Allow act 5 two handed sword barbs to use 2 handed axes and mauls.
and to add on… the frenzy merc barbs should be able to dual weld 2 hander swords like the regular barb class that they are ..
I think its weird that the barb can't use all 2 handed weapons in each hand. An its odd that sin can't use 2 daggers.

@@Wartakles Ya typo on my post. I only complained about sin due to I wish I can make Crescent Moon dual wielding sin. And having a barb swinging 2 spears would be cool looking. As a very athletic person dual wielding items is not that hard but I also am very ambidextrous.

I'd argue though that dual wielding 2 huge-ass hammers is challenging no matter how dextrous you are, and even if you are tank like e.g. Brian Shaw

Hot take: Hell (over the years) has become way too easy. Terror Zones should be much harder to feel like an Infernal mode.
Eh, Hell is only "too easy" for a select few overpowered builds (Mosaic, Hammerdin, Blizzard Sorc, Javzon). For most builds, Hell is an absolute struggle to even beat - let alone farm.
Personally, I find it absolutely disheartening the number of cool builds I come up with that I don't do because I know they'll make Hell difficulty so brutal it won't be fun. I think it'd be better if the top few builds were nerfed, and lots of other builds were buffed. I'd say frozen orb sorc is a good "baseline" that builds should be lowered/raised to.
Missed the poll, but I'll add: physical damage builds are the most fun: especially Fury Druid, Multishot Bowazon and Frenzy Barb are among my favorite builds in the game.

Make Mang's Song +3 to All Skills, but give it Conviction Aura that rolls from level 8-10. It would be nice to have a source of Conviction outside of Infinity and it's not like Mang's is easy to get. Mang's should be something that's worth multiple high runes instead of an off-meta meme.
Make Infinity in staves. Then sorc would finally use a staff. Plus staff mods will make Infinity godly
They could make Mangs better, it doesn't even have enough FCR to compete with other items.
So many TC 87’s are so underwhelming. Tweak some numbers and bring them up to viable (not OP) status. Finding a super rare item, and the only useful thing about it is you can remove it from your grail list is pretty blah.

surprised nobody mentioned players command for online play. Id do it more for the exp boost then drops tbh. Cause that one christmas buff that gave everyone P8 diff games for 1 day … i actually had the will to play the whole day leveling one of my alts from 97 to 98 and ACTUALLY seeing the exp bar move was a good feeling. Cause its a pain the the butt to consistently have full 8 player game on bnet and NOT have to fight over who can sneakily take the terror zone spot before anyone else (its annoying having to make fake out cow pub games JUST to get the game filled so i can run off to the current TZ spot… and ill usually have to kill off 2 -3 other random players trying to take my TZ spot lol. I almost have to feel bad for applying dominance over them 😂).
So that p8 solo games christmas buff day … FELT GREAT. Plus once the game becomes dead and only the die hards still playin … you wont ever get filled games anymore cause people off playin other games of the month or new releases.
The guy that said nerf Hammerdin, Javazon etc. No no no. Buff other builds but not too much. Not all builds should be equally powerful. With that being said, I don't think any build should be able to handle players 8 content (Hell) easily on their own. I don't know what the solution would be but I would like to see the multiplayer aspect of the the game actually need the power of that many players to take it on. I think it would inspire new support focused builds like seeing a Holy bolter healing others. However it would suck if it went too far and turned into a tank, dps, healer meta, it should just require the combined might of multiple players. At the same time I would also be apprehensive about any change like this because Diablo 2 is excellent.
Assassin change suggestions:
- Rework the animations or whatever is needed so that Dual Wielding actually feels faster than using a single claw.
- Remove charge timeout duration. It is just tedious.
- Do something about the horrible clunkiness of 'Dragon Claw'. Hate how it locks us into the animation.
- With all the charge up skills when dual wielding claws, have all of them be a double strike that hits with 1st then 2nd claw instead of some of them so that you potentially get those two charges on a single use of the skill.
- Have Phoenix Strike's Chain lightning actually be chain lightning or change the tooltip as it is an outright lie lol.
- When duel wielding have the claws alternate strikes equally instead of favouring the main hand.
- Just get rid of Mosaic. An expensive runeword or rare Unique should not be required to 'fix' a class. It really is just a bandaid to make Martial Assassin work.
Other:
Stop Cathan's Seal from dropping all the bloody time.
Boots, belts gloves could do with never being ethereal.
I wouldn't mind seeing a new world boss somewhere.
Hot take : changing a lot of stuff in the game would actually make it better. Especially tweaking underutilized items and skills, mercs, and adding new items/runewords.
Some uniques are so bad, you're not even happy to find them in ssf or solo playthrough. Of course Mosaic was a mistake, but core changes like Summon Druid and fixing ebug were great. Heck, even Sunder Charms were a good add after all.
I am amazed nobody talked about teleport or enigma. My hot take would have been that all high interest areas should have a direct wp in terrorized games to counter the craziness of teleport. (By that I mean Cata lvl 4, tower lvl 5, durance lvl 3, halls of vaught, worldstone keep, maybe a few others).
Take away Terror Zone for Burial grounds. Add Terror Zone for Canyon of the Magi and Tamoe Highlands. Separate WSK1 and 2 Terror Zone from Baal Throne room.
Add 2 or more D Clone style monster with either Unique Charm drop or Unique Ring or Amulet. Baal Clone , Duriel Clone , Meph Clone Andarial Clone. to get these to spawn can be selling Maras / BK Rings or even selling torches.
Improve Unique items to make it slightly more worth it as compared to runewords but not better. Improve some set items.
Inventory stash to allow stacking of runes and gems and wirt's leg etc etc
Loot Filter.
My hottest take is that respeccing should be free once you beat hell difficulty. The thing that harms D2 the most for me personally is how grindy it is to try an experimental build. If you want to try something that might not work you need TWO tokens! That's way too pricey!

