Regardless of it seeming so one-sided, all those small gunboats had to get was lucky once and hit Hiryu (which never was very well armored to begin with), start a nice fire, and take the CV out of the campaign. I know it wasn't intentional, and I laugh heartily when it's happened on occasion to me, but it's always a bit worrisome.
Wolf, remember how force strength is calculated in a location. Basically, all troops that have matching supply count as 5x, otherwise 1x. Any defenses count as 0.2 for each level of port of airfield. With 6000 troops and no supply at Batavia and having only 10% of the total, that suggests (assuming the allies had adequate supply there) the total force for them is 54,000, so 38571 after correcting for defenes. After correcting for supply, probably about 7700. You'll get more bang if you transport supplies than more troops right now. WoTS uses a proportional loss system (i.e. if Force A has 10% of the total force in an area, and the total damage causable by all forces is X, Force A causes 0.1X damage to Force B and Force B 0.9X damage to Force A. This is capped, so it limits things a bit (and simulates that not all troops in an area are in the frontline and fighting), but if you can even add 1000 supply to that location, you'll increase your contribution to the total force in the location to 10,000, thus 17% of the total. Still a long way to go, but eventually doable if you concentrate on that location alone for now. (BTW, it's like taking on Port Moresby in the vanilla game now where there are 5000 troops, 10000 supply, a port 3, and airfield 4 for a total of 5000x5x(1+7x0.2)=60000 force) The land combat system just doesn't really support widespread offensives; in fact, it punishes them.
@@sangay9361 ABDACom seems to be very stingy with supply for the IJN. The game engine itself is a bit weighted in favor of the allies. No mod can change that. It's one reason why I always play Japan in all scenarios.
The sinking ship animations really strike home the massive wastefulness of war. Aside from the human cost, just a staggering amount of valuable material (steel, wood, food, etc.) is totally lost to the sea floor.
It is a good game. It shows the competing problem concentrating force, and dealing with multiple missions. Watching this has give some insight into the pressures that caused the fragmentation of Japanese naval power that lead to the set back in the coral sea, and defeat at Midway.

@@papasmurfette007 yk the best part about carrier squadrons is that they come from a carrier, wich being a big boat drastically limits the random collateral or accidental bombings. Thats how 40+ years away from the military service will let you have some leeway in perspective.👍🗾🗻🏯🪖⚔
You moving the camera around constantly made following both attacks on the cruisers nearly impossible. 26:24 - Shigure-chan protects her battleship Fuso.
Always makes my day when you drop a new video - these are the best. Quick question: does dropping supplies along with invading troops help their combat performance? (I don't have the game myself.)
Would be fun to see a US campaign start right here if you can set it up like that. Maybe get 1 large US task force ordered in by the President or something
Man, that is an enjoyable campaign to watch. Maybe next time muricans, focusing (or only getting) more modern ships? Would be awesome to see some baltimore/gearing combos in action. Might also make for a challenge as you'd have less ships to cover ground.
BB Salvo vs anything gonna be tremendous damage & destruction especially little ships like that. Even a close miss probably do enough damage & flooding to take them down lol Nice !!!!
ey just got caught up this morning too lol. Inspired me to test and see what happens if i get a cv at the beginning of the centrifugal offensive campaign as well Also looks like somebody forgot to click 4

Hey pal, I usually dont complain, but... I had so many ads in this one. Literally unwatchable, especially at the beginning. I had ads at roughly following time stamps: 2:00 / 5:30 / 9:30 / 15:30 / 32:40 / 45:05. Notice how unevenly distributed they are. Like at the begin of the video you had like every 2 to 3 minutes an ad. Then there is a gap of 17 minutes in between. I dont know if thats something on purpose or if UA-cams automated settings kicked in. Dont get me wrong, I want to support you, but maybe have it like evenly spread out? Every 10 minutes or so? It would be still 4 to 5 ads, but yeah, my attention span was really put to the test here. That said: Another good video. I like your voice and your editing. Following you for a long time now and I get excited for every bit of War on the Sea content.
Is it just me or is there something inherently wrong with the damage model of this game. A cruiser takes six torpedo hits, three on each side and doesn't sink. I just can't believe that could've happened in real life.
The carrier closing to engage literal tugboats in Honorable Naval Melee Combat, any closer and you'd be exchanging boarding parties lmao

