Hi @@GOTGames was so Hyped ,I bouth World's Premiere Event in Dezember 2023( + train Tickets and Motel Room ), I Read through all Manhwa's/Webtoon Chapter (179+21 Bonus Chapter Side Story) ( week To Week) Base is a Web Roman from Autor Chugong: with Name only I Level Up!
For your questions (non-spoilery): As for equipment and why some wear them while others do not: As the chairman for the hunter association in Korea said: They can get magic gems, etc. in the dungeons and they can make equipment out of said gems, both weapons and clothing/armor. Or they can just sell them for money. This equipment is pretty expensive and basically anyone under B-class can't afford it unless they have money from before, or has a different job on the side which makes them hella money. As for your question about the raid, at the island, at the start of the episode: What you just witnessed was a dungeon break. This happens if you do not clear a dungeon in the required amount of time. This will result in the monsters inside said dungeon, will break out and start attacking whatever is in the real world. So it's important to clear a dungeon, whatever level it is, so society can keep on going. Not everyone in this world is awakened, and as you've seen, there's lots of lower-leveled awakeners/hunters who can't take on monsters of higher levels.
Yeah. It's really good enough. I saw some people complaining about the graphic and arts being not similar to manhwa. But how can u say that. Manhwa is literally drawing while anime is animation. It takes a lot to make it 100% similar to manhwa. These ungrateful peoples truly are ***. Especially lately most of the adaptation I am waiting for always turned out to be the worst animation they can make. This one is really good and awesome. 23:01 Yes, portals do work both ways. Thats what they call dungeon breaks as they called them in the episode. If left uncleared, a dungeon break happens and the monsters will pass through the portal. So its important to clear them, even the e-rank ones so they dont cause trouble
I read the Web Novel, the Light Novel, and the Manwha and I have to say that this is the most faithful adaptation so far. I hope it stays that way, and knowing the community I'm sure this will be Anime of the Year.
ngl, with how many extra unrelated scenes such as the raid 3 years ago being the opening and introducing characters we wont see episodes or even seasons later, i can see people who havent read the web novel/ manhwa to be very confused
@@bzchnt3143 Trust me my dude it will be trash. My guts never go in vain. Compared to manhwa. And what about the cringy scream of that girl i liked her in manhwa.
@@OPM07why so negetive bruv.....Its just the 1st ep and u saying it like u know the future bud... yes one cannot match Manhwas art cuz in anime u have to move the fckin frames..... And in that case in the 1st ep they did a great smooth job in animation. Atleast try to appreciate that
@@bzchnt3143 That's true, but it sets up for an "Aha" moment later down the line for the anime only peeps, while also acting as hype fuel for those coming from the manwha or novels.
I've read the manhwa, it was my first ever action manhwa and i was blown away by it, so i put the manhwa on a high pedestal... So my stance on the anime adaptation is along the lines of "wow this was good, but I'm still sceptical about how it'll continue, so I'm just waiting"
Yea same. The manhwa is peak asf but im a bit skeptical of how the anime gonna turn out at the end. But so far if they keep the pacing as the first ep, i think we don’t have to worry. And at least i don’t see it suffers the same shit as tower of god, nobless or god of highschool
My stance is "Hmm, this was average and it'll probably disappoint people, but it's still possible it could do well, so I'm just waiting". I'm especially worried about all the people going into this expecting some amazing plot with great world building and character development, since Solo Leveling has none. Many people who are getting into it because of the hype aren't too familiar with pure power fantasy, so it may disappoint them. Edit: It seems some people have begun calling it "Progression Fantasy". Power Fantasy is slightly different, since Power Fantasies tend to focus more on good narrative whereas Progression Fantasy is more about the mc becoming strong.
