3:28-4:08 Fun fact about the hunter being interviewed: he mentioned that he used to be a firefighter. That is a detail about him we don’t learn in the webnovel or the webcomic until the epilogue chapters, the story after the main story. This is part of what people are talking about when they say details from the webnovels are being included. Longtime fans of Solo Leveling like me are grinning with, “wow, they included that info this early? Cool! And a great way to do it too!”
Another thing I liked was when they first get attacked in the dungeon and Jin woo says there insect types the other guys get worried that it’s going to be ants which is a nice detail
Bro A1 PICTURES are not playing around with this adaptation, they legit adapting this page for page, and content from the NOVELS as well. I can't believe the adaptation is this good so far, that's a ridiculous amount of passion😂😂
When I was first read the manwha, I was also surprised by how humble and polite Jinho is, especially since he is actually from an extremely rich family. Characters like him are usually stuck-up and snobbish, but the fact he went out of his way to defend Jinwoo and call out the team for cutting him out the reward cut, especially when the team all outrank and can easily kill him, AND on top of that, when he knows he is no match against the boss spider, he still tries to put himself before Jinwoo and try to protect them both. He truly has a heart of gold.
Honestly I wish the manhwa didn't cut so much of his character out compared to the web novel, you get a much deeper appreciation of Jinho in that (mainly to do with his family circumstances and the relationship between them etc).
10:40 a good reminder is that whenever Jinwoo is able to get a good guess or estimate of an enemy/hunter's level/aura outside of any system generated dungeons/enemies (like the instance dungeon with the snake and wolves and goblins where he can read their threat levels and names), it's because of his Perception skill
Sung Drip Woo 🤭 Always funny how Luke gets his answer one second after the question🤣 The best running gag. Best little bro Jinho. You actually saw him in the first episode. Im currently reading the Manwha for a second time and I have hard time to stop after a chapter. 😅

this anime is dangerously addictive! one of the few animes i just CANT WAIT for the next episode, makes me want to pick up the manhwa just to keep going!
The manhwa is great I'd recommended it as the art for it is fantastic and I personally felt it did a pretty decent amount of the build up + hype moments better but that might be my bias as I see the scenes originally being built around that manhwa format to a point where they might not work as well in other mediums

[confused look] Baek Yoonho was last seen in the flashback, during episode 3, discovering Jin-Woo in the D-rank dungeon, and previously part of the S-rank bro-squad in the 3 years ago prolog. He's the president of the White Tiger Guild.

10:40 "Has he always been able to see that by looking at people?" No. It was explained in the light novel that the increased PER stat allows Jin-Woo to gage that four of the six have higher mana than the other two - a strike squad to tackle a C-rank dungeon must have at least 8 people, half of whom must be C-rank or higher, so he's assuming that the four with higher mana are C-rank and the other two are D-rank. 22:31 "Randomly bringing up his brother makes me immediately think that his brother is the character we've been introduced to, who is that S-[rank] guy who is randomly punching rocks ..." No. Baek Yoonho (the red-haired guild master of the White Tiger guild) isn't Hwang Dongsuk's brother, Dongsoo.

