As a lady who is in the process of getting laser hair removal, I need to warn y'all it gets more painful. The first visit is not. But they have to turn the laser up higher as time goes on. I've done three sessions so far, eight weeks apart and the third one was extremely painful in some areas. The ankles are painful and the "mons" area (right over your pubic bone) is so bad, I squawked and had to ask the tech for a quick break. This may not be the case for everyone, but it is for me so just please be aware that it may be painful. Edit: it is worth every second of pain to only have to shave once about every six weeks with minimal grow back. Over time, it should go to almost none. I feel much more sexy now. What can I say? For anyone interested in getting laser, I have very pale skin and get laser for armpits and bikini. It hurts like hell because I have very sensitive skin but it’s very fast (about 15 minutes in total) and I can get through it. I can also ask for a break if I need to. Even though it’s incredibly painful, I don’t have any pain afterwards and the effect is amazing! The pain is totally worth it!
in my country full legs + bikini area + armpits costs me 100€ every 2 months. It's extremely painful (specially on the sensitive areas it feels like they're passing a burning torch through your body) but it's worth it I guess :) @@elliex7551

@@khalilahd. yeah it’s really scary but the results are so worth it. i’d say i have a pretty medium pain tolerance and it does hurt quite a bit for me, but the pain is over really quickly. it lasts about five seconds and it’s over before you know it. plus they have cool air blowing with the laser so it soothes it a bit! but yeah, overall, i would highly recommend if you can put up with the short-term pain! (btw i only got it on my legs and underarms)
@@NotYaLix I’m middle eastern so I had thick hair and a lot of it. It took me 15 sessions to get a 95% hair reduction. I don’t need to shave anymore, I feel confident going out with whatever hair I have left. My armpit hair did grow back like 50% though so I still need to shave that, but it’s not as bad as it used to be. I had my last session about 2 years ago. They recommend to do 1 maintenance session every year but I haven’t felt the need to do it. The amount of session you need depends on your hair but they told me average is around 12 sessions. Once you’ve completed your sessions, most of the hair loss is permanent.
I did laser for over a year, and it is VERY painful if you have dark (thick) hairs and you’re doing sensitive areas of the body. Much more painful than waxing ever was. Over time as less hairs grow back and they get thinner, it’s more tolerable.

What do you mean light hair? Everyone has dark hair in the bikini area and armpit (with few exceptions) and even most people with light (head) hair have dark body hair. I am a wax specialist and I have had guests mention to me that they had lazer hair removal done and after becoming pregnant, the hair had regrown due to hormone changes. I usually recomend getting laser hair removal after having children to avoid the chance of it regrowing~
When she calls legs, underarms and Brazilian “basically whole body” like girlll you don’t know what it’s like to be truly hairy everywhere 😂😂😂 full body laser for me would have to be everywhere but my scalp and eyebrows cause otherwise I’d still have shaving/waxing to do! The darker and thicker your hair is, the more it hurts. And certain areas hurt more than others. It's tolerable, but not pain-free. But I also had to use the yag laser because I have dark skin, so that might also make a difference.
@@darklightangles I still highly recommend it. I have faith that you can take the pain. If I can do it, you definitely can. But I was willing to do anything because I was very hairy and it was thick and dark. And temporarily removing that hair led to scarring.