I've read the manhwa, and i didnt keep my expectations too high so I wouldn't get disappointed Let's just say it blew my expectations. The animation is amazing, the soundtracks are great, the art is really good too. The pacing was good and they even added extra scenes that weren't in the Manhwa. I can already tell this is gonna be great
If i recall the armor they are wearing are enchanted and are quite expensive so most "hunters" cant afford to buy them and instead get themselves better weapons
10:57 YES, the outfits does help ! Since they're magic items, crafted by forger who have magical power !! They posses magical, so they're the only things that work with the beasts (You can crafted bullet with magical material too, but since they'll broke your gun after fired one bullet, it just better to use the medieval weapons) ! Their style look like medieval clothing is because it's would look way more cooler and it's also what people wanted to looked like. Just the style that's peoples wanted to be ! The ones who didn't have it it's because they're short in income, and can't buy one !
Letsssssss GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!! . I freakin loved the first episode . It was fireee 🔥🔥🔥🔥 . They did as much justice as they could do to the manhwa . Now they just need to maintain this and also give the important/fight scenes the extra crazy animation and i will be satisfied . Man , Sung Jin- woo is gonna go on a rooooolllll !!!!!!!
11:20 the reason why theyre wearing regular clothes is because they cant afford armor. Higher rank hunters or rich people could, and you will see it later on.
22:48 "Wait. What was the beginning of this episode, then? I just realized. They go through the portals to fight creatures. Do the creatures come back out and f___ them over? Because ... Does the portal work both ways?" I'll probably be established in a later episode, so ... SPOILER? ... When they first appear, the portals only allow awakened humans (hunters) to pass through them, either way, but after about a week the magical beasts within the dungeons are able to pass through the barrier. This is called a "Dungeon Break", and average people live in fear of this happening as it's typically a death sentence unless you get rescued by a Hunter.
The genre of Solo Leveling is essentially like the power fantasy shorts form content of cartoons sort of like the Isekai genre. Recently, more and more Korean cartoons called Manhwas of this type have been showing up. Their primary focus is almost always about the protagonist being super special and growing in power really rapidly in a manner that is is satisfying to see. Things like interesting world building, character development and good plots are thrown out the window in these kinds of content. It's all about the protagonist being super op. But personally, I think they have their own charm. They're really fun if you just shut off your brain and binge read, just like shorts form content like tik tok, youtube shorts, etc. Solo Leveling in particular was just one of the first few that really blew up this genre which is why it's so popular. Many people who read from this genre now have started from Solo Leveling and at first, it felt unique and original. But now that we've read so many, many of us agree this isn't quite special or much better than the rest. I think this genre will continue to grow and many more manhwas of this sort of genre will be adapted. Some people won't like it and some will. I personally enjoy it though, and I am looking forward to more being adapted. One of them called 'A Returner's Magic Should Be Special' is being adapted now for example. Edit: I just found out, people have begun to call the genre 'Progression Fantasy'. It is slightly different from Power Fantasy, as Power Fantasies generally focus more on making good narrative whereas Progression Fantasies are mostly about the protagonist growing stronger.
this is a hanguk aeni which is Korean anime which this was made based on a korean manga also known as Manhwa which most Manhwa unlike manga are colored which is cool it makes it easier to read and understand what is going on.
The Worldbuilding has some really interesting details. The reason some Hunters look normal and the "Flashback" hunters looked like fantasy RPG-styled characters, is because gear and weapons are crazy expensive. The group you see with SJW (Sung Jin Woo) are all ERanks and D-Ranks (there might have been a couple CRanks too, But E & D Rank Hunters are typically too poor to afford anything beyond a real basic weapon. C Ranks typically are still pretty poor, but they can make a bit more money so they can afford to get another piece of gear beyond their weapon, like shoulder pads or gauntlets or a helmet or something. B & A Rank hunters are the ones who are making really good money, and would probably be considered slightly rich with how much money they make, if their work expenses weren't also nearly as big, but they make enough to afford the more fancy gear, and enough to be fully equipped. S Ranks are pretty filthy rich and typically look a little more flashy than even the A Ranks, but not by much. Additionally, B & A Ranks are typically scouted to join "Guilds" which are like Private companies, and sometimes it seem like some C-Ranks get scouted too, if they are seen as strong enough. But lesser C - Ranks and below are left alone, making them like "Free Agents" and they only get access to the low rank Gates that are too weak to be worth the time of Guilds. The "Hunter's Association" is almost like a guild, but a Government sponsored one, instead of private. They "own" all the gates and sell the rights to the Guilds. Anything the Guilds don't want (low rank gates) the Association then lets all the low-rank hunters run, like government contractors. So you can work for the government, and make crap pay, or work the "Private Sector" and make bank, basically.
