    they need to change the way they film it, because not everybody know all the cards and we can't see anything here

      not only that they use names of abilities I do not know and do not explain them. For instance, I did not know cycle at first. They could say cycle for 1which means draws a card or something like that. Not every time but throughout the show sporadically. As a player who knows how to play causually for many years I dont know all the rules.

    • @panthar1
      @panthar1 6 років тому +87

      Yep, this would be much more entertaining for the masses if you could see the cards, and commentary that explains them. They need to have multiple cameras, with zoomed in views on specific cards, or have pre-loaded card information to put on the screen. Either way, this could be improved a lot, and I hope they do this yr.

    It’s funny reading comments from newer players disparaging control decks.
    At the time this match was played, the Temur deck was absolutely dominant and no one was playing UB control. This was seen as an exciting outsider deck taking down the oppressive deck that everyone hated.

      You shouldn't be too worried. These guys are pros. While you will be needing to keep a good pace during play, its definitely not this fast. Start out at FNM's, very casual

    Before Covid there some Asian nerds that came in and played at a local Yoshinoya near me and they would be there for hours playing this, looked very cool not gonna lie and I know of MtG but never got into it myself.

    Weird nitpick
    Why wouldnt they just call the deck dimir control since the other deck is being referred to as temur

    • @NotAnEvilMastermind
      @NotAnEvilMastermind 3 роки тому +2

      I think it's largely that 'blue-black' is still fairly easy to say, while 'temur' is certainly shorter and simpler than 'red-green-blue.'

    If we get to see the cards it could have been better. They should play it more like an anime. This is probably the first I missed the description based battle cries after each move. I don't know. I guess I'm just some taking your time to enjoy instead of rushing things kind of guy.

    I agree, commentators are having their own conversation that I don't care about I wanna know what cards they're playing and how they're doing it much rather over the shoulder play with mics on players. I don't know why they thought magic needs commentators when the players say everything they're doing.

    So did anyone else notice that after he resolve the Essence Extraction off of the second Torrential Gearhulk, it just magically reappeared in his graveyard and not in exile with the other spell cast off of the first Torrential Gearhulk......he knows what he's doing, but was what he did right or do judges pick and choose who they penalize for wrong card zone infractions. I would not say anything if he hadn't drawn into another Gearhulk, which makes the misplay advantageous in his favor.

      At 14:50 energy player makes a thopther and goes from 5 energy to 5 energy if I'm not wrong... And normally judges don't say anything if the opponent don't say it... I'm not sure where the line between misplayed rules and cheating is but if the judges think it's cheating the correct the game state and normally give a penalty for the cheater

      @@lurro9963 Nope, Gerry's play was fully legal. What happened was Gerry casted and resolved a Whirler Virtuoso, then Oliver responded to the Whirler Virtuoso ETB trigger by killing it. Gerry responded to the kill spell by making a thopter with 3 of his 5 energy, bringing him down to 2 energy. The kill spell then resolved, and then the Whirler Virtuoso ETB trigger resolved, bringing Gerry from 2 energy back up to 5 energy.