PSA: Laser Hair removal gets more painful the more you go. They up the voltage or whatever kills the follicles so it goes deeper into the skin. It’s bearable pain but it doesn’t stay pain free forever.
If you go to a laser removal clinic with latest tech, it wouldn’t be that painful, sure they up the voltage, but the pain is almost the same as before, barely even there.
This will probably get lost in the plethora of comments, but I just wanted to share with those thinking of getting this. Laser hair removal requires several treatments for it to be at the level of hairlessness you are comfortable with. Usually the first treatment will be the easiest. The first treatment is set at the lowest setting and it will gradually increase with each session. When I had this done a few years ago I was not aware of this. The first treatment I had was a breeze and thought I had this in the bag. 😂 I think I was about 4 or 5 treatments in when I actually had to stop and reschedule the session because it was too intense. I was able to go back and finish the session without a hitch though. The toughest part honestly was that I happened to have a not incredibly common histamine reaction after the treatment. I would get raised hives that would cover my legs only (thank heavens it was only my legs this happened to.) The hives were so incredibly itchy. It maked it difficult to sleep for first few nights after each treatment. I learned to start taking an antihistamine, like Benadryl or Claritin, a day before, the day of, and the days after my appointment. That did help lesson the severity of the histamine reaction. Now for the sensation of the treatment, I would say it was similar to the snap of a rubber band against your skin. It can be VERY intense but it subsides almost immediately. The laser mechanism does give a blast of cool air as the laser flashes counteracting the heat of the laser. I don't want it to seem scary but I also want anyone thinking about it to know what is like to go through the whole process. Many things can effect your experience: where you are in your hormone cycle, skin color, hair color, pain tolerance, etc. I still think it was totally worth it and would do it again. I love that my daily routine is so much shorter and I now have the excuse to sleep in a little longer on the morning. 😅
Reminder y’all that it’s also okay to want body hair. It’s something natural and everyone has it (unless you have a condition) just let ppl be happy whatever they choose
yess! if i ever have kids i will we teach my sons and especially daughters that it’s okay if they want to shave, not shave, whatever but remember, do it for yourself. body hair shouldn’t be such a stigmatized thing for women to have. i wish my parent had told me this growing up.
My husband is Indian and he says shaving isn't the most common thing there . Sure some, maybe even a lot, of women remove some of their body hair but it's not EXPECTED. in the USA it's like you're a beast if you're hairy. I have eczema and sensitive skin, even showering with too hot water can cause a flare up, let alone scraping my skin with a razor. So I rarely shave, especially not my underarms and legs. And my husband says nothing, other than that he likes the way my legs feel when they're super hairy or freshly shaved lol each time I shave, once it gets prickly he jokingly says "this is why you shouldn't shave" 😂

I did laser hair removal over 14 years ago and I don't regret it. I haven't had any retouches done since my first year of sessions on different sections of my body and my hair hasn't grown back. I love it!

That's a totally different laser than what I got. Mine hurt like hell and I was red and painful afterwards. I went to a different clinic the next time and they put a cream on me before they lasered and it didn't nearly hurt as much. For anyone wanting to get this done, make sure to ask their process and which laser they use before you make an appointment so you can get a more painless treatment! Also fyi, this is not a permanent fix. You have to keep going back, the visits just get more time between the longer you go

I think you had the older type of laser. I had those years ago and true enough, they truly hurt. My legs would involuntarily move because of the pain. And I also have a high pain tolerance so imagine the level of pain i was in. 😅
Remember ladies laser hair removal takes multiple sessions and you need to do all the sessions. Also, when your hormones change, the hair comes back. That all being said... best decision I ever made for my under arms. However... your body odor can change. I HAVE to use deodorant now. One of my friends rarely needs it now

I am currently undergoing laser treatment. I remove hair with a diode laser, because I am a little dark and if you have pigment in your skin, then it is better to choose a diode laser so that there is no pigmentation. The girl in the video removes hair with an alexandrite laser, it is more effective, but again, the risk of pigmentation is higher. Honey, laser is the best investment. Before that, I didn’t wear tops, because I was embarrassed by my line at the stomach. I always had ingrown hairs there, which I picked and which left post-acne and scars. Now, thank God, everything is fine, I have become much more confident in myself, nothing itches and is not irritated after shaving. I advise you unequivocally. I do bikinis, belly, underarms and legs up to the knee.
I recommend laser 100%! Even though it’s expensive I love it soo much! I’m still in process but I already shave only once a month! For me it’s very painful (like a thousand needles pinching me) but it takes about 15 minutes for armpits and bikini so it’s pretty fast! I’m considering getting laser for my legs, too. I would recommend doing it in autumn/winter because sun can make skin more sensitive!

