@@UochRS Telling impressionable children that they’re in the wrong body and they need to take puberty blockers, amounts to child abuse. There has never been a child in existence that knew what they wanted to be until they were very much older. You seem to be in that position and can make your own decisions and that’s fine. No one is denying your right to exist as whomever you want to be. If, as a male, you identify as a female, that’s fine (and vice a versa), but don’t expect me to accept that you are actually a biological woman, even after hormone blockers or a sex change operation.

As a former teacher in the UK, I am happy to say that during my work at an inner London school we were not permitted to socially transition children and no secrets were kept from parents. One teacher changed the name of a male child who was identifying as trans to their chosen female name on the register. This was noted and changed rapidly and it was explained to the teacher that she was not permitted to do this. To be fair on her, she didn't know, but it was reassuring to know that we regard the sex of the child as important. They are not permitted to use the toilets of the sex they are identifying with but rather they are given access to other facilities and everyone is catered for.

      @dyoung1492 26 днів тому +1

@@marydaniel3252 not in my school they don't though I do know some that do. It is very important for teenage girls to have a private space and in the school I worked in before retiring, this was adhered to rigidly. Girls only toilets and PE changing rooms. It's common sense. If I were the parent of a girl who was made to share a private space with a boy however nice he may be or however he identified I would kick up such a fuss. I have noticed some nice toilets in the Wellcome centre on Euston Road in London. It's an open space (so lurkers cannot!) and each toilet is its own fully lockable (no gaps) unit with handwashing facilities and bins. The toilets are constantly monitored and cleaned. So anyone can be in and out. I thought these were excellent ideas. In schools too I think there should be single cubicles dotted around so that kids can't congregate (either sex) and vape (no smoking these days), bunk off in groups or use that space to bully. A bit of good funding would solve these issues.

Every time I listen to a conversation with Helen she seems to reveal more fundamental insights into a subject I thought I had mastered.

Helen is great and I must get her book. But another book that actually explains WHY suddenly this is happening is “the queering of the American child”, pretty much explains that this movement is a political movement, it’s all about destroying cultural norms, and that anyone that wants normalcy is representing the dominant bourgeoisie. When in fact this movement is about tearing chaos, targeting children is the easiest way to push through critical theory which comes from Marxism. I always thought Marxism was about equality and communism, but it’s much more than that, it’s about making society and humans equal in every way that we are just a nothing, and we’re all equally nothing together. That’s why gender supersedes sex in this theory because anyone who goes against normal is now the new protected special which encourages all this nonsense. It’s destroying our lives, and in particular the working classes

The kids who are attracted this stuff are the kind of misfit teens who would have been attracted to goth or emo 20 years ago. If they see that this annoys older authority figures, many of them are only going to want to do it more. Kids are supposedly "banned" by the law from drinking, smoking, taking drugs, watching porn. Does it actually stop them doing it?

We need to somehow change or create a competing standard of status. The people we laud should be the people who most stick their neck out like JK rowling or Tommy Robinson and the people we scorn and have the most contempt for should be the polite middle classes and liberal cosmopolitans.

However don’t forget that this also operates in a ‘patronage’ kind of way, ensuring the loyalty of those he rewards so lavishly. The latter motivation can apply to both sexes, actually. And there are also genuinely generous people, let’s not forget.

I had a brilliant High School teacher who once said that societies perception of what is okay for women to be like swings like a pendulum, this is when we were looking at the literature of teh '20's vs. the late 1800's. At one point (say the late 70's and 80's when I as in High School (!)) it was okay to be like the guys. At that time, 90% of kids in my school had long hair and wore the same kinds of clothes. Seriously, down to the same brand of tennis shoes and jeans. I can remember one boy with a short hair cut and the only girls who wore skirts were the cheerleaders on game day who had to wear their uniforms. Let's say that's the "gender neutral" end of the pendulum. We're now at the "hyper polarized" side. I fear I won't live long enough for it to swing back.
I'm afraid I never got to tell Ms. Robeck how brilliant she was.