I've read the manhwa before, and this first episode did it for me, it did live up to the hype. The island scene from the beginning where the S-ranks are shown in their youth is the best foreshadowing this anime could have done, since you only learn about that island later. Many scenes were perfectly made so that you could understand the ranking system, the dilemmas of dungeon-breaks, the Hunter Association examination and recruitment process, some major players appear in advance, etc. It summarizes everything well in parallel to the main story happening. 10/10
@@ShartzAce11 I don't understand. Is there a mysterious, obscure and hidden japanized of the anime? I've watched two different versions of episode 1 and 2, both of which were at least using korean names. (No location data given yet) Byung-Gu, Eunseok, Yoonho, Jin Woo Cha Hae-In. All korean names that were said in THIS VIDEO.
Truh be told they did it really good. From the flash back to the JeJu Island in Korea showing most S rank hunters of Korea. To how it set up the premise to introducing us to the hunter system and to the dungeon. I was really suprised when i saw the statues move and it was not precolored like in some other shows we can see which parts will move in advance. I read the LN and the Manhwa. So for now im really glad the show is coming together like it is currently. Well the one thing that they could have polished was a bit the narration but overall it is like a 9.5/10. Yes in that world the moment you are an ability user your ability rank just stays. You can develop the application of the ability, but you can't develop the overall firepower, strength. So yea you can be more proficient but you just can't make the fire ball strength of 100 make 101 ever. But you can like divide it into 4x25 and so on. Well that is the aplication. Currently i am hyped for the next episode cause it is one of the first phew turning points. Let's goo ! ! !
I love the fact you're kinda new to anime and that you genuinely appreciate it. I'm about 2 years into anime now and I keep trying to get my friends into because I know they'd love it. Big up the Brits!
yes the portal works both ways if the portal isn't cleared in a stipulated time period it breaks open and the monsters inside come to earth that's the plot more to come
The people in normal clothes are usually low-ranked hunters. Buying equipment like armor isn't really lucrative because they can only afford low-ranked equipment from what they earn from dungeons, and these equipment don't usually last long. So low-ranked hunters just opt to have necessary weapons and forgo armor and stuff.
System/Hunter genre Manwhas are not very known in the anime (only) community. Solo Leveling is just a pioneer of it. I hope we also got anime adaptations of some really good Murim and Regression genre Manwhas.
Saw a lot of people already judging after the first episode when even the most crazy staff with the statues didnt even started yet (not gonna lie, I was waiting for the famouse statue jumscare that scared the sh*t out of me, when I was reading manhwa for the first time on my phone at 3 am XD, but I guess they saved it for the next episode) Regarding the first episode, they did a damn good introduction. If I recall correctly the manhwa didnt really explain that much during first chapters, it just went into the plot and was doing explaining on the go. But here they inserted the brief introductions of major characters, explained in more details about stones (I dont remember the energy source part been mentioned in the manhwa, to be honest), and I think those who didnt read the manhwa would be more interested in continueing watching after all these bits and pieces of info we were given, as if the anime was just simply following the original. If they continue to doing like they did in the first episode, it will be a really good anime. They also didnt really show yet the action part that much. I hope the first season will reach the ork dungeon ark (I dont remember how far it is in the story), I really want to see a massive shadow army.