My friend has a really low pain tolerance. She said she *cried* during every session because of the pain. Everyone will react to it differently. I'm glad it didn't hurt you as bad. I've gotten laser hair removal too and it all comes down to your hair texture like if it's thick or thin. Depending on that, the number of sessions you may have to take and the maintenance after that. One big mistake of mine was to go for it before the pandemic which disrupted my appointment frequencies and had to do extra sessions
My contract was to get 10 sessions in a set number of months. The pandemic hit and they didn't even bother to tell anyone when they were open again. Didn't extend the time frame. Refused to do the sessions afterwards. I basically paid for 10 sessions and got 2.
I’ve been doing laser for almost three years. Best decision ever! It hurts more when you have a ton of hair so the first few sessions can hurt a lot but after a few times I only had to go once or twice a year for touch ups and you barely feel the laser.
Laser experience really changes based on what machine they use so make sure to make your research before everyone!! No regrets tho i love how my results turned out
Great video! My best tip though, never do it during your period even if they tell you it will be okay. I did once and it was so so horrible! It feels like a (hot and cold) rubber band popping you over and over . I’m having all the same areas done and on my 8th visit. Totally worth being hair and bump free. Never have to worry in shorts or bathing suit.

Electrolysis is painful and bullshit, just go straight for laser. My last electrolysis tech was a real bitch, the process was painful, and I didn’t get results.

I’ve been getting laser hair removals ever since this video came out. I was convincing myself my experience would be just the same as Hailey’s but boy was I wrong. It’s one of the worst pains I’ve ever felt and it’s all throughout my body. It’s like someone’s skinning me alive for 3 hours. Am very brave and I’ve tolerated a lot of pain in my life. Broke bones. Got so many different types of laser treatments. Got tooth plucked without anesthesia. Got piercings. But this pain is one of the worst I’ve felt. The ONLY worse pain I can think of is fractal laser and Morpheus8. I would still argue laser hair removal is the worst because of the duration I need to endure. I’ve never considered giving up on a treatment. But oh boy I just can’t stand this. Am just gonna stick to the razors as much as I hate them.
@@doclinny but body hair still needs to be trimmed neatly if not shaven, taken care of, etc etc. a big bush can irritate you. they want the end results of shaving without going through the trouble of shaving, so it's why they're considering laser. It's not about body hair acceptance here but the maintenance.

@@annanowak9620 all over my face, as I had a lot of facial hair, dramatic reduction in the dark thick hairs, shaving of little bits is much easier and once the final session is done in a few weeks, will go over to electrolysis once laser is done to finish off hairs around mole and white hairs that the laser doesn't work on.
@@annanowak9620 it may leave little areas around the base of hairs which are raised for a few days, it's something I can see in the mirror, but its not very noticeable.

I have very thick black hair above my lips and when I shave them I still can see black dots on my skin and I cover that part with makeup foundation but when there is a lot of light the black dots from under the foundation can be seen so I thought about getting them removed and have peace for some time. Usually people have different pain tolerances, so if it doesn’t hurt at all to someone, it could be very painful to someone else. This is usually the case with influencers, however, many people have a different ranges of pain tolerance depending on the person ( sorry for the paragraph 😅)

This is very interesting! I, too, have been thinking about it for a few years. Can I ask what the price range was? Because the main thing that is stopping me from doing this is my fear of the expense, as my mom did this and she told me hers was a couple thousand, but she got a discount because she knew the owner. She also did it in the mid 2000’s, somewhere between 2005 and 2008, so I’m not sure if pricing has changed. (Yes, angry commenters, I know I can just google search it but I’d still like to ask someone who’s actually gotten it done.)
For anyone interested in this, remember that it's not Laser Hair Removal but Reduction, you will most still have hair after (especially lighter hair) and will have to get touch-ups. It's also useful to check if your hormones are in order, because if they're not, you won't see much of a difference and the hair growths might even get worse.
Please read about paradoxical regrowth. It's a phenomenon that often happens after laser on the face. Basically you risk having MORE hair on your face than what you have.