I agree with Act 3 being a struggle. Because of the way the maps are and navigating it is a challenge, but Ive come to appreciate it. Because it’s unique.

12:00 I only dislike the great marsh in act3. it always feels like it is the appendix of the whole act. Has absolutely no purpose and is often a dead end.

Hot take: d2 itemization since around 1.09-1.10 LOD is a bit more boring. Runewords, stuff like arachnids mesh, are too much and we never got the content to make use of that power creep. Another one: lifetap shouldnt work on uber bosses, it promotes a hold left click on a cheese character to kill the hardest content in the game.
The best items in the game are still magic and rare. You just never find them
I'm one of the players who only started playing again because of mosaic. I've never had enough time to get to that end game build that just hard stomps everything. So being able to get there without grinding hundreds of hours is very nice, because I really only have maybe an hour a day, if I'm lucky, to play that much.
Add the chance to roll +1 any skill from any class on rare helmets and rare armors. Change skiller gcs to benefit class skills and not class only. The different builds you could make would be awesome.
For the stash i think he was meaning 3 private stash and 1 share stash. He didnt mean less stash. I agree with that.... it will give us more space overall and in the end we only need 1share stash for transfer
I really think there's a bug in Mosaic - or rather the implementation. What I mean is, there is a 50% chance to not consume stacks, so dual wielding gives 100% because it was implemented additively. Wouldn't it make much more sense to treat each one separately? In this way, dual wielding would have a 25% chance to lose stacks. Thoughts?
I missed your hot take question and I think I have a good one.
I’m thinking do something with the standard of hero’s since it’s useless now. Make it roll 1 to 10 mf and also give it a chance to roll with plus 1 to a branch of each character skill tree. So for instance a great one could roll 10 mf with 1 to cold skills for a sorc, but that same roll could end up being just 1 to mf. This would make it useful and fun to keep farming Ubers for.
I would love DLC with new character, new act and new Merc which I am willing to pay.
Some of the changes I would love to see
- make cow king set into 5 pieces set item, add 2 handed bill and a ring (there are currently no good set ring) and transform into cow when equip full set
- A Merc that are similar to druid

my hot take is not on d2r but pd2. As you said, the changes in this mod went from "pleasant and refreshing" to "crazy" real quick. I 1000% agree with your sentiment that like ANY change AT ALL to the game is negative.

Honestly i think its unfair how they nerfed the shockwave druid saying they didn't like an unintended thing making a certain build for a char unintentionally strong but completely left the unintentional damage boost from concentration for hammers in place.. Then made a runeword called mosaics which makes the assassin the strongest build in game...There's so many skills i would love to be touched on and fixed that don't even make sense for the way the game is currently and they instead focused on things we didn't need.. poison explosion for necro is a useless skill why has that not been fixed in some manor? poison dagger is mostly useless but can be sorta used if you have godly gear and wanna pretend the gear isn't why it works so it needs changed too..the fact they make you put all those points into 3 skills for poison necro and then only 1 is useable is insane when any other build can utilize at least 2 of the skills they slam points in.. this is extremely long so i wont go further for now but yeh that's 1 class build that hasn't ever really got love and the best example i got.
Grief is pretty crazy OP for the runes seeing how it stacks up to Last Wish.
Mosaic should have timer on those skills like barb shouts, sorc shields, zon insight and not a 15 sec limit as the kicksin is almost nothing without that stack damage. Fallacy, maybe but it's how I see it.

Probably my biggest gripe with d2 that is otherwise a nearly perfect game, is the inventory management. I hate that I basically have to fill my inventory with charms on every character and technically I guess I don't have to but it just feels like I'm missing out on damage if I don't which is never a good feeling. I enjoy how I can customize my character with which charms I choose and it gives endless opportunity to min max your character but coming at the expense of barely being able to pick any items up always felt bad to me.

