IT'S AMAZING HOW CARD KINGDOM IS SO HONEST THAT I CAN BUY FROM THEM WITHOUT SEEING A SINGLE PICTURE OF THE CARD. They've never failed me on their definition of NM. I won't buy a single card from Ebay or Amazon unless I see at least 4 naked HD pics of her.
Let's just all agree, this video is just the ultimate proof that the Professor is simply an outstanding content creator and human being. Sincerity, a strong moral compass and charity. I'm really casual on the MTG hobby, but watching the Professor is what keeps my tie with it strong, because it mantains my faith in this community!
@LoveStrangeDr considering WOTC is selling packs at 250% of thier price I can't blame the scalper for taking the easy way out. Not sure if there was enough money in the normal sets because this never happened to me buying those.
@LoveStrangeDr I mean, if you are someone connected with any concept of worker's rights (as the Prof is) or any labour causes you don't talk about Amazon because it's trendy, you do it based on real concern, so that's fair, right? There is reason for possible concern regarding the topic, let people become aware of that, there's no fault in being cautious.
@@changthao4875 I, mean, I know he's not a god? It's exactly because he's human that I took the time to craft this comment, he is really insecure about this topic and this video is very clearly an uncomfortable one for him. I'm just showing some empathy so, in case he reads this, it helps him feel a little better, you know, because he was so open about it.
Lol say a nice thing about the professor and of course people have to reply to bring him down. Just move along, it's easy to see the professor is someone with ethics and a strong moral compass. If that upsets you then that's on you. I agree with Angelo, the professor is an outstanding human being
That message: "You should never accept less than what you deserve!" It fits so many situations, and watching your videos show that Prof. You're awesome!
That's why I tell people not to buy collectors or masters boxes. The cost to print the cards didn't increase, so WOTC is just ripping thier customers off.
@@yty-p9k Fair point, but the issue is I would like more new cards and I'd like my LGS to stay open. So I'm happy to keep paying the price for real boosters, but I'm not supporting the obvious greed and waste beyond that. The set boosters have two completely useless cards in each pack, did a tree really need to die to give me an explanation of how to play games with a pack purely designed to crack for value?
The one upside I see with Amazon’s poor handling of magic products is that it incentivises people to purchase products from local game stores instead. Thanks for bringing this problem to the attention of the community!
As an Amazon employee let me explain, Items are treated roughly. Yeah, I know. Warehouse employees are under so much pressure to increase speed and productivity that items are flying all over the place and smashed in totes. There's no incentive to handle anything with care and I've seen pop figures and magic cards get knocked right out of a shelf because more products were being shoved through the other side without any thought. Also, if you're buying from a third party seller make sure you read the refund policy and inspect the products thoroughly. It might feel awful not getting what you wanted, but knowing you can get your money back helps a little.
@@RavenDeathKnight sounds like the company should care more. Employees trying to show more care are just going slower and not meeting the needs of the company and in turn reprimanded or fired. What is an employee going to care more about? Their livelihood or the fact that they know the customer wants this in good hands?
@@RavenDeathKnight it’s not that I don’t care about work ethic, but that has to start from the top of the chain, not from the bottom. But telling an employee that has no control over it that they need to better themselves at the job ain’t going to a thing.
@@RavenDeathKnight did you read the rest of it? It’s like that because their bosses care more about productivity which in turns puts the pressure on the rest of the assembly line. Poor work conditions mixed with a high demand of productivity is going to get you what Amazon has.
Not an excuse. I get it your boss sucks, your job sucks, your owner sucks. But punishing the customer for your malcontent for the pressure you are under instead of staging mass walkouts, protests and focusing your malcontent on those in power is just a sophomoric response to a systemic problem. Do your job or don't. It's not the consumer fault you don't have the tools. Quitting may not be an option but organizing is.
Being embarrassed is fine, mistakes are human, and are the best learning tool. Props to the Prof for the video, not many would admit fault, and to turn it into a PSA, even better.
Exactly this. Couldn't agree more. Almost all of us leaned to walk when we were little by making hundreds of mistakes and falling down, over and over and over. Some folks like Prof haven't forgotten that it's ok to fall when we learn from it.
not really a mistake. common sense when shopping online lol. what he said goes for every type of shopping online from all website, even if its from a youtuber linked store. always inspect your product, if it is up to your standards then go for it. if not dont be afraid to return or dont accept product.
I bought two Commander Legends boxes and they didn't show up in the best of condition (this was before all the scam nonsense). I had great pulls. Practically everything but a Mana Drain.
i mean thats the point of the box and im very glad to see it's doing its intended job. the fact that it got banged and thrown around so much to decimate the box that much and yet all of its contents were still pristine is really a good thing.
honestly the fact that the first box was legit and you still opened all of it was very respectable in my eyes...if i ever decide to start seriously getting into magic ill keep this channel in mind
Padding an already long video with a contradictory example after ranting for 10 minutes to recoup some percieved loss on 3 boxes is virtuous? Idk man I like professors psa's most of the time but the dude has really long playtime. This could have been a 5 minute video, but yt loves watchtime. Something to consider when watching channels that deal with controversy all the time.
I decided to ditch Amazon and only buy from my local stores earlier this year, and these recent videos of people receiving boxes that were either tampered with or extremely damaged has only reinforced my decision. Thanks again, Professor.
Devils advocate here... I think that too, but Prof got out OK! So maybe all the vids are from LGS supporters?🤣😅 jk! Support your local gaming store! I'm pretty rural and have to drive a ways to most! But I found who I could Trust and not Trust
I dig supporting your local store but just cuz they are local don’t mean they aren’t snakes. I’ve heard lines like “ we can’t compete w the internet” w a 25% mark up from avg pricing. They act like it’s some sort of worldwide entity that is a competitor yet they look to it to justify their markup. This is extremely funny when other local stores have their whole stock of singles on a tcg format and that’s the ONLY way to buy product that isn’t new or displayed outright. Mostly I see phenomenon this happen in places that are a lil past the “brick and mortar” level and look more warehouse-like. In the same fell swoop there has always been a bit of ableism involved w stores of the sort that won’t deliver your purchases( once again the excuse is can’t compete w the boogeyman) which make Amazon a more than viable option caveat emptor of course lol