It depends on the person, to me certain areas of my bikini zone and basically my whole underarms really sting like a b*tch. I have really tick dark hair there, so it makes sense that it will release more energy through the form of heat as they get zapped out of this realm. To me it feels like a rubber band snapping on the skin.

When I did it 15+ years ago, it was super painful! they recommended we take tylenol right beforehand to dull the pain a bit (not sure if that's how tylenol works but it's what they said)
I'm like 15 and get laser done and for me it doesn't burn/sting or hurt at all, literally feel nothing but cold air from the air con in the room and the machine 🤣 I have had at least like 8 sessions of arms, legs, moustache etc. So you might be lucky like me 🎉
Just people know, I also had the whole body done and it’s not painful at first, but the last few sessions are extremely painful. I actually developed a hypersensitivity to the laser and had to quit (lost the money I paid for the last few appointments, and it is really expensive!)

I did laser for over a year, and it is VERY painful if you have dark (thick) hairs and you’re doing sensitive areas of the body. Much more painful than waxing ever was. Over time as less hairs grow back and they get thinner, it’s more tolerable.

I am a wax specialist and I have had guests mention to me that they had lazer hair removal done and after becoming pregnant, the hair had regrown due to hormone changes.
I usually recomend getting laser hair removal after having children to avoid the chance of it regrowing~

The darker and thicker your hair is, the more it hurts. And certain areas hurt more than others. It's tolerable, but not pain-free. But I also had to use the yag laser because I have dark skin, so that might also make a difference.

@@darklightangles I still highly recommend it. I have faith that you can take the pain. If I can do it, you definitely can. But I was willing to do anything because I was very hairy and it was thick and dark. And temporarily removing that hair led to scarring.

PSA: Laser Hair removal gets more painful the more you go. They up the voltage or whatever kills the follicles so it goes deeper into the skin. It’s bearable pain but it doesn’t stay pain free forever.

If you go to a laser removal clinic with latest tech, it wouldn’t be that painful, sure they up the voltage, but the pain is almost the same as before, barely even there.
Does it cause cancer?
This will probably get lost in the plethora of comments, but I just wanted to share with those thinking of getting this. Laser hair removal requires several treatments for it to be at the level of hairlessness you are comfortable with. Usually the first treatment will be the easiest. The first treatment is set at the lowest setting and it will gradually increase with each session.
When I had this done a few years ago I was not aware of this. The first treatment I had was a breeze and thought I had this in the bag. 😂 I think I was about 4 or 5 treatments in when I actually had to stop and reschedule the session because it was too intense. I was able to go back and finish the session without a hitch though. The toughest part honestly was that I happened to have a not incredibly common histamine reaction after the treatment. I would get raised hives that would cover my legs only (thank heavens it was only my legs this happened to.) The hives were so incredibly itchy. It maked it difficult to sleep for first few nights after each treatment. I learned to start taking an antihistamine, like Benadryl or Claritin, a day before, the day of, and the days after my appointment. That did help lesson the severity of the histamine reaction.
Now for the sensation of the treatment, I would say it was similar to the snap of a rubber band against your skin. It can be VERY intense but it subsides almost immediately. The laser mechanism does give a blast of cool air as the laser flashes counteracting the heat of the laser.
I don't want it to seem scary but I also want anyone thinking about it to know what is like to go through the whole process. Many things can effect your experience: where you are in your hormone cycle, skin color, hair color, pain tolerance, etc.
I still think it was totally worth it and would do it again. I love that my daily routine is so much shorter and I now have the excuse to sleep in a little longer on the morning. 😅

My husband is Indian and he says shaving isn't the most common thing there . Sure some, maybe even a lot, of women remove some of their body hair but it's not EXPECTED. in the USA it's like you're a beast if you're hairy. I have eczema and sensitive skin, even showering with too hot water can cause a flare up, let alone scraping my skin with a razor. So I rarely shave, especially not my underarms and legs. And my husband says nothing, other than that he likes the way my legs feel when they're super hairy or freshly shaved lol each time I shave, once it gets prickly he jokingly says "this is why you shouldn't shave" 😂

Unusually thick, dense body hair in a woman could easily mean something is 'off' hormonally. Like with PCOS. Of course, it can also just be genetic.
So if one doesn't come from a 'hairy' family it's worth getting it checked out.

