My grand ancestors moved from Nurpur Bedi (Distt Ropar) to Distt Hamirpur(HP) of today which was part of Punjab till 1966..
Hamirpur, Una, Kangra were merged with HP in 1966.
My birth and higher education happened in HP.
After that I worked and lived in Punjab and abroad and settled down in Mohali.
I fail to understand this Punjabi & Himachali difference except that it is NOTHING more than a political/artificial/man-made boundary for the purpose of governance, and there is nothing wrong in that.
Historically, naturally and geographically it has been ONE REGION known as Punjab Geographical Region from time immemorial to empire of Maharaja Ranjit Singh to 1966.
BOTH so called Punjabis and so called Himachalis of TODAY should refrain from claiming superior or intimidating each other.
Five Waters(punjab) flow from the place which is called HP nowadays.
Dilects spoken in lower HP are all dialects of Punjabi language.
Cutting the story short, both parties need each other equally.

I fail to understand this Punjabi & Himachali difference except that it is NOTHING more than a political/artificial/man-made boundary for the purpose of governance, and there is nothing wrong in that.
Historically, naturally and geographically it has been ONE REGION known as Punjab Geographical Region from time immemorial to empire of Maharaja Ranjit Singh to 1966.
BOTH so called Punjabis and so called Himachalis of TODAY should refrain from claiming superior or intimidating each other.
Five Waters(punjab) flow from the place which is called HP nowadays.
Dilects spoken in lower HP are all dialects of Punjabi language.
Cutting the story short, both parties need each other equally.