If they had made a 2-episode special at launch, I think it would have raised the hype a lot higher. Anyone who read it knows where they should have ended the episode 😂😂
normal clothes because they have not enough budget. while other who wear wizard clothes does embued a protection or boost depends on the quality of the item.
I started reading manga, (manhwa and manhua, Korean and Chinese mangas), because of Solo Leveling. Until recently I only watched anime, but when it was announced that there would be an adaptation of Solo Leveling, there was a lot of hype and I was curious as to why and I read it and I understood why the hype was about. Today I'm addicted to manga, and I read more than I watch anime. My favorite manga for now is "the omniscient reader's point of view", this should urgently be adapted into an anime.
The artstyle is surprisingly good, we got Hiroyuki Sawano soundtrack - and it looks like they are going to honour the manwha. Can't wait to see where it goes.
For your question about why they only using normal clothes, its either they're only entering low level dungeon (E rank dungeon iirc), or maybe they cannot buy good equipment since its expensive, or maybe they just to confident with their skills
10:54 "So, my one question I have, and I'm looking at it on my screen right now: why are some of the people literally dressed in wizard outfits and knight outfits and swords, and just literally look like they've been taken out of 'Lord of the Rings', and some other people are literally wearing normal clothes?" 14:03 "OH! Maybe I should just shut the f___ up and watch." Going a little deeper into the lore - some materials and designs channel magical energies better than others, and Mage Hunters specializing in making magical weapons and armors are constantly innovating, though they are sometimes hampered by the limitations of the materials on hand.
The gates work both ways. The difference is that monsters can't move through them for some time. The opening scene is an example of an S rank gate not being cleared resulting in monsters conquering Jeju island and hunters tring to reclaim it.
By "Conventional weapons" they mean "Weapons that don't have magic power", so the only weapons that can hurt the monsters are weapons that posses magic. That also applies to armor, but since magic armors are too expensive, low-rank hunters aren't able to afford them and so they just use their regular clothes lol Also 22:49 : They will explain it in the future, but basically, if the portal is left alone for a week, it opens up and the creatures come out, that's what they call a "Dungeon Break"
It's really great seeing the bros in the first scenes (Eunseok, Yoonho, and Byung-Gyu), during the 3rd Jeju Island Raid, Byung-Gyu especially, as we don't get much time with him later on. Establishing Jin-Ho and Song-Yi early on is also a wish come true for me. My only nit-pick is that I think Jin-Chul's voice actor isn't going as deep as I think he should: he's described as having a surprisingly deep voice in the Light Novel.
The subtitles for when I watched it yesterday said, "If there's one lesson: Be scared." and I feel like that hit WAY harder than "be cautious." I'm going into this series completely blind, but the first episode was pretty danged good, so I'm definitely looking forward to what comes next!
I'm one of those people who read the entire Manhwa about a year ago and loved it, and I was actually worried about the anime for various reasons, but so far so good. It's sticking to the Manhwa frame by frame so far. So no complaints from me yet. I'm actually looking forward to the next episode. I can safely say we're in for a hell of a ride with the next episode lol
1. People not wearing armor simply could not afford it. 2. From my understanding, the most logical option is that conventional weapons refers to anything made with earth-metals. Monsters probably have mana in some form or another, and to kill them you either need a normal weapon imbued with mana, or a weapon made from other-world monsters or materials found in gates, that already have mana in varying degrees. Thus, making bullets out of said material would be akin to having golden bullets. Another possibility is that there are rules imposed on us from some higher being, that prevents the use of normal weapons. But that's pretty dumb imo.
Depends on what the clothes are made from, many who can afford it wear clothes made from the invading monster's skin, hide etc. etc. as it provides them resistance to fire, cold, regular old rpg stuff.
