awesome. I wish there was more than just OOOOONE RICKY HATTOOOOONNNNNNNN!!!
Yeah, he's a great guy so down to earth!
ricky, we the fight fans of great britain love you! win, lose or draw we were always with you and always will be....your our champion, thank you!
Was an absolute pleasure watching Ricky hattons career over the years . His fights used to pack out the pubs and have the same atmosphere as when England were playing in the world cup . He was tough as they come , exciting and pure talent . He's the fucking don as far as I'm concerned .
Hes a Legend..Ireland loves The Hitman ..met him once in Dublin got him a Guinness, most down to earth man you could meet👍🏻☘
Every one of Rickys supporters are proud of him and I'd think they'd just all want him to be happy and healthy enjoying life.
What a GREAT come back from the HITMAN. Go go go CHAMP! A true Champion is those fell down and stand-up to regain himself. God Bless...
- From The Philippines
Even Pacquiao suffered such loss witb Marquez 4 but the different Pacquiao has God in his life and he bounce back easily.. God bless Ricky..
He doesnt have god in his life he imagines he does there is no god belief in god is truly pathetic
Cheer up Mr. Hatton, you're one of the most worthy boxer Pacman ever fought. Regards to and you and your family.
Thanks to this man I was watching boxing again ...True people's champion 🏆
Ricky you are a legend and you don’t need to redeem yourself, boxing fans see you as one of the greatest and we all love you. And to boot, you wife is a genius and her mind is spot on with the moments and sustainable life thoughts. You are a true winner in boxing and in life. You are an inspiration RH!
A real honest down to earth fella, the way he used to get back in shape in a couple of months was amazing, "extreme's", and lost two of the best boxers of his generation, so many find it hard to replace the buzz of the crowd when career is finally over. Not just in boxing too
People remember the Mayweather and Pacquiao losses.....but they forget how good Ricky Hatton was. He was an undefeated animal when Floyd fought him.
Wow.... one of my heroes right here folks. I know what it’s like to feel like you let friends/family/fans down. Really and truly it’s all in your perception of the situation.
I'm just a casual boxing fan, with an intense love for the sport.
But I'm glad to know your story.
Check this out, for you to say thank you to the Lord God after all you have endured, would be more received from on high, than these "winners" who thank God.
The LORD gave to you and the LORD has taken away from you; but; Mr Hatton you should still bless the name of the LORD.
See, obviously God has been generous to you despite the downs of your career, but better than that, he has not given you over to "power". Because of that you are not in the dark, you just come into another season in your life. AND in Christ your testimony can truly help others, as the book of Job helped me. My words may sound "off the wall" or out of context, but there's a life giving point to what I stated.
God bless you, Mr. Hatton.
we all go through tough times. classy guy and a man of the people
Shout out to Ricky Hatton
Ricky was a true warrior..a proper fighter...he fought the best and gave his all
Greatest respect for Ricky Hatton as an Irish fan of his, a great champion , down to earth man, working class attitude just a great person,

You're such a legend Ricky!!
Oh god, this is so sad after knowing he lost, but we are proud of you Ricky. That's what a man does: you look at your demons in the eye and face them.
Just keep your head high champ, enjoy your family and teach your kids all the things you have learned in your life. A big, hearty hello from Mexico.
I like hatton.he has tactic in boxing..i respect Mr Ricky Hatton..
A hero. Yesterday, today and tomorrow.
great boxer, great honesty, heart and a great woman. wish him all the best
Good day Ricky, im from Philippines, i love watching your fights, win or loss. i hope you have a youtube channel that teach how to box and how to overcome things when a fighter loss a fight.
HE HAD SOME CRACKING BATTLES.. BUT THE HARDEST ONE WAS IN HIS OWN HEAD... HOPE YOU ARE OK RICKY KEEP FIGHTING
Fukin love Ricky, one of the best nights of my life watching him fight kosta tsyu!
I got a Ricky Hatton toaster, had to take it back, it couldn't do two rounds!
Chill out it's a joke and he can laugh at himself. He was a fantastic fighter who entertained in every fight he was in. Loved watching him fight, followed his career, was and still am a massive fan. Always had hugh amount of respect for Ricky, always brutally honest and genuine, far more than most.
Ricky shows alot of heart
Love ya rick x
I wish Ricky well. I hope he wins. Peoples Champ!
We love you ricky
Ricky Hatton greet up there what heart he gave in his fights
Ricky is a dope ass dude. Very humble and worked his ass off to be one of the best boxers in the world. Sure, he got whooped but he will always be one of the best Brit boxers. He was legit.
Ricky was a beast (still is) and it just goes ti show how humbling of a sport boxing is. I used to be able to beat anyone’s ass that stood before me, til I started boxing that is.. and then I realized that no matter what someone looks like, how they act, or even how little training they had, anyone can get it cause there’s always someone badder.
We Love u Hitman! in our hearts u are the Champion! Bless u LAD!
You are still loved in Scotland and boxing kid
From a little kid from Manchester didn't do to bad did he ,,,,,his losses from two pound for pound greats that'll be talked about for years to come so ricky you ain't got to be sorry for anything your a champ always in the eyes of the English people and many more
It takes a really strong man to redeem, himself all over gain, but it takes a true champion 🏆 to take the first step..on a road he has travelled down before..🥊🥊
YOUR ONE OF THE BEST BOXER TO FIGHT PACMAN! GIVING YOU ALL THE RESPECT! NEVER MIND THOSE CRITICS..
IT WILL ALWAYS BE YOUR RESOLUTION WHICH SHALL HELP YOU ALL THE TIME!
HAVE SOME REST AND COME BACK AGAIN WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT!
SEEK THE ANSWER YOU'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR, FOR YOU TO BE IN GREAT SHAPE ONCE YOU STEP BACK IN TO THE RING OF BOXING!
CHEERS TO YOU WARRIOR! HITMAN!
Us united fns still support Ricky all the country behind this man we love you Ricky
Good luck to you Ricky. You have a beautiful wife and child, I hope you manage to control the demons that haunt you. Respect
fuck what anyone says love ricky hatton !!!!
My favourite fighter of all time you're a lagend Ricky Hatton
A great man.
Happy thanksgiving Ricky
Love the way fury an Hatton are together.
Hatton will be a massive help with fury with what he was living with an still trying to keep at bay’ with Hatton being in his corner being where he belongs! Being there for his mate an having known he’s giving back!!! ITS MASSIVE FOR ANY ILLNESS BEING TOGETHER AN GIVING BK
Absolute champ never give up I know how hard it an be break the beast
Unfortunately the same drive we have to achieve things makes it hard for us when we feel we failed. Hopefully Hatton as he grows older will come to realise that his real success will be his family and what he has provided for them.