I did laser hair removal over 14 years ago and I don't regret it. I haven't had any retouches done since my first year of sessions on different sections of my body and my hair hasn't grown back. I love it!

That's a totally different laser than what I got. Mine hurt like hell and I was red and painful afterwards. I went to a different clinic the next time and they put a cream on me before they lasered and it didn't nearly hurt as much. For anyone wanting to get this done, make sure to ask their process and which laser they use before you make an appointment so you can get a more painless treatment! Also fyi, this is not a permanent fix. You have to keep going back, the visits just get more time between the longer you go

Felt like little rubber bands to me. But I got mine like 8 years ago! I think the cold is just the cooling fan and helps distract from the pain.

I think you had the older type of laser. I had those years ago and true enough, they truly hurt. My legs would involuntarily move because of the pain. And I also have a high pain tolerance so imagine the level of pain i was in. 😅

Remember ladies laser hair removal takes multiple sessions and you need to do all the sessions. Also, when your hormones change, the hair comes back. That all being said... best decision I ever made for my under arms. However... your body odor can change. I HAVE to use deodorant now. One of my friends rarely needs it now

I am currently undergoing laser treatment. I remove hair with a diode laser, because I am a little dark and if you have pigment in your skin, then it is better to choose a diode laser so that there is no pigmentation. The girl in the video removes hair with an alexandrite laser, it is more effective, but again, the risk of pigmentation is higher. Honey, laser is the best investment. Before that, I didn’t wear tops, because I was embarrassed by my line at the stomach. I always had ingrown hairs there, which I picked and which left post-acne and scars. Now, thank God, everything is fine, I have become much more confident in myself, nothing itches and is not irritated after shaving. I advise you unequivocally. I do bikinis, belly, underarms and legs up to the knee.
I recommend laser 100%! Even though it’s expensive I love it soo much! I’m still in process but I already shave only once a month! For me it’s very painful (like a thousand needles pinching me) but it takes about 15 minutes for armpits and bikini so it’s pretty fast! I’m considering getting laser for my legs, too. I would recommend doing it in autumn/winter because sun can make skin more sensitive!

I've gotten laser hair removal too and it all comes down to your hair texture like if it's thick or thin. Depending on that, the number of sessions you may have to take and the maintenance after that. One big mistake of mine was to go for it before the pandemic which disrupted my appointment frequencies and had to do extra sessions
My contract was to get 10 sessions in a set number of months. The pandemic hit and they didn't even bother to tell anyone when they were open again. Didn't extend the time frame. Refused to do the sessions afterwards. I basically paid for 10 sessions and got 2.

I’ve been doing laser for almost three years. Best decision ever! It hurts more when you have a ton of hair so the first few sessions can hurt a lot but after a few times I only had to go once or twice a year for touch ups and you barely feel the laser.

Great video! My best tip though, never do it during your period even if they tell you it will be okay. I did once and it was so so horrible! My appointments hurt like hell. Part of the areas I had done also never worked because my hair was too close to my skin color, so big time waste of money overall (for me personally).
It feels like a (hot and cold) rubber band popping you over and over . I’m having all the same areas done and on my 8th visit. Totally worth being hair and bump free. Never have to worry in shorts or bathing suit.

Electrolysis is painful and bullshit, just go straight for laser. My last electrolysis tech was a real bitch, the process was painful, and I didn’t get results.
I cannot emphasize enough the importance of the clinic that you go to being professional and kind and having good bedside manner. It is absolutely paramount and also signifies a legitimate business with happy customers.

