Nostalgia hits hard in this one. Super cool that still pieces of this in the game. Forges wasn't the best game mode, but the idea of the exploration and the reward was super cool. I do remember like today my drop of the Jotum in the last forge. The feeling of the uniqueness, makes it feel like it is something to grind for. Sadly, now you just go to the tower and get it. By the way, super cool video. Remarkably well done. OOB still the coolest thing in D2
One kinda cool thing to note, if you have any of the original forge weapons and get into the puzzle room you can still see the puzzle when using the scope, and I am not sure but it would be pretty neat to see if the new hammerhead would still show them.
I had tested this yesterday when I obtained the curated roll and sadly it doesn’t work. Must be a programming into the new one that doesn’t allow to see them
@@scorchedfusion369 Try it with one of the old ornaments on it, I just saw that apparently the new hammerhead doesn't highlight enemies but if you apply an old ornament it does so mabe the ornament could make the puzzle show up with the new one.

If Bungie would have never removed any content the file size of Destiny 2 alone today could possibly be all the way up at 300GB or very close to it if we consider the amount of content that has been removed over the years. Trust me the DCV was for the better good even though it sucks.
I lived in theese forges the last 2-3 weeks of that season, but I made it, I made all that weapon crafting and got my beloved blacksmith seal which I still use to this day
I wanted that title so bad but I never had a team willing to do the raid challenges with me. Still one of my biggest regrets not getting that and the Shadow title. If only I knew sunsetting was gonna be a thing I would've put more effort into trying to get those old titles...

And then Bungie turned Ada into another facet of trying to sell MTX to players with how grindy transmog bounties were when first introduced, which felt like them tarnishing the Black Armory even further.

Still my favorite season by far and it’s not even close. Stands alone with the most unique themes, items, and a decent new character that coomerboys are enthralled by. Straightforward with no hashed-together filler story, despite not being a big plot point, back when the UI was comprehensible and there weren’t a million colors and different sized boxes in the display

I was going to ask, how do you do that? Do you you need an ultrawide monitor? Is it a setting while uploading? And how does it look on a normal monitor, on my phone it stretches to fit the screen nicely, but I don't know how it looks in like a normal ratio monitor
@@NathanBMedia It's a raw resolution of recording. So this guy just recorded everything directly off his monitor, which is ultrawide. If you are to change the resolution or aspect ratio of the file after it's recorded, it would warp and squish without some major cropping. The ultrawide video looks like a movie on normal resolution monitors, as it will have a black bar on top and bottom of the playback device. But the contrary, standard resolution videos have giant black bars on the left and right of ultrawide monitors, so that's why I appreciate it so much. A LOT of movies are recorded in wide aspect ratios for movie theaters, so sometimes I get a gem like "Fury" with Brad Pitt, which was exactly the same aspect ratio, and was incredible to watch on my ultrawide screen. I recommend gaming enthusiasts, and people with extra money to burn, end up trying out a nice, high end ultrawide setup at some point
Know what I don't understand? The stated reason for the DCV was because Destiny was getting too big. Yet, there are tons of unused locations and remnants of used locations left in the game. Iron Forest, Black Armory, Quarantined Sector 236, Galaxy Pools, Shard of the Traveler, and so many more are just... There. Makes you think what the real reason was.
This is such a well executed video. I miss everything about Season of the Forge. I'm very disappointed that I dismantled all my god roll Black Armory weapons after they were sunset, now that they're all "un-sunset." Great job on capturing these long forgotten locations!

They made that excuse back in beyond light that the reason they needed to remove so much stuff was because the game was getting to large, but then they left all kinds of stuff in the game like these forges and it makes you wonder why they removed anything in the first place...
Most of the assets used in the forges are copies of assets you can see elsewhere in the game. The Game Engine safes an asset just once and copies them dynamically where they are needed. So the leftover forges don't take much space.

it wasn't an excuse. It used to take like 5 minutes to load your inventory, in orbit, on last gen consoles. Keep in mind new gen hadn't released at this time, and since the game was so bloated with content that no one ever played, it ran like shit most of the time
I wonder how much space could be saved if they trimmed this bloat. Like how much the sunsetting could have not happened if they just removed some of this stuff. Its cool you can still see this stuff
I really hope that if they make a D3, they're careful not to abandon old areas this time. D1 still feels like every location has a purpose, but in D2 there are so many empty spots, or places where you just have no reason to go there ever again unless they revamp them at some point.

So many locations in this game have been used only once and are today unaccessible. I wish that they would have extended the EDZ patrol area to Hangman's Pass after Curse of Osiris, maybe put a Xur location there or even a public event. It's such a nice place but sadly the only way to reach it is through out of bounds.
I always hoped that with Ada-1 returning with the loom that we would return to the forges at one point. Maybe since all of these forges still exist, that might come to pass too.
I knew that volundr, gofannon and bergusia were still there but I always wondered if there was a way to izanami. Really surprised they actually took out the forge itself but left this mess of load triggers and bounding boxes in. Thanks for sharing this

I’m still confused on why removed the forge content, all of it was on planets that stayed after the vaulting but they still removed it. I never was able to get the legs from the raid before it was removed. I will always remember the last encounter because that was the first ever part of a raid I ever did

In a way this was D2 at is best. The sense of discovery and community colaboration to find the forges and solve the puzzles. The game play in the firges wasn't the greatest but as a whole it was good content.
what's to miss about them? Genuine question. To me, they were just "throw ball, kill bad guy" edition 3726, and the loot was some of the most scarce and grindy we've seen for a seasonal activity
It’s so that when you jump up next to a wall and shoot, you’ll only need one ricochet round to die. The easier it is to die mid air, the easier it is to hit the default spawn point, then blocking it to get into bergusia
If they are still there is cause Bungie may have plans to bring old shit back just like they've been doing for the last 2 years and will be behind a paywall. Greedy folks, you already paid for it, they took it away and will have to pay again for it.
@@RikuuTsu when you’re going through a load zone, once you get the quantum, get near the next load but don’t hit it. Hop on your quantum skimmer, and have your fireteam member run through the load before you. once they hit it, you hop off the skimmer, and run back to the load zone, and NOW hit the load zone. If you do it right the skimmer will be sitting right next to the load zone but still rideable. I know froggy or rythm have a more detailed guide on this

what's to miss about them? Genuine question. To me, they were just "throw ball, kill bad guy" edition 3726, and the loot was some of the most scarce and grindy we've seen for a seasonal activity

It’s so that when you jump up next to a wall and shoot, you’ll only need one ricochet round to die. The easier it is to die mid air, the easier it is to hit the default spawn point, then blocking it to get into bergusia
If they are still there is cause Bungie may have plans to bring old shit back just like they've been doing for the last 2 years and will be behind a paywall. Greedy folks, you already paid for it, they took it away and will have to pay again for it.

hey so rn im in the quantum sparrow but for my partner i vanish when i hit loadzones
no matter where i hit a loadzone i tp back to where the quantum sparrow is at
@@RikuuTsu when you’re going through a load zone, once you get the quantum, get near the next load but don’t hit it. Hop on your quantum skimmer, and have your fireteam member run through the load before you. once they hit it, you hop off the skimmer, and run back to the load zone, and NOW hit the load zone. If you do it right the skimmer will be sitting right next to the load zone but still rideable. I know froggy or rythm have a more detailed guide on this