@@darkmatter7266 my local store's prices are about the same as Ebay/Amazon. Sometimes a little less, sometimes a little more. But they also give away foil promos and other goodies when you buy a box, which doesn't happen when I buy online.
You pay a slight premium to first of all support your play space's business, but if you don't care or don't play there, at the very least you know they haven't tampered with the boxes or damaged them.
One of the most important things I’ve learned from this channel is to not go on Amazon and just take the extra time to stop by my game store to look around and buy stuff there. I just love the irony and how we all still fall victim to ourselves at times. Thank you for the honesty.
That indeed is the most important lesson. It is even not about Amazon. My girlfriend bought me a Kaldheim bundle when that set was released. She bought it online from another vendor than Amazon and the box also arrived with visible damage. Buy from your LGS if you can avoid ordering online. (also: Most big time e-commerce players like Amazon offer their employees such terrible work conditions, that this an extra reason to try and avoid them.)
Honestly, this has been one of my favourite videos to watch. I don't believe that you needed to feel embarrassed, after all, we're only human and we all make mistakes. However, seeing you be genuinely humble, honest and raw is admirable. The fact that you also then ended the video with the charity to your supporters and viewers was amazing to see as it wasn't necessary but again, showed your true character. Keep up the great work!
Prof, as a newer player with a smaller budget, I greatly appreciate everything you do in helping to demonstrate the risks and benefits of buying cards in different ways. I've said it before on other videos, but sincerely - thank you for your help and service in this community
I’m happy to see your first box, while damaged, the packs were not affected. Don’t beat yourself over it Prof. Everyone appreciates how upfront and honest you were about the whole situation.
Thank you for your honesty and for emphasizing the importance of supporting local venders. I am a brand new MTG player and your channel continues to help me scale the Magic learning curve. What fun!
"You should never accept less than what you deserve!" is a motto for life that more of us need to take up. Keep up the great work prof, thank you good sir!
But it wasn't a repack scam. The boxes were just damaged. Honestly, I suspect 3/4 or more of the "repack" videos on UA-cam are fake. They get views so naturally ever streamer has to pile on. Prof basically did the reverse, got a suspect looking box and it turned out to be fine.
@@bcarraway1 I’ve ordered MTG sealed products a couple of times now. My 3 draft booster pack was tampered with it (had slits in it), Ikoria bundle that I ordered got delivered as a prerelease pack twice, and MH2 booster pack had a missing card. This is all sold by Amazon, thankfully they didn’t even ask for pics and immediately refunded me. Maybe because they’re aware of the issue? But it’s not fake - look at Amazon reviews for the products, it’s a horrible issue.
@@brigeatenex I am not saying it doesn't happen, but it seems like everyone is trying to claim anything less than pristine and loaded with Mythics is a repack. Curious though, you had a booster box that was missing a single card? Like, one pack was short a single card? What kind of rarity?
Thank you for sharing this Prof. No one is perfect and we all make mistakes, ESPECIALLY in the stressful times we live in. You're an Ally to the player and a symbol of good. There's a reason many Magic the Gathering players look up to you.
I don't play this game or collect these cards (my daughter just got into Pokemon so this popped up for me). Just wanted to say your videos are really well done. Great presentation and communication style. Bravo
Edward. My behavioral coach in this program I'm in actually said this to me on Friday. It's a really good motto to carry and more people need to adopt it :)
Words of wisdom, I'm just getting back into magic after being away for nearly 10 years, and this type of info is so valuable in making the right choices as I build my collection again. Thanks again for sharing your humility and honest candor.
I respect how you decided to make this video. Just cause you bought from Amazon doesn't change the fact that you are still one of the best content creators who shows that you care for your audience, which makes me appreciative of what you do for MTG and for card games as a whole.
It happens. It makes sense that you wouldn't be immediately suspicious and it's honestly crazy that people just buying Magic cards have to scrutinize what they buy.
You're a good person Prof. I appreciate your honesty, and humility in tough situation and you went above and beyond to make up for something a decent minded would never blame you for. Saving $150 on 3 boxes is no joke and on all accounts know you didn't do anything wrong here. We are all human!
The Professor is such a nice guy he sends away boxes of good cards to feel better instead of feeling better just knowing they’re good to keep. What a kind man.
"You should never accept less than what you deserve!" truly is a way to look at most things in life. It applies to so many situations. Big thanks to you Prof. :)
Working at Amazon for as long as I did, you start to really see the level of... well, general bad stuff that happens there. You would find console game boxes with a cut on their packaging on the side and had their discs and other valuable contents taken out of the case. Eventually those items were left in the "cage" that had much more valuable items; only people with access were allowed in there and every isle had a camera. Thievery is huge at Amazon and I am still convinced that much of it never got caught even when your actions - such as which isles you've been to - were recorded. Life... ugh... finds a way. Thanks for making this entertaining, as always.
Theres a tale of one amazon subcon distro at where every 3d filament box went missing and they didn't catch it until a vendor put in a gps dongle. You'd think that would be caught with automation flagging to be investigated at amazons side but no, even if such automation should be amazons bread and butter edge. Its like their edge at this point is just dominant market position and f everything else.
to be fair, I bought a DVD from Walmart some ten years ago and discovered later, someone did the same thing...just sliced down the side, took the disc and put the case back on the shelf...and they allowed me to return the empty case for a refund or replacement DVD...which I was grateful for.
I love that even when covering the negative topic of a potential scam the prof is able to make it positive and took the extra effort to show us proof instead of "trust me". Prof truly cares about this community and only wants the best for everyone involved and the game.