The sky-high citadel on those Fuso battleships gives me anxiety attacks that she will just capsize.
The sight and sound of those shells ripping through the tiny corvettes was truly awesome. The mods for this game really make it so much better.
The sound of Fuso's shells whipping by is insane.

Replacing aircraft and rearming ships costs also supply if I remember correctly.
Keep this series going PLEASE. Seeing Fuso for the first time is awesome head towards Australia with her convoy.
Best episode so far - lots of engagements, sea and air. And a pagoda battleship.
Guess the Admiral's batman on Fuso would get fit, running up and down all those levels with cups of tea...

Those shells sounded like death on speed. 🔥🔥🔥
Sailor: “Captain! 2 Ships spotted sir!!!” Captain: “oh crap! What is it, 2 destroyers?” Sailor: “uuuuh” Fuso: “Hi!”
Mighty Jingles over the radio: "Hello! It's *ME!"*
I'm enjoying this series. Thank you for your updates and professional demeanor.
I think your intro really captured the despair that befell the ABDACOM forces during the Japanese offensive. Great work!
Oh my word, those puny pair of corvettes at the end got swatted like blue-arsed flies and said goodbye to the world without much ceremony! 😯😮
Don't stop until port Darwin is a red star.
Two flights of Val on a single tugboat (very beginning)? That's just child abuse...

The vals and kates were such easy targets during their attack run,and barely any hits.

A 45 Minute Video for my DAYOFF!!!!?? HELL YEAH WHAT A REST DAY!😂
You moving the camera around constantly made following both attacks on the cruisers nearly impossible.
26:24 - Shigure-chan protects her battleship Fuso.
19:15 I´ve always said that carrier would be a cool convoy raider...
You channel is one of maybe 5 others that I was consistenly anticipate content from. Keep up the awesome work.
Fantastic, well done Wolfpack - love this series.
new series hell yeah
Was following this series, Finally we got the battleship putting in some work. Awesome.
Truly amazing, the effect of the huge naval guns letting rip is a brilliant addition to the game.

Loving these types of series, keep up the good content!
The last engagement was cool - two hazelnut shells against a giant coconut shell :D
Love the Ghost of Tsushima music going on in this one knew it as soon as it started
I Really enjoyed seeing the Vals in action. Great video, thank you very much Wolfpack. 😊
A true massacre. This episode had all the paying customer needed. Congratulations.
In the words of Wolfpack345, "fantastic"!
Just got off closing from a long shift and see this gem appear on the top of my recommended list
Nice to see my beloved Kagero in action :)
Everybody has a plan until they get hit by a Fuso.
Fuso: We need an even taller conning tower!
FYI Vals can strafe. Also when torping from the front try putting the planes in line ahead.
This series is very exciting
Well done
I love how you have so much luck finding the enemy in your videos

Outstanding work sir.
Bro, u made it looked easy! Fuso was a MONSTER!! 😂
Wolfpack is really tempting fate by pairing Fuso and Shigure together
Good choice on the Fuso
For the glory of the empire!

Missing the 4 in ep. 14 my dude. Great episode as always!
BB Salvo vs anything gonna be tremendous damage & destruction especially little ships like that. Even a close miss probably do enough damage & flooding to take them down lol Nice !!!!
Excellent game play!
Fuso's main gun rounds probably weigh more than the corvettes they are being fired at lol
A single Yamato turret weighed more then an entire Fletcher class destroyer......
Ep 1?
i sorted, you are first
Only the really early people will understand.
Would be interesting to see you attempt to come back from the position the allies are in now. Another great ep!
He has an earlier series where he did that. Great series.
