My kitties used to like to attack my hook and yarn when I crochet too. They wanted some attention. 😼 I've kind of broken the habit (that or they've just lost all interest in what I'm doing). I've been loving your granny square projects and this square is just beautiful. Thank you so very much. 😊 💜✌️🧶
I wish i had seen this pattern a couple weeks ago .Im working on a blanket with 3 similar squares , this one would fit in great . Im useing 4 weight yarn in IVORY. im on my last two squares. There is always another day ,THANK YOU ❤
Thank you for sharing, I love the simplicity ( can't do granny squares to save my life) I don't even have to shape them afterwards...you have made my crocheting easier..also love the cat interaction, I have a puppy that behaves the same way, bite marks and all..happy yarning!❤
You are an amazing teacher❤ I, very literally, learned to crochet FROM YOU! And I am so grateful. It brings so much joy to my life and got me through a LOT. I can’t wait to make a beautiful summer dress for my favorite baby girl. And of course I will tag you. Your work is beautiful. Please always make videos. I know I am Knot the only one who adores you. 🧶 And when a kitty appears it just adds that little cherry on top. Thank you for teaching me- not just a skill and talent- but a coping mechanism that turns any feelings or chaos in life into art. 🤗🫂🤟🏻😻
That is very beautiful. So easy to follow. And your little partner is cute as well. This will be one of my next projects to do for a gift to my Dr. and his wife. Thanks so much. Looking forward to learning more from you.
Here's my written down version for this pattern, hope it helps anybody that would also like to use it! Also, thank you so much for such an elegant, yet simple pattern! Im looking forward to making many things using it in all sorts or colours! Sorry you got smacked by your beautiful kitty, but I must say I loved hearing him purring in the background. 😻💕 *This pattern uses US crochet terms. R= round CH= chain ST= stitch SLST= slip stitch SK= skip YO= yarn over BL= back loop HDC= half double crochet DC= double crochet TC= treble crochet To start: CH 4, SLST to 1st CH to create a ring. R1: CH 3 (counts as 1st DC), DC 15 into the ring while holding tail to weave it in, SLST to 3rd CH BL. [16 DC] R2: CH 2, *puff stitch into BL of ST, CH 1, repeat from * until end of round. SLST into 1st ST, not the chain. [16 puff stitches] •Puff Stitch: Try to keep a looser tension so its easier to pull through the loops. YO, pull a loop through the BL of your ST x3 until you have created 6 loops for a total of 7 loops on your hook. YO, pull through 6. With 2 loops left, YO, pull through two and are left with one loop on your hook. R3: SLST into next CH 1 space. CH 2 (counts as a half finished DC), create a DC cluster into the same space. (For this first one, stop when you have 4 loops and 3 half finished DCs on your hook since the first CH 2 counts as your first one.) *CH 3, DC cluster into each CH1 space, repeat from * until end of round. CH 1, HDC into the 1st ST (the one on top of your cluster). [16 DC clusters] •DC clusters: YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through 2 loops. Repeat this until you have 5 loops and 4 half finished DCs on your hook. YO, pull through all 5 loops on your hook. R4: You will be working into the CH 3 spaces. CH 4 (counts as 1st TC) and TC 2 into same space, DC 3, HDC 3, DC 3, TC 3. The repeat is: *CH3 TC 3, DC 3, HDC 3, DC 3, TC 3. On the final TC, join your round with a CH 1 and HDC into the 4th CH. [60 ST] R5: CH 1, HDC 2 into same CH 3 space. Working in the BL, HDC into the first ST (prevous CH we joined into), HDC into every ST BL across, HDC 2 into CH 3 space. You should have a total of 19 ST across. The repeat is *CH 3, HDC 2, HDC into every ST BL across, HDC 2 into CH 3 space. Join your round with CH 1 and then HDC into the first ST, not the CH 1 we started with. [76 ST] NOTE: make sure to go into the first chain after the CH 3 space, it can be hidden by the 2 HDC in the corner spaces. R6: In this row, we will be creating boxes after the corner spaces. To start, CH 3 which counts as our first DC, DC into same space, CH 1, SK 1, (DC, CH 1, SK 1) x9, DC 2 into CH 3 corner space. The repeat is *CH 3, DC 2, CH1, (SK 1, DC, CH1) x9, DC 2. To finish the round, CH 1 and HDC into top of CH 3. [52 ST] Note: Like in the previous row, make sure that you see your first stitch after finishing each corner. Refer to 15:11 for help. R7: CH 3 (first DC), DC into same space, DC into next ST (previous join into CH), *next ST can be hard to see, make sure to DC into it*! The rest of the pattern is DC into each ST across, DC 2 into CH 3 space. You should have a total of 27 ST. Repeat will be *CH 3, DC 2 into same space, DC into every ST and CH 1 space across, DC 2 into CH 3 space. To finish off the round and the square, CH 1 and HDC into 3rd CH. [108 ST] CH 1, cut off, and pull tail through. Weave in ends.