It was done on purpose carried over from the Diablo 1 moto. Old games don't really hand-hold and are somewhat punishing.

I'm not asking for hand holding. I'm asking for a better design than essentially mandatory items that restrict your ability to have an inventory.
New class, one class specific uber runeword for each class, one new act but in a difficulty beyond hell where even soft core characters are forced into hardcore mode uber items and bases can only be obtained (must be 99 to enter), allow cube recipes for combining runes to create uber runes to make said new runewords (example 10xjah + standard of hero or material from new act = new uber rune). Make uber items account bound. Would be cool for the elitist try hards like me lol.

Interesting video. The thing with Grief is that it's not OP, Problem is that it is the only decent weapon. My fully decked WW barb does Baalrun 50% slower than Sorc with "ok" gear. Nerfing grief makes no sense to me.
My hot take would be: Terror zones should only give more bonus XP, no increased chance to get tc87 items. Loot is too easy to get because lvl 91+ monsters drop more high tc items. Add something like quest bugged Andariel, that just breaks the game and drops.

They could apply a `shader` in mosaic chain lightning because it literally dry several eyes out there (not only mine). I love to play with blizzard sorc and it already received a nerf (that i didn't like) after the creation of sunder charms and this nerf is fair because cold sorc was really OP and that's ok, works well (I cannot see why it deserves another nerf since the class is a trash killer), instead why they don't buff a little bit cold nova (nowadays it is very painful to use it in hell, requires too much OP gear to make average damage). I wouldn't change a thing in the game related to crafting or runewords because i like it to stay more close to the LOD version (but this is personal, there are other personal possible desires out there). If you play single player (SP) you won't like to see grief nerfed at all, because it really takes time to get it and all other melee builds bellow grief are a waste (they only do well at nightmare at most) - at ladder this vision changes a bunch due to trading, but trading is not an option at SP - If blizzard wanna make something useful without changing the engine, they should provide quality of life modifications. Example: Create a search for character names at the selection screen (for SP this is a monstrous change, treasures hunters and grailers know what i mean). Sell extra tabs for shared stash (if well managed it can be a great source of money for them), and you won't need to have so many mules during season, provide a way to play multiplayer out of season, as the old TCP-IP connection from LOD, etc.... But i agree with the general augmentation of melee damage because melee classes suffers a bunch. Is not easy to make a melee class and play /players 8 as you can do with any other casting class, it can't compete with the later. If Blizzard really wanna change the engine -> turn very rare elite uniques more useful or at least viable (Tyrael's, Mang song, maybe lightsabre for paladins and barb's, cranium basher, etc).

Also with Mosaic I consistently crash when they do their lightning 😂 so have to turn on old school mode

What do you do once you get an enigma, infinity, last wish? You dont have that question if you play hardcore.
Everyone understands your dislike of hardcore man. Imagine streaming as much as you do for weeks and weeks. Only to walk into the wrong soul pack and wipe in a 1/3 of a second. Your only recourse to that and the viewers is “welp….time to start over again” and that’s no fun.
Might be fun for viewers. I image some people like laugh at me 😆😆😆 and hardcore is intense obviously. Dramatic.

d2r should be the engine of future diablo titles, legacy graphics with resurrected graphics switchable.
release d2r sdk or whatever it would be so that people could design a joinable server (like minecraft) and play the game how they want the game played (like project diablo).
make an auction house (like d3) for a trade vendor in game (like npc with real player items), further: the way to get items to the vendor is through terrorized zones with "convoys" of player items where players could defend their items they want in local realm auction house vendor or where player "shadow" is in place that mimics a mercenary the player has set to defend the "convoy".
give the option of using player created characters as mercenaries (up to 8 players in a game) with a system to real time switch to and from and order the mercs/player characters around.
remove the difficulty and allow players one playthrough where depending on the spawned mobs and modifiers and location the player could choose where these mobs spawn in their realm world in the future thereby creating personalized difficulty, further: allow a server wide event where the champions of all realm worlds get given privilege in deciding next seasons original spawn realm world.
lastly make ears of players the item cubed with town portal to give a portal into another players realm world (like dark souls pvp) where there is a player in your game thats pvpable and nonkickable unless either home realm worlder or invader is killed.
Even modders have tried to rework and improve the the clunky martial arts tree and have failed. The way blizzard have done it creating the mosiac runeword is lazy but ive yet to see a better way to make a martial arts assassin relevant so id say unless they have a solid way to keep that relevancy they shouldnt nerf mosaic.
As for end game thats correct that is one way the later diablo titles do better imo they have a more varied end game than diablo 2.