The people fighting against the ants were all B rank and higher. They can afford all the good gear that increases power etc. But the people with Jinwoo are mostly E and D with one C rank (the leader) and one B in the healer. They earn way less money and can mostly afford a decent weapon for their rank and not much armour if any.
I am very tempted to explain a couple of basic things about the gates, but, to some people, that could be seen as spoilers, so I'll let you discover them on your own. I will say that most of your questions will be answered as the story progresses. I have read most of the manghwa and really enjoyed it. The first episode of the anime follows the story-line of the manhwa pretty accurately. I don't really like the opening scene, though. There's nothing actually wrong with the scene, but it's unnecessary to me and just causes a lot of confusion for people who have never read the manhwa. Other than that, I loved it.
You have no idea how waited/wanted this one is. Yes, there are a lo of hype (me included) and with reason. I love Sung Jinwoo, he is not your classic MC. He's not a genius, he doesnt have a "destiny from birth", romance it's secundary (if nearly null so no OP with harem here), he has a real reason to do what he does... I just love him, even right now as his lowest. Not only it is a great and very enjoyable fantasy/battle story, one of the most famous light novels/manhwa, but if this one succeds, it can open the gate to others like Omniscent reader or Lout of the count family (I would die the day one of these two gets anounced)

The differemce with Ranking system was once you are awakened with that Rank you'll stuck with it. You could master your skill but you'll stay on your Rank which is fcked up world to be live on.
Buckle up, Luke, because this one is gonna be wild!!! I have read the manhwa to completion, and it's so good; based on the clean animation and the way the story has been presented so far, I think this one will be a banger. It'll take a lot to mess this up. We have a few naysayers in the comments, but I think we're going to get pretty far into the story this season if the introduction and trailers can be trusted. I am excited to see the future of this series, that's for sure. As always, wonderful work! I hope you enjoy this journey as much as I did. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I'm surprised they are using the OG Korean names and everything, the rumors were saying they were going to change everything to japonese because of "that arc" 😂
6:50 yeah.. some get promoted if they are proficient enough given that you are already close to the next rank but in most cases their ranks never change no matter the effort
I started by reading it on a manga website, when i heard it was being made as an anime i had to see if they did it justice (they have ❤) and as i get in some extra money I'm slowly buying the books ❤
Well, the build-up of the story as well as the development of the character is well-written. Not rush, not too slow. That's what makes it so great despite having a common plot when it comes to dungeons/power systems.
I personally read the manhwa, it was my first manhwa that's from the type where the main character is weak and then he starts getting stronger. As much, as I want to say that it's the best, it's not but the way it's made is amazing - you can't stop reading with all the cliffhangers, it just sucks you in. It's extremely addicting. I didn't finish it because when I read it still hadn't finished releasing but after that I decised that I don't want to know how it finishes 😂😂. I think that the anime is great, although this first episode was kind of slow for a manhwa/webtoon anime adaptation, I hope that they make the pase faster so that the anime can go further in the story.
armor and weapons are drops from dungeons which are imbude with magic or bonus stats, so its quite expensive..something low tier hunters dont have enough money to buy, like ridiculous pricy.....the 2 things that can help you get good gear is either you are a super rich dude or tier c hunter or higher
My reaction to a room full of statues was: "If you do not expect the statues are going to move, you are an idiot. And for your own safety, you shouldn't be going into dungeons."
11:05 Basically will be explained but imagine starting a new video game...you know how characters are like basically naked with nothing on starting the game? Kind of like that. You have to work your way to make money to buy gear or beat monsters for gear.
Basicly like a rpg game, you use any equip you got unic trait. But in the first footage on the island where evryone use fully arrmor because they high ranker hunter and they have a money, cause the arrmor very expensiv and sungjinwo party is a low ranker mostly they D-rank on D-rank dungeon
Seriously? Faithful? If its faithful, why they change the name and its storyline. Its all based on korea. Would you say faithful just becauss it has anti-japan vibes?