Thanks for being honest about this. I’m glad you didn’t end up getting ripped off and I hope that Wizards takes heed that issues like this are reducing consumer confidence in one of their major sales partners.
I have been playing since 1994, back in 2013 I went through an extended time out of work (22 months). To keep a roof over my head, I sold all my revised dual-lands and the unlimited power nine, I was fortunate to acquire buying someone's collection of approximately 250 cards in early 1995. I wish I could have held them until this year but these things happen. I only play casually, but my play group has disappeared over time, I am hoping to try some booster drafts, or Commander,or EDH at a local game store but have been away from anything but my casual group for quite literally decades. Your site has helped me to get an idea what to expect in the newer formats, as well as saving me from wasting money on repackaged goods at the local Walmart. One time I bought one of those plastic cube containers and while it wasn't terrible, the Planeswalker card featured for the deck had been pulled. as I play in an unstructured group, I substituted a Sorin Markov planewalker card I got in a Fat Pack for Zendikar. Your site is fantastic and entertaining very often even while being informative. Keep up the excellent content.
Whether or not these were fake, it takes a large amount of character and guts to show everyone who normally watches you your mistake. Props to you Prof.
For something I'd crack immediately this wouldn't be a problem, but sometimes I'd like to hold draft packs for future drafts as well. Great to see you addressing a very real issue that affects people who might not have access to an LGS.
You're an absolute G. I'm new to MTG and have been looking at buying 'discount' cards from Amazon and Ebay. Your experience has shown me the key problems to look out for. I've been scammed by online purchases and it sucks. Thanks for making a video about getting ripped off (which is awkward) and being brave enough to admit you were embarrassed. Your video is a kindess to me and I appreciate it.
It takes a strong and honorable person to admit when they’ve made a mistake. Keep doing you prof. You’re one of the best content creators for this great game that we all love.
There was no reason to "embarrass" yourself like this, much less to be as charitable and just give these boxes away, but you did - more reasons why you're my fav mtg youtuber
So I came back to magic about a month ago I used to play in 2015 and I just wanted to thank you for your videos and what you do for the community, videos like this really bring awareness to new and returning players. So thank you for the advice and the great content.
"You should never accept less than what you deserve!" applies to many aspects of life far and above just ordering something online, so it is great to spread that message. Keep up the great work.
I've been considering getting back into MTG, glad to see there are still people in the community like you. A lot of care and concern for the community, absolutely love it.
This video is very earnest and a strong cautionary tale about how cards and boxes are treated outside the hobby. Working in generic retail where cards are sold as not a main item it can be frustrating seeing how people outside the hobby are unaware of the value (or scams surrounding) cards. Things like promotional tins and boxes emptied of rares and returned for full price, or boosters being mixed up with full decks by employees who just don't know. Rough as it may be, I'm glad you made this video so others can be given a heads up dealing with this situation.
Whenever I kind of fall out of being into magic, I happen to see one of his videos in my notification slot. It always inspires me to keep playing with my brother, and try to find some people to play some commander with.
There’s definitely a good amount of people in the community that are chill to play with, also there’s virtual Skype of the sort to play With people online
I would love to draft with my dad on his birthday in the coming month. We kinda drifted apart, but every now and then we dust off our old deck and play, gotta love this game and your content
The fact Prof puts in this kind of effort just to admit he made a mistake, only to make the best of it and take the opportunity to do a completely selfless giveaway, shows he's a good person.
I appreciate the fact that he is not above admitting a mistake and trying to make the best of it. Really cool dude and I wish I could rock a tie like he does!
There's no need to feel ashamed over this. After all, we learn by making mistakes. You're already doing a good thing by making this video, so that hopefully if someone receives damaged goods they'll decide to return them immediately. I'm new to playing paper Magic, having only played Arena before getting my first deck recently, and your videos have been so helpful. Keep up the good work!
I handle returns for a small business that's a third-party Amazon contractor. The most important things people need to know: 1) Returns are no problem at all and you should always feel free to return anything you bought within the appropriate time window. 2) Always include some sort of explanation in your return. The person who handles your return probably doesn't know what they're looking at (my company does hunting and fishing supplies; I don't hunt or fish; I don't have the slightest idea if the returned scope or game camera I'm looking at works or not) and can use any guidance on whether something's good to resell or is defective. They won't hold it against you either way, but they need to know. They're also not the same person you've been in contact with, so they won't know anything you said in an email, on the phone, or in a live chat. 3) If you think warehouse workers handle things roughly, you should see the shipping carriers. Damage happens in shipping all the time. If you suspect something was damaged in shipping (Which is quite likely the case here), make sure you put that in your explanation. Damage claims are a different sort of return than return-to-stock or defectives. Had the professor returned these without an explanation, a return processor probably would have just returned them to stock. And if he returned them without the original packaging, order number, reference number, document number, etc. it would probably have to sit around for a few days while the return person tracked down the original order first. Had he returned them defective, they would have been returned to Wizards for quality control (and the contractor would also have gotten a refund). Had he returned them damaged-in-shipping, a claim would have been filed and the shipper would have had to pay for them.
This is no joke and you make it wonderfully apparent how difficult it was for you to film this. It is not a fun experience to have and, a lot like internet/phone scams, it is necessary to educate others about the potential danger. So thank you, Prof.!
Hey Professor! I’m not gonna lie I’ve only been a fan just recently from the video explaining the dominaria united commander decks, my brother showed me y’all and I’ve been a huge fan since, watch a lot of videos the past week and seen videos of you on other channels. By the sincerity of your voice to the educational aspects of everything I’m completely invested in your channel. This is the content that makes me more invested is seeing how you react to a bad situation and informing people on what to do instead means so much more than you think. Notably I know this video is 11 months old but it still is impactful.
