I’ve had mine almost 40 years (1984) and it’s the best chainsaw I’ve ever had! It’s been the mainstay on the property but sadly I’m a bit long in the tooth to start it now. Compression is like it was when new! Modern saws are not made as well as this old classic!. Clean your filters people and the saw will last!

I have my dad's O45 AV Electronic. Probably from the late 70's. Original bar. It has never been repaired. It starts and runs like the day it was new. It hauls ass. I love the sound of this saw and the performance. Back before the California Air Resource Board started choking the life out of everything with an IC engine.

This video game me deja vu vibes big time. My father was a Stihl dealer in WA state, and I bought an 034 Super (later renamed 036) during the summer of '89. Cut, split, & stacked several cords that summer. Worst decision I ever made was selling that saw when I went away to college.

    Hi from Australia,
Stihl are by far the most popular chainsaw here. Nearly every decent sized town has a stihl dealer. Husqvarna are only at the larger regional towns, which makes parts and accessories had to get.
Echo are only in the very large regional towns/cities. Echo are my favourite but dealer parts/ backup is a problem, so i use stihl for the dealer services/ backup.
    Cheers

I've been a husky guy most of my life and still am, but our snowmobile club decided that the saw for the snow cat should be a Stihl. So, that's what we have. 4/17/24..hey their Married w/Small E...hello from New Orleans area. Just watched your very methodical, super well lite ( medical operating room?), clean/well organized bench top, great clear EZ to understand English with very articulate, methodical (medical-like) exam of this little E...with carb issues. Yes this was kinda slow going but absolutely worth the time as you educated all viewers not only on all the small parts but also on your professional & factory authorized exact fitting tools...like that 'Z' Gage which confirms height of valve movement (jet/spring/'y' hook) & pivot axel assembly...! Wow! Then your close-up camera lenses !! ...how else could we viewers see that microscopic 'slime' blocking fluid flow through that 'last' filter screen!...Ah yes...this video was kinda slow going but worth the time to see how the pro, Married to Small E.., does indepth analysis & repair...thr-right-way ! A+ video!
..I am not a pro, everyday chainsaw user, but use my Echo W.E. many times a month, chsin saw 2-3x /year; am on my 3rd or 4th W.E.machine & have had several carb/dirt/dealer-shop repairs🔧 & have learned to just buy $$ a new carb ~$60 & self install & carry on. So watching this video was 'triggering' my memory (am 78 years & going strong) why it was just faster for me to$$ & get-back-to-work! Much enjoyed & appreciate your shop, explinations, video lighting/editing, pro tools & perfect results! 👍👍👍✅️🍺😊

I just used one of these for a week or so, borrowed from my dad while my 260 was in shop. Harder to start than the 260 though. My 260 has the same symptom of this saw, won't idle but runs great otherwise. Shop didn't fix it and the plug they installed just seemed to not work.

Nice work Erica. Hope you make our Saturday Live Stream. Stella is getting nervous being the only lady in our group!

Very Very Impressed With Your Attention Too Detail Your Very Thorough And I Like The Canadian Accent Of Saying “Still” Don’t Change It Say It How You Say It 😊😀 That Saw. is Perfection Now The Owner Better Watch Out He Might Not Know How To Control It 😀 Night Sunset In Ontario Is Really Nice

I've used a couple aftermarket coils and have never seen that. They typically are a hair long, but nothing over an inch. Great repair video!