@@ShartzAce11 Are you drunk or something? The original takes place in korea and uses korean names. The light novel, as well as the og Manhwa. The anime ALSO takes place in korea and uses korean names. It's a korean story, by a korean author that plays in korea. Edit: I take back the drunk part. After searching for it with a VPN set to japan, it seems like there actually IS a japanized version. That's so god damn pathetic. They should be ashamed of their industry for shit like this. And everyone that is actually for this should be ashamed of themselves.
11:10 they are wearing it cuz some of them can afford artifacts and the lower ranked cant thats pretty much the reason and the reason they use swords instead of gun is cuz the swords have magic in them which enables them to hurt the monsters
It's slow in the beginning for sure but this is as good as power fantasy can get. He has to work for it and isn't given all his power. Once he levels up a bit you will come to love it just as much as everyone else haha
With this level of animation. My expectation is so high with this one. And the 1st episode is so well done. Rushed but so good. Can't wait for the next episode
I assume they will cover it more specifically at some point but yeah, when a portal opens up somewhere it needs to be found and evaluated quickly. Because if the boss monster in the dungeon isn't killed and the portal closed within 7 days they have what is called a dungeon break. That's where the monster from inside the dungeon are able to leave through the portal into our world. And since even the weakest monsters can't be harmed by normal people when that happens it's a disaster. Lot's of people die. So it's a big deals for people to find any portals that open so they can get closed ASAP.
The portals work both ways, but when the portal first appears, the monsters cant get thru it, so humans have a chance to go clear the dungeon before the monsters can go thru ghe portal, if the dungeon is not cleared the monsters can go thru it and get to the human world, at the beginning of the episode, they showed what they call The Jeju Island Incident, so there was a portal in Jeju Island that was not cleared and the ants went rampant there
I got OBSESSED with the manwha back when there was only about 50 chapters, really happy to see some of my favourite mangas and manwhas of the last few years getting solid adaptations. Hell, even the crappy isekai I like for no good reason has a season 1 running this season :D
There are robes and armor that are imbued with magic for certain effects. But they're expensive and most hunters can't afford it unless they join a major guild.
2nd episode is gonna be way way better. Also I just checked the manwha and the anime shows way more gore than it. The first guy in the boss room only gets his head cut off but you can't really see anything, only a little blood and a slumped body without a head.
I heard they're about to make something interesting about the solo leveling or related to it. MC's son(that we've already seen), and then there is His mysterious Father (The White Monarch) that went missing. The shadows(fans) want to see the white monarch's side of the story before.

23:01 Yes, portals do work both ways. Thats what they call dungeon breaks as they called them in the episode. If left uncleared, a dungeon break happens and the monsters will pass through the portal. So its important to clear them, even the e-rank ones so they dont cause trouble
Ah okay! So that's why they have no real choice but to clear them 🤔
I read the Web Novel, the Light Novel, and the Manwha and I have to say that this is the most faithful adaptation so far.

I've read the manhwa, it was my first ever action manhwa and i was blown away by it, so i put the manhwa on a high pedestal... So my stance on the anime adaptation is along the lines of "wow this was good, but I'm still sceptical about how it'll continue, so I'm just waiting"
And only one as well, I think
I've read the manhwa, and i didnt keep my expectations too high so I wouldn't get disappointed
Let's just say it blew my expectations.

Ah okay! Thank you
10:57 YES, the outfits does help !
I’ve just started reading Solo Leveling (the light novel) and the first chapter got me hooked. ‘Twas a great Christmas present
I just love it when a Korean manga is adapted into an anime, I know you like Kpop and anime as well Luke🫰🏼💜
Absolutely! And with TXT and Sawano on the theme too! Very excited!
Because ... Does the portal work both ways?"
I'll probably be established in a later episode, so ... SPOILER?