The message: "you should never accept less than what you deserve" is applicable to so many other things. I really enjoy your videos and the fact that you made this video makes me like you even more
Sometimes i forget that the prof is actually a prof, with quotes like "You should never accept less than what you deserve!", really makes feel like i was teached something after a video about cardboard and big corporations, thanks for everything.
"Ooo triple." Reaction made me laugh a good bit. I was happy to see the packs in that specific box were not repacked. But the point still stands, getting anything less than what you pay for, presentation or otherwise is unacceptable, Amazon shouldn't carry collectibles if they aren't going to allocate proper handling, of course I'm aware everything Amazon is as automated as can be without holding the customer in any regard, just get the product to the buyer that's about it. LGS may cost a bit more but you get your sealed product then and there in proper condition. I will personally avoid Amazon when it comes to TCGs and collectibles.
Thank you for providing more than just a one sided view. This video surprised me a few times because I thought they were going to be dud boxes! But it takes a lot to admit a mistake and to share it with us so we know what to look out for too. In any event, Amazon could really resolve peoples misapprehensions if they handled product better!
Thanks for making this and sending the warning. Those of us not plugged in constantly to what's happening in the game and its market aren't necessarily aware of how real some of these risks are. I've just been able to return to M:TG after a 3-4 year hiatus, and have spent the last week trying to decide how I want to spend my money to get back in.
Totally understand how he feels, these days amazon feels more like ebay where instead of getting it from a company you are getting it off some random person instead. we're all happy you didnt get ripped off. We're also respectful of your honestly with the whole situation. At least we all know now for the future
I definitely understand the frustration as I’ve had that concern with boxes as well. We know how you feel about supporting our LGS Prof and I’m with you in the LGS first mentality. Don’t be ashamed at a deal that is hard to pass up. Spending your money wisely is another tenant of this channel and I feel you did that. Glad you helped spread awareness. Thank you for the transparency.
Love the sincerity with which you face everything, even in front of thousands of spectators you have always show yourself in a human way. That's the reason why we are still here to support you regardless!
The period to request a refound for any product is 30 days, but if that time passes and you have bought things with imperfections, or the box damaged or something, you should try to request a refound even if a year has passed. I don't know if this applies for every country (I'm from Spain, sorry for my english), but I have been able to return an item like one year after the purchase (it didn't match specifications). This only applies to defective items and similar things, but if you recieved something that should not be as it is, don't let the 30 days limit let you down and check amazon's return policy.
Even after years of these videos, I'm still always unsure how the Magic community lucked into someone like this as the biggest UA-camr. Most fandoms do not.
Sorry you had to go through this, Prof. I could tell you were really pained by it all, but getting the word out about being very cautious with Amazon purchases is a good lesson for the community. Thank you so much for the service you provide.
Your passion is so admirable man. It makes me be passionate about the things I'm known to be passionate for but then sometimes I lose it LOL. This is just all around good and earnest energy. I appreciate you.
Hey man. There's no reason to beat yourself up about it. Everyone with a reasonable sense understands why you bought the box's at that price. Keep the amazing work
Prof, you're a real class act. I admire the humble admission of making mistakes and using it as a learning experience for the community you've cultivated. You deserve the success you have and plenty more.
“Lower prices” does mean to lower the standards of product or expectations. That’s the lesson I’m taking from this. You’re awesome Prof, don’t let anyone, including yourself tell you otherwise
That plastic wrapping at 8:51 is just a shoddy job when you apply heat to the plastic wrap. I used to repackage boardgames that came with torn plastic at the LFGS and if you apply heat properly to the plastic those marks are not there. A side note, I recall that all MtG booster boxes that come from Wizards have their name on the plastic wrap.
You shouldn't feel so bad about this! You've helped spread the message to support local game stores for years, and because of you I've tried my best to buy from them when it's reasonable.
Toy temple sent me a tampered pokemon booster box. Half the booster packs were upside down. I emailed them and the response was "we didnt see anything in our cameras"
I always really appreciate your honest takes on the Magic: The Gathering industry. Between this video and others I've seen, it just confirms that if possible, I should always buy from my LGS.
There's a big misunderstanding about how Amazon's return process works. Unless the item is returned directly, it's unlikely that the item will return to their main stock. What generally happens is that the items is taken to a drop off location, thrown into a big box and shipped back with a bunch of other items. Most of these boxes are auctioned off without consideration of restocking.
As far as I know Amazon doesn't take returns for MTG products, at least for product sold and shipped by Amazon themselves. I know 3rd party sellers list their items on amazon and I'm not sure if they accept returns.
Actually that's not always accurate. I've received a couple of items which have clearly been sold to other people, returned and then shipped back out. I've had things with batteries installed and they have oxidised *which means it's been sitting with Amazon for a while too* and I've also had things where someone's name etc has been written on with pen. All of these things I've returned and gained a full refund.. but yeah it's not always the case where they Chuck it in a big auction box.
I ordered an item from Amazon. It was the last of that particular item. I was impatient so I purchased it. It was missing some items. They did allow me to return it.
Just hope that your replacement (if they offer one) isn't another bad one. I got sent a defective replacement that was missing parts and was used, and was told that the replacement couldn't be replaced. Wtf
I've bought "new" items from Amazon just to get used items. They do recycle items. It's illegal for them to do that but there's really nothing we as a consumer can do and when I called their hotline about it they just gave me a credit.
The Prof is always looking out for the little guys, can't think of a more important pillar of the MTG community. Chin up, we all make mistakes and we all learn from them.

