as a last resort on my Dutch shepherd/Husky I tried the e-collar. Nellie has a really strong prey drive. she had good recall in our yard, but could never be off leash walking or running our country roads. She also would take off after deer and blast through the invisible fence and luckily always returned, not to our home but our neighbors to play with their Husky... she would never come when I called her once she escaped through the fence it was so frustrating. I had been told by many professional dog trainers that her prey drive was too strong and I'd have to always have here on leash when we are off our property. I am so thankful I came across your youtube site, and tried one last thing, the e-collar and it worked!! after training her on the e-collar she runs and walks with me off leash, returns to heel position when I call her... I can even refocus her when a deer, rabbit or wild Turkey 's show up. Nellie and I both want to thank you!! You are the best!!
So right Larry, dogs aren't meant to live in a yard/garden or stuck on a lead. Love watching my girl run. Kind of Tom to send a collar. A great young trainer as well : )
My Dane happily works for praise, no food or play drive. But she is so eager to please I don't need it. We are actually working on her e-collar training now lol. This video was perfect!
My dog didn't have a food drive either. I fed her 1 C. less of food (she eats 4C/day). I trained before she ate, when she was hungry. I used high quality freeze dried raw treats. So, she got the missing cup of food, through high quality healthy treats. Anyway, Stanly is so cute and thanks for the great video!
Its the same as prong collars...people need to know these tools are not a permanent feature in the dogs life...i used my prong on my yr old boerboel coz of lunging an pulling... i used good nicely timed corrections an took me 2 wks to mould a really nice heel and good behaviour...hes now 6 an is still beuatifully well mannrred on lead.
I had to laugh. We have his female twin in group class on Fridays. Age and color. It was raining yesterday so we were at Home Depot going under things. The GSDs were crushing it. The GD was like , do you morons have anything I can go under without crawling ??
My pup was doing great with the e-collar but now during distractions no amount of stimulus will get him off it. The vibrate on the mini-educator gets his attention right away though because I’ve never used it before. Worried that the stim is losing its affect though during distractions. Otherwise he responds appropriately to it.
So I listen to your UA-cam’s all the time they’re really good but I just wanted to say you look like you’ve lost a lot of weight I’m only saying it because I’m constantly trying to lose weight I just wondered was there a program that you did? Keep it up
Id like to see how you get him to stop barking with the ecollar. My guess is youll positively train the dog to bark on command. Maybe even mark how to be quiet. Then get him to avoid the ecollar pressure when barking. Correct me if im wrong coach.

Wait, you were in Vegas? Damn! I respect all you do and enjoy the wisdom you give. Will you give seminars soon?
Good explanation
Love this session!
Thanks for your explanation prior to the rest of the video -I think that you cleared up some confusion around your methods!
I don’t feed the night before training. Next day food drive just appeared..
“These dogs need to run” should be the new e collar slogan