Kermit hates off metal builds 🤣😂🤣😂. New off metal build is brand now enchant sorc. 66% pierce from razor tail and wisdom. The base explosive arrow is triple the base damage. Which makes up for penetrating 2 less enimies.

I am new to D2 and teleport absolutely ruin(ed) the game for me. A sorc can port around the game once while my Amazon is just chugging along. Now, I know there are teleport items but they do not do it for me. It's not just teleport charges but the frames at which they teleport. The classes with the frame boosts are just that much more OP. One simple fix I would do is allow every class to teleport at a certain speed and then leave the bonuses for sorc/pal/barb. For example, amazon/ass/druid/necro can port at the 70% sorc breakpoint by default. Sorcs can bump it up to 105% for an extra class bonus. I know this isn't going to fly with the purists but it would be a fun seasonal experiment. Imagine starting a season as an amazon or druid and not be completely gimp. Wait, we can farm Mephisto too?!
Every class gets a budget class specific enigma around level ~70. This item would have class specific FCR to bring them to high TP rates. I.e., an amazon piece would have like +200% FCR so she could go at a quick rate. Basic resists, +1 skill?, +FCR, and then TP.
To me it sucks because I want buffs❤️
I think tele needs a cool down and remove it from enigma. It's a core mechanic for the sorc but being able to spam it so fast creates an imbalance
D2R is from an era of gaming where the player sort of has to "self-nerf" a bit, sort of like nuzlockes in pokemon
Ive played Diablo for alot of time and ive never shared the opinion that Teleport is something you need.Years ago ive started with only sorcs because the only thing i knew was Andariel and Mephisto farming.
Come D2R and ive started as a sorc only once in 7 ladders (technically 6 but i count the release of the game aswell,not that i didnt make one later down the line but yeah).Ive come to love starting with a Paladin,Druid or Assassin and im yet to try out doing a Barb(Trav farming is op and at only Players1 so big win).
You just have to farm different things with other classes with Assassin i just straight started farming Destruction Keys and made a huge bank in season 4,with a paladin FoH/Smiter hybrid or Hammerdin you can clear Pit,Trav,Chaos almost straight after you finish the game,Druid can demolish Stony tomb,Cows or Pits,Trav,Chaos if you with Wind as opposed to Fire.
Now its even easier to do it with anything but as sorc for the sole reason of Terror Zones you can just play something with slight AoE and farm sunder charms(if youre lucky and u get a couple of Cold early on you're filthy rich).
But ill agree it sucks that the most efficient way to farm Andy or Meph is a sorc its just time inefficient to try and do it without Enigma thats why i dont bother and just choose something way profitable and sureway to make currency and later ill buy the items i wanted from Meph or Andariel.
For this ladder i was wondering between a Sorc(which can do both Bosses and key farming) or Druid/Sin either for TZ and Keys.
Just farming Nihalthak on Assassin is very fun to me and early on the Destruction keys are very expensive like 3 go for a Vex in the first two days even three id say.

There's a blanket 50% phys dmg reduction in hell. If they romoved that it would make most unique weapons viable and just nerf grief down by like 35%. Ive been saying this since d2r . it would help phys bow out a ton also! Def wouldnt make it too OP

1:34 elemental skills being more powerful doesn't matter, the best mf character in the game uses a melee weapon and I doubt anyone is killing ubers with a fireball sorc. Let's not even mention the best pvp character being melee (barbarian is the best no discussion if we're talking the absolute best pvp players in classic and lod).
Diablo 2 back in the 1.08 days was how the game should have remained. All the runewords like Enigma and letting everyone teleport around kind of ruined it for me.

Keep making changes per season but have a Legacy mode so you can play its original release.
i prefer pd2 assassin skill rather than d2r mosaic. procing skills as you rotate through charges is awesome though somewhat underwhelming.
How bout let's add player count slider to online play. People always with that just play offline arguement doesnt really make sense. Blizzard said the game is meant to be played with friends yet hard to find people consistently to play with to actually farm. Most pub games also is a just a loot grab fest. The no drop chance as a single player is stupid high. They could at least it lower from the +60% to mediate that.

All chance on hit affects should have a built in element mastery thats increased by your all skills.
(12% chance to cast level 23 fireball on attack) will have a base level 10 fire mastery attached to it, which is affected by your all skills.
(20% chance to cast level 10 chain lite) should have a level 10 lite mastery.
But with 5 to all skills on gear, it will be a level 15 lite mastery attached to it.
This goes for items like flamebellow, and frostwind, dragonscale)
Make charges replenish over time.

Mosaic dose need a buff it should be one elemental show on screen even if you use all 3. the synergies need to be made to work with fire. cold is ok but it dwarves when compared lightning nova sorc is just as fast but no one wants nova nerfed it was buffed to be what it is they need to buff other builds and add harder content