As always, your honesty and care for the MTG community shine through everything you do. Thank you for being a terrific example for all of us to follow.
Learning form mistakes and acknowledging them is a very noble thing! Good on you for turning this into something positive. Here's hoping I am picked at random!
“Never accept less than you deserve.” I love this, not only as an MtG model, but as a way of life. Love you Prof, and love your honesty, integrity, and passion for the game.
man I do wish I had a friend like the professor, the dude picking up boxes when they're still at reasonable prices to draft with years later, while I am still fairly new to magic I just know drafting Kaldheim (my introduction to mtg) in 5-10 years with my buddies will be so nostalgic and a blast.
Hearing you talk about giving away the remaining boxes because it makes you happy brought a tear to my eye. It's really kind of you to take your accident to another level to benefit others. Really admire you for that.
4:13 that’s exactly what’s happening with the boxes… I bought packs from a store and the manager even asked me if he wanted me to open a new box for fresh packs. Reason he said this is cus people can weigh the packs for foils. So the packs I got had nothing in em except one foil swamp.
Bought the Precon Coven Counters on Amazon, because my LGS didn’t have it. Got sent the wrong one. Asked for an exchange, returning the one I got. I got the wrong one back again. This process repeated a few times. Ended up just driving to the next towns LGS Love the video prof, keep doing what you’re doing :)
Same. I ordered Undead Unleashed and was sent Coven Counters instead. This was the minimal package deal. I waited a couple of weeks and bought the regular package of Undead Unleashed and thankfully was sent the right one this time.
Thanks for this video prof, I’m a new mtg player and things like this haven’t even crossed my mind yet. Never have I had a hobby where this can be such a serious legitimate concern! Kamigawa comes out the day before my birthday, and I’m glad to have a games store to go to! Cheers.
As someone who lived in a small town in the middle of nowhere most my life (having only moved recently for college) finally having access to a local game store has been a blessing not only can I stop feeding the Amazon machine but have made loads of wonderful new friends as well as finally getting to play more formats than just commander with my friends back home.
As a warehouse worker myself, I see stuff like this happen to boxes all the time. I usually try to avoid grabbing messed up boxes when I'm picking them for orders.