Hello! Thank you for this lovely granny square. I’m just new to crocheting. Can you please make a video on how to connect this granny together? I want to make a blanket with this granny squares. Thank you in advance
Hi Sirin! I am so sorry your cat hurt you! OW! Thank you for this wonderful tutorial! I really love this square! I have been a long time subscriber but Rosanna from 'Crochet with Nonna Rosanna' inspired me to check this tutorial more closely as she uses it to make a square every week using colors from the Manic Mama Music Album CAL (she posts a new album cover every week and Rosanna uses the colors to make this square; she saves up a bunch and turns them into lapghans she donates to nursing homes and she inspired me to do the same! 😊) I am not on Instagram, but have applied to join your FB group; maybe I can share the squares I make there. Thanks again for this pretty square tutorial and sharing so many lovely tutorials & patterns with all of us! ❤ Meredith
Beautiful pattern! Thank you for sharing! Could you please share the description or please let me know where is it possible to find? Ii is much easier to work with written description. Thank you on advance ❤
Thank you for this lovely pattern. When you demonstrate how to do this lovely granny square, may I ask you to go just a little slower? It will make it a bit easier to follow. What helps me when my cat wants to do his thingy, what about a little milk? That keeps my mister happy for a while before he wants to play again🐱🐱❤️
Great tutorial didn't have to rewind once, beautiful granny square will use to make a bag. My cat is vicious too my legs are so scarred he likes to jump and dig his claws into my legs then claw down! 😢 he has done this since a kitten and is now 7 months old! He's a breed that won't fully mature until he's 5!!! God help my legs, need wooden ones 😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you, a beautiful block, but the white yarn on white background is difficult to see. Written instructions would also have been helpful to but thanks anyway ❤❤
It would be helpful if you could include a stitch count at the end of each new side (corner to corner) so people know if they have done it correctly before continuing and running into problems later when the stitch count doesnt match up. Pretty square, will make a lovely bag when i am finished with them.
Can you list the pattern? I struggle to follow videos because I have to keep rewinding...I looked on your website..but it is confusing and only shows one square...
i tried to write it down for myself, maybe it helps: chains count as st (ch3 16dc = ch +15dc) puff stitch = (yarn over, yarn over through stitch)x3 until 6 loops + 1 from previous st on hook, yarn over, pull through 2, ch1 cluster = (yarn over, yarn over through stitch, pull through 2 )x4 , yarn over pull through 5, ch3 1. ch3, 16 dc in magic circle 2. sl st, ch3 (puff st into back loops, ch1) 3. sl st, sl st in hole, ch3 (cluster, ch3) //ch 1 instead of ch3 for last 4. hdc to join, ch4 (3tr, 3dc, 3hdc, 3dc, 3tr, ch3) //ch1 for last 5. hdc to join, ch1, (2hdc in corner, hdc into back loop x15, 2hdc in corner, ch3) //ch 1 for last 6. hdc to join, ch3, dc in same st ((ch1, skip 1, dc)x9 skip last st, ch1, 2dc in corner, ch3, 2dc) //ch1 for last, leave out 2dc 7. hdc to join, ch3, dc in same st ((dc into each st/ch) x23, 2dc, ch3, 2dc) sl st + fasten off
I usually watch the video first and then follow step by step, I pause and do a row , unpause and then continue with the next ..it makes it easier than rewinding..
Thank you for using white! No likes to do tutorials with white yarn, but the finished square looks so clean & perfect just like this.
