A couple of hints, you can set the Pal appearance to 3x the normal, which includes Bosses. Also, if you capture the bosses who drop schematics, you can butcher them and it counts as a "Kill" so you can double your chances, of a single Boss dropping the Legendary schematics

The main problem with exp share is with EV trainers. Now for the long explanation. Skip to CONCLUSION if you dont care. So, what are EV? They are called Effort Values. Every time you kill a perticular pokemon (example zubat), the pokemon who killed it and the one who hold the exp share gain an Effort Value that boosts a perticular stat (for zubat is speed) or set of stats. Every stat has a maximum amount of EV and the pokemon itself also has a maximum amount of EV that can be gained across all stats. Usually that value is capped at 2 maxed stats EV. So of you could max speed EV to 252 your max EV total is 504 plus 6 in other stats. By picking and choosing what pokemon you kill you can max a perticular stat EV. Everytime you level up your stats are recalculated taking into account EVs. Maybe i am wrong but from what i understand, you share your EVs with your entire party so if you want to max speed you need to fill your entire party with speed EV pokemon otherwise you will fuck up the ones you want to max out other stats and didn't want to touch their speed EV. CONCLUSION: Anyone who wants to minmax their pokemons stats get fucked because you cant turn off exp share and EV are spread throughout your party. Casual players wont care, but anyone willing to do PVP will have their work cut out for them so to speak.
Also, the max total EVs you can have on a PKMN is 510, and the maximum on a single stat was 255, which caused some min-max issues until it was changed to 252. So the most min-maxed spread you can have is 252 in 2 stats, with the remaining 6 in another stat.
@@InquisitorShepard "Maybe i am wrong but from what i understand, you share your EV with your entire party" Correct. Any PKMN that gets EXP also gets EVs from that PKMN. With that being said, I've never had an issue with EXP Share screwing me with EVs. Because your initial team you beat the game with most likely isn't going to be competitively trained nor were you likely intending for them to be. They're just there to get you through Main Story and the non-competitive Single Player content. Even if you wind up catching/breeding more stuff to use as "engines" to optimize comp building (something with Magma Armor or Flame Body to increase Egg Hatch Speed, a lead mon to do the combat with, necessary HM users in games where those apply, etc.), you're probably ONLY going to be using them for that and have a separate copy of that species for competitive use. TLDR your Main Story and Grinding Mons aren't supposed to be optimally built, so their EV spreads don't matter. EXP Share is a good thing for EV Training since you can train multiple mons at once provided you have multiples of the Power- series items and are training for the same stat. EV gain generally doesn't matter unless you're crazy enough to try building competitive PKMN while you're still in Main Story. The REAL issue is simply the EXP gain. Especially in BDSP since it wasn't rebalanced around the excess of EXP, causing you to get easily overleveled against these mostly vanilla Diamond Pearl teams. It simply makes the games too easy, and with no way to turn it off nor GamefrEAk willing to give enemy trainers higher levels, better moves, and smarter AI to balance things out, the only way to avoid overleveling is to Box your mons and train with a not full Party, which is exactly what GamefrEAk said to do when questioned about this. Because they can't be bothered to make a decent game.
I've seen worse. You seen the "Robinquill is a copied Decidueye" situation? At least you can see what Act Man meant, when it comes to Robinquill, its not even the same species (let alone silhouette profile) of creature as Decidueye (one's a bird, the others a humanoid)
3:56 - *“That's a bit of a specific number.”* 8192 is one of those numbers you'll encounter frequently in computers, because it is a power of 2 (specifically 2^13) and that makes it a round number in hexadecimal notation (=2000 in hex) and a _very_ round number in binary (=0010000000000000 in bin).

5:46 I think one of the more recent patches screwed with the spawning system. Because there are areas in launch v0.1.3.0 that were heavily populated before, which are now just dead, there's nothing there. There's an entire stretch of beach by Mount Obsidian that was LOADED with Kelpsea Ignis, Pyrin, and Blazehowl, now it's just perpetually barren, and it's making looking for some good Kelpies for breeding real difficult.
One thing confirmed on why pokemon is not innovating is that they deliberately are not innovating. In an interview they stated that whatever feature they added in their new title will be taken out from the next title. They state that with this design choice each pokemon game will look and feel unique with each entry. So yeah One step forward, One step back. Gamefreak is barely even moving while a competition has skyrocketed.
As a Pokemon fan I love Palworld. It's shocking how an indie title looks and plays 5x better than recent Pokemon titles. In terms of Pokemon games I only ever play the classic titles now like Crystal and Emerald.
As someone who's played pokemon since I was 10 years old, even I have to say that Pokemon's quality is dropping HARD in recent years... (Say what you will about Sword/Shield, but they at least tried to make the game functional and entertaining on release at the time) I was excited for Scarlet/Violet, but after seeing the bad optimization and lack of good customization for the player character, among other things, I dropped the game and haven't touched it since. I do want to finish it and stuff, but Palworld is vastly more interesting, and it shows that there was genuine passion put into the game! I hope it finally gives Pokemon/Game Freak some competition so they can get their heads out of the sand, and start putting some much needed time and effort into their games again. I have hopes for Gen 10, but I'll be treading much more carefully before I buy.