51:30 Helen is pondering why young women are supportive of the humiliating stereotyping and reducing of women and womanhood down to vapid porn dolls.
I think it's interesting how young women are extremely attracted to horse riding. They also enjoy a gay man's company when discussing "girly" subjects like dress design and home decor. This discussions involve the art of presenting their insight and taste to prospective male partners.
I think there is an unconscious attraction to maleness (just like AGPs have an unconscious attraction to femaleness).
The power and physicality of a horse, and the open candour of a flamboyant gay man are a means by which women can experience and gain insight to men.
I say this because once women enter long term stable relationships with men they tend to lose these particular interests.
I was watching a "reality" TV programme about women choosing their wedding dresses. The female assistants were older, very made up, but NOT overly competitive sexually, and one of them was a gay man. The narrator was also a young straight man - who you never saw - but was presented as a dis- "embodied" male representative.
This stylised fractured presentation of men in a wedding dress boutique sums up for me the very strange demands women have of men as a presence in their lives.
It also hints at a certain resentment they have of men, perhaps, ironically a resentment that men embody very things they find so attractive about men!
You might even see this covert disembodying of maleness as almost a counterpart to the middle aged men dressing as a woman. They want contact with something on their terms.

First step is to go back to what the word 'liberal' actually means. It means open-minded. What does open-minded mean? It means listening to all sides, gathering as much information and opinion and then evaluating. Not just blinding accepting, or endlessly discussing, or opening the floor to anyone with a two-bit, half-baked opinion. Liberal does not mean 'kind'. It does not mean indiscriminate. It actually is more synonymous with listening, actually hearing what is going on all around and then having the emotional intelligence to sort through the bs and the bias and the outright lies. Liberals dropped the ball. It was never up to the Conservatives to do this work, this work is up to the Liberals. Once Liberals do all the leg work, they then take the new ideas and bring them to the Conservatives (who are in no way bound to simply accept something just because.) The Conservative's job is to say because why, and then the Liberals brings their best and most persuasive arguments, after eliminating the junk causes and the junk arguments. Liberals' job is to prove not just the rightness but the value to society. In the U.S., the Liberal/Conservative dichotomy is one of the informal checks and balances on our system. And this requires that Liberals do their due diligence and stop just accepting ideas out of some warped, misguided, and frankly sad sense of kindness. Our job as Liberals is not kindness (that's the mother's job) our job is fairness and thoroughness. To consider all sides and to apply weight to arguments not based on individual sympathies (do that in your personal life) but for the general welfare, and Liberals have epically failed in our duty. And that failure of unbridled emotional impulses has led the whole world to insanity. And I don't blame the Conservatives for not trusting us, we listened to and were swayed by liars, zealots, and just plain crazy people. P.S. If mothers hadn't stopped being kind and frankly doing what you call 'building strong relationships with their kids' (when did that become optional?) than people wouldn't be looking to government policy and the mental health community for kindness and understanding. That's a mother's job, and if you don't want that job, don't become a mother. Offering and teaching your kids kindness is not discretionary, and it is certainly not the governments job. And just the thought that we are actually, seriously looking to the government for kindness should make it really evident that we have effed up as a society, big time. P.S. Second step is to go back and define emotional intelligence. And the first step of that is emotional control. Not projecting yourself into every situation as if it were actually happen to you. That's the opposite of emotional intelligence, which is pulling yourself out of what is actually happening to you in order to be objective and as unbiased as possible. I don't know how it ever became acceptable to listen to people who were PROJECTING THEMSELVES IN situations that are not their own, that's the opposite of what adults are supposed to be doing and the opposite of what we are supposed to be teaching kids. And what would be the limits on that once we open the door? In the U.S. we had a Congress woman who during a turbulent event at the Capitol a few years ago reverted into a child-like state of intellectual incapacity because she claimed to be a victim of sexual assault in her past. Turns out she was never in any danger at all - the danger only existed in her imagination. Assuming any and all parts of her story was even true, and even that is questionable as she doesn't inspire much trust. When our leaders are so emotionally unstable they project their own personal trauma into every situation, how is objectivity and rational action, let alone rational rules for the rest of us, ever possible? Sorry, but we have to demand grown-up emotional balance and control from our leaders and frankly from everyone who wants a place on the adult stage.