3:20 yes because that's Itadori Yuji voice
I've read the manhwa before, and this first episode did it for me, it did live up to the hype. The island scene from the beginning where the S-ranks are shown in their youth is the best foreshadowing this anime could have done, since you only learn about that island later. Many scenes were perfectly made so that you could understand the ranking system, the dilemmas of dungeon-breaks, the Hunter Association examination and recruitment process, some major players appear in advance, etc. It summarizes everything well in parallel to the main story happening. 10/10
If only they make it as original, but japanese pride wasnt letting them fall, as the storyline says, that japan is the weaker clan.

10:52 The fantasy-like clothes are accessories made for battle, easy mobility and defense. +10 strength or something 🤔
It tripped me up when the president said "be cautious" instead of "be afraid" and I'm like ah they got the translation wrong again
Ik right, the other translation hits so much harder in every scene, even the dub is better
yes the portal works both ways if the portal isn't cleared in a stipulated time period it breaks open and the monsters inside come to earth that's the plot more to come
13:05 that's why you shouldn't take out such items from the wound right away
The people in normal clothes are usually low-ranked hunters. Buying equipment like armor isn't really lucrative because they can only afford low-ranked equipment from what they earn from dungeons, and these equipment don't usually last long. So low-ranked hunters just opt to have necessary weapons and forgo armor and stuff.
System/Hunter genre Manwhas are not very known in the anime (only) community. Solo Leveling is just a pioneer of it. I hope we also got anime adaptations of some really good Murim and Regression genre Manwhas.
You're going to be speechless when mc say "ARISE"
Saw a lot of people already judging after the first episode when even the most crazy staff with the statues didnt even started yet (not gonna lie, I was waiting for the famouse statue jumscare that scared the sh*t out of me, when I was reading manhwa for the first time on my phone at 3 am XD, but I guess they saved it for the next episode)
Regarding the first episode, they did a damn good introduction.
That smile 😊😊😊
normal clothes because they have not enough budget. while other who wear wizard clothes does embued a protection or boost depends on the quality of the item.
10:54 "So, my one question I have, and I'm looking at it on my screen right now: why are some of the people literally dressed in wizard outfits and knight outfits and swords, and just literally look like they've been taken out of 'Lord of the Rings', and some other people are literally wearing normal clothes?"
14:03 "OH! Maybe I should just shut the f___ up and watch."
Going a little deeper into the lore - some materials and designs channel magical energies better than others, and Mage Hunters specializing in making magical weapons and armors are constantly innovating, though they are sometimes hampered by the limitations of the materials on hand.
The gates work both ways. The difference is that monsters can't move through them for some time. The opening scene is an example of an S rank gate not being cleared resulting in monsters conquering Jeju island and hunters tring to reclaim it.
first statue that killed the hunter looks like Sauron a bit :D
23:25 Bro really called it.
26:20 Bro called it again.
I ve read the solo leveling manwha and I can say that they really did a great first episode , job well done ! Very satisfying first episode for me
By "Conventional weapons" they mean "Weapons that don't have magic power", so the only weapons that can hurt the monsters are weapons that posses magic. That also applies to armor, but since magic armors are too expensive, low-rank hunters aren't able to afford them and so they just use their regular clothes lol
Also 22:49 : They will explain it in the future, but basically, if the portal is left alone for a week, it opens up and the creatures come out, that's what they call a "Dungeon Break"
24:56 something along the lines of those don't follow the commandments, the writings Mr. Song was reading, can't leave.
"those statues are so coming alve" bro called it
It's really great seeing the bros in the first scenes (Eunseok, Yoonho, and Byung-Gyu), during the 3rd Jeju Island Raid, Byung-Gyu especially, as we don't get much time with him later on.
Establishing Jin-Ho and Song-Yi early on is also a wish come true for me.
My only nit-pick is that I think Jin-Chul's voice actor isn't going as deep as I think he should: he's described as having a surprisingly deep voice in the Light Novel.