I escape the cops by getting on a flying pal and going really high. They keep spawning then falling and eventually they just give up. It's annoying how the trainer boss pals are only found on the various reserves in the game which means if they spot you to cops will immediately be on your ass. It's like "Oh, you can't catch these pals, but our members can"
only real thing they need to polish up is the creature AI, and just a tiny bit more world fill. and maaaaybe a few more things on the tech tree. more pals and so on could allways be added later, i mean the big tree is locked off so it's clearly going to be a big content patch comming.
I'm not overly bothered by graphics cause I still love retro games. I did get Pokemon Scarlet and there are some trainers I've encountered that make fun of modern demographics and the story with the Arvin character is actually really good. Can't deny that graphically Gamefreak could've done way better, a lot of the bugs have been fixed. But so far I think Legends Arceus is the best newer Pokemon game to date and Scarlet and Violet literally took away the creativity they had in Legends Arceus. Which was a bad decision, the school was kind of a cool concept. But it's just trash and forgettable with how it was executed. I started playing Pokemon during the Red, Blue, and Yellow era and I'm older than Pokemon has been around. And I know people shit on BDSP, i know they could've done better with them, but I still really enjoyed them and they're along with Legends Arceus are actually really challenging to nuzlocke. While I do agree with majorty of what Actman said in his video, the only counter I have is this. Each game he listed to look better than pokemon, had a longer development cycle. Tears of the kingdom was teased 5 years ago before coming out in 2024. Pokemons problem is they don't take their time, they just release new games every year to go alongside merchandies they make. They've also forced exp share onto people so a causal audianc or kid audiance could play it as in their eyes, if a game is too hard then they'll just get frustrated and go play something else. Not defending pokemon, I hate a lot of stuff Scarlet and Violet have, just putting some facts out there
GW2 was killed by the DLC and the absolutely HORRENDOUS balance team (and community). I had been playing a Necromancer since the beginning, and for more than SIX YEARS it was so terrible in PvE, so vastly inferior to all other classes in regards to damage, people were kicking them from dungeon groups the second they saw the class icon. I was kicked out of a major story part 3 times in a row before the dungeon even started with the words "Necro = Kick". And even after it was not quite as terrible anymore, every time Necro got remotely useful in PvE they ate a nerf once more for whatever reason.

Usually my contrarian tendencies cause me to avoid games that explode in popularity like this, such as Fortnite and Among Us. However, Palworld seems too interesting to pass up. I’m even considering getting Lethal Company. There has been an increase in indie titles or otherwise small developers that are outperforming AAA studios, and I’m all for it.

It was in the older Generations. The current base rate, I believe, is 1/4096, which changed sometime between Gen 5 and 7, I can't remember when exactly.
You said it yourself. Taking risks and trying new things doesn't equal money. Nintendo knows what makes money and its reprinting the same thing each and every year and it works. But now they've seen what is acceptable and now they can try something new BECAUSE Palworld proved what is ok and what will print money. It just takes someone else to innovate because these big name companies won't. And now they can take inspiration from Palworld and do their own twist on the same formula that worked.
"there are 30 year olds buying the games" yeah, they go into Mommy's wallet and buy the game with her card. Or they have no idea what a game is outside of Pokemon and cod
It's still absurd to me how many ways there are to improve your pals. You can breed pals, and the excess pals from breeding can be used in the condenser to improve the good pals, and then you take your pal with +100% work speed and buff them will pal souls then take them to max via the condenser for a LEVEL 5 HANDIWORK SKILL. Yes that is possible. If you fully condense a pal to max star rating all their work skills are increased by 1 level, and a pal with a lv5 skill works twice as fast as an identical pal but with a lv4 skill.
Yep I noticed that too. Got Scarlet and Violet for competitive and see no reason to buy future Pokemon games since they are just copy and pasted of older Pokemon games
the real reason palworld is a success is because Astergon with a tiny hammer is the greatest thing you never knew you needed and yes i will die lone on this hill if i have too
Exp share is not easy mode, It just cuts the grind considerably. The unfortunate reality is that the game's battle system is too constricting to allow for difficulty shifting without becoming frustrating. You can have more trainers with more pokemon than 2 and also higher level pokemon, but if you try to add complexity, their stiff turn based systems really don't suppose any kind of innovation. Play persona and you get a good example of a turn based game with exciting, fast paced battling.
All of Nintendo's main games are at $60 because of the gift ticket system they have. You buy a ticket (presumably for a friend for a special occasion) and they can redeem them for whatever game they like out of that selection. The downside for that is that in order to maintain the value of said voucher, they need to keep the prices at the same level, regardless of how old the game is. It's pretty scummy. When Nintendo holds the moral high ground over a lot of other game dev studios, the way they inflate their own games prices is the one thing that holds them back for me. I should be able to buy Sword and Shield for... say... $25 now. But no, still $60. It's horrendous.