to be fair, it was wiser to have the little bit of sadness of opening and finding it was ok, then go to sit and play draft and getting burned badly

Lol say a nice thing about the professor and of course people have to reply to bring him down. Just move along, it's easy to see the professor is someone with ethics and a strong moral compass. If that upsets you then that's on you. I agree with Angelo, the professor is an outstanding human being
That message: "You should never accept less than what you deserve!"
It fits so many situations, and watching your videos show that Prof. You're awesome!
That's why I tell people not to buy collectors or masters boxes. The cost to print the cards didn't increase, so WOTC is just ripping thier customers off.
Very much agreed. Thankyou for what you do professor. We love you and your content and insight.

@@RavenDeathKnight yea it’s like arguing with a flat earther. Go work for one of those companies and see for yourself.
Your authenticity is admirable. It takes a big man to apologize when they've made a mistake, glad to see your first box was not a troll. Cheers prof
Sometimes the box is just damaged but the packs are intact.
The box “died” to save those packs for you prof.

Devils advocate here... I think that too, but Prof got out OK! So maybe all the vids are from LGS supporters?🤣😅 jk! Support your local gaming store! I'm pretty rural and have to drive a ways to most! But I found who I could Trust and not Trust
If only 1 option tho.... well, be careful!
The candid nature of this video is refreshing. Feels like a conversation we are having. Keep up the great work Prof!
Repack scams are frustrating, thank you for bringing this up for a larger audience. I'm sure people will learn from this.