The subtitles for when I watched it yesterday said, "If there's one lesson: Be scared." and I feel like that hit WAY harder than "be cautious."
I'm going into this series completely blind, but the first episode was pretty danged good, so I'm definitely looking forward to what comes next!
23:00 they explain that later in the series that was a flashback that sets up a future arc.
Following this series since the first chapter of the webcomic, I feel nostalgic
The voice actor at the beginning is the same one who does the voice for Itadori in JJK
3:25 Yep, it's Itadori's va

Buckle up, Luke, because this one is gonna be wild!!! I have read the manhwa to completion, and it's so good; based on the clean animation and the way the story has been presented so far, I think this one will be a banger. It'll take a lot to mess this up.
We have a few naysayers in the comments, but I think we're going to get pretty far into the story this season if the introduction and trailers can be trusted. I am excited to see the future of this series, that's for sure.

I started by reading it on a manga website, when i heard it was being made as an anime i had to see if they did it justice (they have ❤) and as i get in some extra money I'm slowly buying the books ❤
Its gonna be my 3rd time now watching this masterpiece of a series 🔥
How do you just not think of running when you see a huge ahh menacing door in front of you😭
Well, the build-up of the story as well as the development of the character is well-written. Not rush, not too slow. That's what makes it so great despite having a common plot when it comes to dungeons/power systems.
If 'Arise' doesn't hit like a bankai ill cry
It was most of our first reads of manhwa. But now we've come to know this isn't very special after reading dozens more.
armor and weapons are drops from dungeons which are imbude with magic or bonus stats, so its quite expensive..something low tier hunters dont have enough money to buy, like ridiculous pricy.....the 2 things that can help you get good gear is either you are a super rich dude or tier c hunter or higher
Litrally binged the manwa (Korean manga) over Christmas. Loved it. So far so good on the anime! Living up!
This anime looks incredibly faithful to the Manwha. Even the cut aways or flash backs are at the same points.
Seriously? Faithful? If its faithful, why they change the name and its storyline. Its all based on korea. Would you say faithful just becauss it has anti-japan vibes?
@@ShartzAce11 No names or storylines have been changed in the one I watched, mate. (so far.)
@@cretaceouscrusader661 that because the anime is based on japan, not korea.

11:10 they are wearing it cuz some of them can afford artifacts and the lower ranked cant thats pretty much the reason and the reason they use swords instead of gun is cuz the swords have magic in them which enables them to hurt the monsters
3:24 I think Yuji Itadori's VA (JJK)

The portals work both ways, but when the portal first appears, the monsters cant get thru it, so humans have a chance to go clear the dungeon before the monsters can go thru ghe portal, if the dungeon is not cleared the monsters can go thru it and get to the human world, at the beginning of the episode, they showed what they call The Jeju Island Incident, so there was a portal in Jeju Island that was not cleared and the ants went rampant there
Saw the First episode come out and didnt know about it and was so hyped to the point where i re-read the whole manwha again
3:32 yea that's yuji itadori's voice actor
I got OBSESSED with the manwha back when there was only about 50 chapters, really happy to see some of my favourite mangas and manwhas of the last few years getting solid adaptations. Hell, even the crappy isekai I like for no good reason has a season 1 running this season :D
The VA for the Healer is the same VA for Yuji from JJk
There are robes and armor that are imbued with magic for certain effects. But they're expensive and most hunters can't afford it unless they join a major guild.

2nd episode is gonna be way way better. Also I just checked the manwha and the anime shows way more gore than it. The first guy in the boss room only gets his head cut off but you can't really see anything, only a little blood and a slumped body without a head.
This and Dungeon Meshi are what I've been waiting for all week 🤩
I heard they're about to make something interesting about the solo leveling or related to it. MC's son(that we've already seen), and then there is His mysterious Father (The White Monarch) that went missing. The shadows(fans) want to see the white monarch's side of the story before.