I’ve been getting laser hair removals ever since this video came out. I was convincing myself my experience would be just the same as Hailey’s but boy was I wrong. It’s one of the worst pains I’ve ever felt and it’s all throughout my body. It’s like someone’s skinning me alive for 3 hours. Am very brave and I’ve tolerated a lot of pain in my life. Broke bones. Got so many different types of laser treatments. Got tooth plucked without anesthesia. Got piercings. But this pain is one of the worst I’ve felt. The ONLY worse pain I can think of is fractal laser and Morpheus8. I would still argue laser hair removal is the worst because of the duration I need to endure. I’ve never considered giving up on a treatment. But oh boy I just can’t stand this. Am just gonna stick to the razors as much as I hate them.
Laser hair removal is literally the best thing I ever did. I shave about once every 3 months.

@@annanowak9620 all over my face, as I had a lot of facial hair, dramatic reduction in the dark thick hairs, shaving of little bits is much easier and once the final session is done in a few weeks, will go over to electrolysis once laser is done to finish off hairs around mole and white hairs that the laser doesn't work on.
@@annanowak9620 it may leave little areas around the base of hairs which are raised for a few days, it's something I can see in the mirror, but its not very noticeable.

I have very thick black hair above my lips and when I shave them I still can see black dots on my skin and I cover that part with makeup foundation but when there is a lot of light the black dots from under the foundation can be seen so I thought about getting them removed and have peace for some time. Usually people have different pain tolerances, so if it doesn’t hurt at all to someone, it could be very painful to someone else. This is usually the case with influencers, however, many people have a different ranges of pain tolerance depending on the person ( sorry for the paragraph 😅)

This is very interesting! I, too, have been thinking about it for a few years. Can I ask what the price range was? Because the main thing that is stopping me from doing this is my fear of the expense, as my mom did this and she told me hers was a couple thousand, but she got a discount because she knew the owner. She also did it in the mid 2000’s, somewhere between 2005 and 2008, so I’m not sure if pricing has changed.

For anyone interested in this, remember that it's not Laser Hair Removal but Reduction, you will most still have hair after (especially lighter hair) and will have to get touch-ups. It's also useful to check if your hormones are in order, because if they're not, you won't see much of a difference and the hair growths might even get worse.
I would much rather leave my hair as it is than go through pain.

Please read about paradoxical regrowth. It's a phenomenon that often happens after laser on the face. Basically you risk having MORE hair on your face than what you have.

It depends on the person, to me certain areas of my bikini zone and basically my whole underarms really sting like a b*tch. I have really tick dark hair there, so it makes sense that it will release more energy through the form of heat as they get zapped out of this realm. To me it feels like a rubber band snapping on the skin.
I bought one to do at home and it doesn't hurt, I only feel a bit of heat the second it hits my body but it doesn't hurt to anyone wanting to know ❤❤

I just got laser removal and it's js like the most painful thing (if u have thick hair and it's one of the first sessions). Especially when u do it in ur private spot-

Good for you! I have spend thou$and$ of bucks on laser hair removal on myself, and I am so glad that I did. It hurts, but it is totally worth it.

When I did it 15+ years ago, it was super painful! they recommended we take tylenol right beforehand to dull the pain a bit (not sure if that's how tylenol works but it's what they said)
I'm like 15 and get laser done and for me it doesn't burn/sting or hurt at all, literally feel nothing but cold air from the air con in the room and the machine 🤣 I have had at least like 8 sessions of arms, legs, moustache etc. So you might be lucky like me 🎉
This is my dream come true to get full body laser hair removal. PCOS girly with extremely sensitive skin. So shaving breaks me out every time
I couldn't make it past my 4th session. The PAIN. Absolutely no difference in my hair growth after all that either. 😢
Just people know, I also had the whole body done and it’s not painful at first, but the last few sessions are extremely painful. I actually developed a hypersensitivity to the laser and had to quit (lost the money I paid for the last few appointments, and it is really expensive!)
