Wanted one since I was 6 (year 2000). I didn‘t have the balls when they were cheap in 2012/2013 but this year I gonna buy one, even though prices are insane.😢
@detonator2112 Even with the PS1 version, I always thought it looked so classy, I never associated BMW with Germany because of it. I thought BmW was British until I was in my teens tbh lol
I remember this was one of the main cars I loved driving in High Stakes. I was fathered into the BMW world by my dad who always drove them in the 90s. 23 years later and I finally came to own my first E39 M5 and I remember the moments I had on NFSHS everytime I drive it. I have owned and still own older BMWs, but owning an M5 meant a lot to me.
Very similar story for me! I received High Stakes as a gift for my birthday as a child shortly after my dad purchased his new 2000 528i/5 in July of 99. Immediately gravitated to the M5 in the game and now own one. I’ll still play Callista in the car from time to time and have a nostalgia trip.
I have been looking all over the internet to find out who did the voiceover for this. He is all over TSN in Canada, various commercials etc. I want him to do my voicemail. Haha.
I love the old NFS titles so much for the reason that they were made for car enthusiants from car enthusiants! And not only for money like todays NFS shitRUN!
Man if you did not play this game near the end of the millennium, visit the car showroom in the game, select a BMW and just listen to Callista - you never had a childhood.
I would also add to this: If you were born in 2010's, 2020s and later, you were born too late and automatically never had a childhood. I mean, the government should've really banned people to have kids after 2004, meaning men aren't allowed to be impregnate women after 2003. People born after 2004 definitely made a BIG mistake, they didn't deserved to be born at all. As people born after 2004 never got to experience NFS IV when it came out in 1999. I'm NOT going to have kids because of this, they will automatically be too late to play NFS IV. I hate people who were born after 2004, it's their fault for being born too late.
12 years later and I still keep coming back to this showcase. Which is still a fantastic nostalgia trip. Still the best 5 series (and M5) ever made, in my opinion.
Thanks to this epic game, this is the car I've always dreamed for! I miss those old days where I could play this, THE BEST NFS EVER! How sad that those good times are gone :(
"completely at home on Germany's unlimited speed Autobahns." Sadly these are becoming less common (They got rid of them completely in my state). Also we've always had the "Autobahnrichtgeschwindigkeitsverodnung" ^^ btw, try using the audio-->English subtitles feature on these showcases. It's hilarious.
@FSXairpilot You are right. They only conectrate on some stupid kiddie action sequences. This game has so much atmosphere and you can feel the fascination for the cars you drive in the game. This is so far, unrepeated!!!
I probably would not own one today if it were not for this game. Epic car, epic game!
+///Mthusiast Lucky you!

E39 is still the best looking 5-car ever. Can't explain it... it has certain timeless "class".
Still good Still beautiful!!!
Timeless for sure. It’s a car that has aged very well.
11 yeas later, YES

@@mthusiast2746 I gotta play that song in mine! Can’t believe I haven’t lol
I bought an E39 M5 in Forza Horizon 4 just to listen to this while admiring it in Forzavista mode.

My fav car of the game after the (non available) 96-97 police Crown Vic. Followed by the 95 police Caprice

BMW M5 was constantly outclassed in the AA category...but it's still my first AA car when i played the career mode
I remember the showcases of the old Need For Speeds.
Thanks for the upload.
the background music is truly nostalgic
So much Nostalgia, Its just, Epic.

My favorite car in NFS4HS.
I kid you not. I played this game until I was #1 on world rank on NFS HS Online Racing website. M5 E39 was the dream. Now the dream is real.

@matt0smith Good news, the E39 M5 is in Forza Motorsport 4. Brilliant HD graphics and sound, and brilliant physics to boot.
A new NFS with showcast vids in this style would be nice
@Psychoaktiv91 Ack, wrong spelling. I meant "Autobahnrichtgeschwindigkeitsverordnung"

hey , i saw that car last week
M, the most powerful and most expensive letter of the automotive alphabet.
Everything that is expensive is for a reason mate.