Phantasy star online 2 is a GREAT GAME... in Japan. The English localization is lazy and doesn't include any events... It is the difference of exploring the ocean in a boat to a submarine! The gameplay is there but there's only a tiny fraction of the content and the stuff that could be gotten from events became cash store junk. If we had the same version as in Japan it would be extremely popular! I played via the English patch for awhile but then a friend of mine joined the English version so I changed version to play with him... He soon quit the game because it's kinda empty and boring and I agree. It's like a skeleton of the real thing.
To me, Palworld is popular because it appeals to a specific demographic that Pokémon and Nintendo seem to have more or less, neglected: older Pokemon fans. Pokemon has become stale in the last 20 years. It’s become a gimmicky, repetitive, stale game series that does the same thing every year, but with slight tweaks and gimmicks. Similar to CoD. Palworld scratches that itch for older Pokemon fans that want something new and innovative. Palworld, gives us that. I’m a fan that’s become jaded and a little bored of modern Pokemon. I quit with Sun and Moon. More and more indie devs have offered alternatives to Pokemon in the monster-tamer genre. Older fans want something challenging, a little more mature, maybe a but edgy, with some dramatic story and dynamic gameplay that is enticing to master. Where Game Freak and Nintendo has neglected their older Pokemon fans, the generation that built the franchise with the first games, Pocket Pair offers to scratch that itch and pick up those older fans. However, make no mistake, I still enjoy the Pokemon anime, manga, and spin off games. But the mainline games just don’t feel too exciting anymore.
people keepcalling palworld unoriginal, while that may be true, it is at least a ton of fun but freaking pokemon hasn't been original NOR FUN apart from legends arceus for the last 10 years
Gamefreak has needed actual competition in their niche for decades. I mean somehow everything made by gamefreak since the switch came out somehow looks worse than their hand held titles.
For me, the last time the Pokemon mainline game series innovated, was X and Y. After that, it was all downhill. But, it’s honestly felt stale and stagnant for over a decade or two.
Its almost like if you took pokemon and decided hmm how can we make this actually a game that modern gamers would enjoy cause lets be real the only reason ppl play pokemon anymore is just to see the new designs or nostalgia bc the games always run the same formula gyms, evil organization, legendary pokemon, elite four. A couple of hints, you can set the Pal appearance to 3x the normal, which includes Bosses. Also, if you capture the bosses who drop schematics, you can butcher them and it counts as a "Kill" so you can double your chances, of a single Boss dropping the Legendary schematics
@@chriswihulu thanks for the info! I’ll be trying it out later.

Wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't a limit on how much you could use EV boosting items (Calcium and such).
Also, the max total EVs you can have on a PKMN is 510, and the maximum on a single stat was 255, which caused some min-max issues until it was changed to 252. So the most min-maxed spread you can have is 252 in 2 stats, with the remaining 6 in another stat.
@@espurrseyes42 ah, I'll edit that. Haven't EV trained anything since Emerald so I forgot details thx.
I agree you should be able to turn the EXP share off even though I myself wouldn’t do it because I don’t like grinding I hated that crap as a kid.
@@InquisitorShepard
"Maybe i am wrong but from what i understand, you share your EV with your entire party"
Correct.

One thing confirmed on why pokemon is not innovating is that they deliberately are not innovating.
In an interview they stated that whatever feature they added in their new title will be taken out from the next title.
They state that with this design choice each pokemon game will look and feel unique with each entry.

As a Pokemon fan I love Palworld. It's shocking how an indie title looks and plays 5x better than recent Pokemon titles. In terms of Pokemon games I only ever play the classic titles now like Crystal and Emerald.
Palworld competing and overtaking Pokémon reminds me of when Cities Skylines competing and overtaking Sim City.
They likely looked at all those Dorkly pokemon videos and turned them into a game.
As someone who's played pokemon since I was 10 years old, even I have to say that Pokemon's quality is dropping HARD in recent years... (Say what you will about Sword/Shield, but they at least tried to make the game functional and entertaining on release at the time)
I was excited for Scarlet/Violet, but after seeing the bad optimization and lack of good customization for the player character, among other things, I dropped the game and haven't touched it since.

Crazy how successful it is.
only real thing they need to polish up is the creature AI, and just a tiny bit more world fill. and maaaaybe a few more things on the tech tree. more pals and so on could allways be added later, i mean the big tree is locked off so it's clearly going to be a big content patch comming.
An underrated monster catching/collecting games you should try is Nexomon, it's corny, but I like that you can actually find and catch the other starters in the beginning of the game

If you fully condense a pal to max star rating all their work skills are increased by 1 level, and a pal with a lv5 skill works twice as fast as an identical pal but with a lv4 skill.

pall world is a case of fans of pokemone sick an tired of not getting the pokemon game they wanted so they said "fine i'll do it myself"

You can change Custom settings for your world and multiply pals to flush out the world. But unfortunately you're also multiplying bosses so goodluck.