This wasn't a repack scam...
Thank you for sharing this Prof. No one is perfect and we all make mistakes, ESPECIALLY in the stressful times we live in. You're an Ally to the player and a symbol of good. There's a reason many Magic the Gathering players look up to you.

"You should never accept less than what you deserve!"
truly is a way to look at most things in life.
What FC did you work at? Sounds awful, There isnt nearly as much shrink at my FC.
"I don't know the full process of thievery" is the most Prof sentence ever.
He should chat with LockPickingLawyer then lol
I love that even when covering the negative topic of a potential scam the prof is able to make it positive and took the extra effort to show us proof instead of "trust me".
Prof truly cares about this community and only wants the best for everyone involved and the game.
Thanks for being honest about this. I’m glad you didn’t end up getting ripped off and I hope that Wizards takes heed that issues like this are reducing consumer confidence in one of their major sales partners.
I’m not sure they care at this point.
Being able to identify and admit when you've made a mistake is an extremely valuable quality, and the mark of a good person.
Whether or not these were fake, it takes a large amount of character and guts to show everyone who normally watches you your mistake. Props to you Prof.
But if these weren't fake, how was it a mistake? He got a crazy good deal on them and everything was legit.

“You should never accept less than you deserve.” Is a kick ass quote.
This was a rough watch, you didn't hide the discomfort at all, that took guts.

“You should never accept less than you deserve.” Quote of the year for MTG.

I just started watching, but this is such an amazing channel. I love how informational but endearing our Prof is.

“You should never accept less than you deserve.” - totally with you on this one
Even after years of these videos, I'm still always unsure how the Magic community lucked into someone like this as the biggest UA-camr.

Chin up, we all make mistakes and we all learn from them.

man I do wish I had a friend like the professor, the dude picking up boxes when they're still at reasonable prices to draft with years later, while I am still fairly new to magic I just know drafting Kaldheim (my introduction to mtg) in 5-10 years with my buddies will be so nostalgic and a blast.
Can always start buying an extra box a year. Do this for 10 years and forever more you will have a 10 year old box to draft.
I’m glad that even though it feels like a big burn to you, showing and talking to us about it shows integrity. Love the vid as always prof
“You should never accept less than you deserve.” What a great quote.
Bought the Precon Coven Counters on Amazon, because my LGS didn’t have it. Got sent the wrong one.
Asked for an exchange, returning the one I got. I got the wrong one back again. This process repeated a few times. Ended up just driving to the next towns LGS
Love the video prof, keep doing what you’re doing :)
Hey, you got basically a free $50 if you got the new zombie precon....
@@nathankloster9036 How so?
Same. I ordered Undead Unleashed and was sent Coven Counters instead. This was the minimal package deal. I waited a couple of weeks and bought the regular package of Undead Unleashed and thankfully was sent the right one this time.
Likewise. One wrong product is an accident, three wrong products is something wrong in the supply chain.
Damn
You are the real hero man.