rudest cliff hanger so far lol. But at least I know the next episode will bang. A1 pictures been following a 1, 2 formula. The first one being story progression/exposition then the next one being a high octane action packed episode.
24:55 [The look of doubt] "They're not nice ..." In the light novel, dungeon bosses can't leave the boss chamber until an hour after the dungeon break occurs - they could have all left and waited safely, but Jinho didn't know that, and Jinwoo was actually counting on the betrayal. 28:27 "Did bro really just do a f---ing Gojo?" At level 15 Jinwoo took out a strong E-rank boss, and at level 17 he took out a weak D-rank boss, which means he has to be at least a low B-rank. It's possible that he could take on a C-rank boss, but he won't have the bonus from the [Wolf Assassin] title, as insects don't count as Animal-types in this setting. We can only hope he gets the glow!
It would probably be pretty difficult to hide him growing stronger after the rank evaluation. Since reawakenings are so rare, everyone would pay close attention to him. So it would only be a matter of time before someone noticed he was still getting stronger. I think Jinwoo's plan to level up in secret until he was powerful enough to protect himself and his family was a smart move
It's amazing how effective this adaptation has been at answering questions exactly when it needs to answer them. They've really been nailing the beat to beat in this show.
5:50 The way you keep asking questions and the anime just answers them right away is so funny 😂🤣 Nice vid as always, the next one is gonna be gooood! 🦎🦎🦎
If they money numbers seem crazy it's because the show is set in Korea and their currency "Won" is 1,000 = $1 equivalence (not actual conversion). So that ₩3,000,000 sword from last episode is actually $3,000 and the ₩900,000,000,000 is $900,000,000.
to answer a couple of your questions (that weren't immediately answered in episode): The light novel specifies that he can better sense the levels and presence of others now due to his increased perception. This is also another reason he knew where the insects would come from. As far as I know, the little bugs are essentially spider larvae. The light novel also talks about how insect dungeons are the worst because all of them swarm you at once. This is why they are feared even by very experienced hunters and if you have a party.
Jinwoo was level 15 before fighting the Snake boss last episode and gained 3 levels by defeating it, and I believe there has been 4 days since that fight by the stat points he's collected. And as many people have said the actual changes to his stature have been happening by the system in basically two phases, one from his daily training + the Stat points given and the second by his leveling up. In the beginning Jinwoo i believe is stated to be about 5' 10" before he gains the power of the system. By the end of his Leveling within the system he stands about 6'0"-6'1", and according to some comments from the Author Jinwoo's Height increase about 1mm every time he levels up.
GOT asks a question and then clicks play again Instant answer of the thing that was asked.... damn, I guess A1 really knows what they're doing with the writing here, huh?
about your question if he can tell their levels before the answer is no its related to his new heightened perception he can feel the level of their mana
With episode 5 we have covered 21 chapters + some light novel content. What you're refereing to takes place in chapter 40-45 ish i think. So episode 12 seems to end season 1 with finishing his job change quest. Edit: Also how did the OP make his comment 35 minutes ago and first reply comment came out 54 minutes ago? You got an answer before you asked the question?
I started with the manhwa, got caught up. Found out there was a webnovel, read that, finished it, loved it. I never got around to finishing the manhwa, even though the art is so amazing. I actually can't explain why I kept reading this, it is way more violent than I can usually handle, but somehow I got hooked.
At 10:41 that is his Perception Stat in work. Due to Perception he can see a person's "Rank" based off the Aura they give off. At this point I think the only ones that don't give off a large visual aura to him are S Ranks and High A Ranks, but B Ranks and below he can see them as technically he at around a high to Mid Rank C hunter at this point.
Hi Luke, I think the strategy of the bad guys goes like this: 1. Don't hire a healer on purpose 2. Lure and hire random weak/inexperienced hunters with an attractive pay with the reason of "meeting the 8 party member quota for a C rank dungeon" since they are 6 and need 2 more. 3. Find the boss room 4. Leave the 2 weak guys trapped in the boss room (which is filled by loot) by blocking the entrance in hope that the 2 weak guys flee in some random direction and lure the boss away from its room 5. Enter the room and mine the crystals with no worries, because the boss is gone and carry it outside 6. Go beat the boss 7. Lie and say they died in the dungeon and couldnt heal them Note: The reason why a strategy like this is needed is because if you just beat the boss first, a timer will start and the dungeon will disappears after an hour, which is barely any time to properly mine the crystals and carry them outside.
I don't know if anyone told you this yet or if you noticed it but whenever Sung fights an opponent and he thinks it's strong (like he did in the end) he just compares it to the horror he passed and what he is going through right now feels like nothing compared to it so that's why he said he takes it all back when he got memories of it.
The money (its origin source is korean) is in KRW (korean won). Approximately 1300 won = 1$ USD. So jinwoo getting paid 2 million = about $1500 USD as an example
I love how the anime makes it less clear about this group intentions. I remember that when Jinwoo mentions the lack of hesler everyonr there is with red eyes and shadows casted on them "They are way too violent"
I wish @G.O.TGames start watching Dangers in my Heart too.....Cuz this is like everyone's Saturday eve since Jan haha......Watching Solo Leveling first then Go for Damgers in my heart Is just the best Schedule of saturday ever 🥰
yep these cliffhanger remind me a few year back of trying to sleep but after one chapter i wanna read another, the next thing i know it 4am finishing the manhua.
The show is based on a Korean comic book (or whatever pretentious people want to call these things), so basically divide all monetary figures by 1000 to get the rough equivalent in US dollars or UK pounds. So he's being paid about $2K to show up and fill the quota, and the 100 million per person mentioned amounts to about $100K per person.
i cannot wait to see your reactions to the rest of season 1 youre gonna love it so much i know you said youre trying not to ride the hype but i promise you the hype is worth it 1000%
3 questions IMMEDIATELY answered🤣 You're really leveling up! Just for memory aid, the crook leader is named Hwang while the guildmaster is named Baek, so their surnames are different.
wel, in case of a dungeon break when the monsters come out, there can not be a small gate if the monster is big. Aside from that, the gate size is pretty much irelevant. :D
5:52 "am curious to know his current stats (etc etc) Narrator: "a few seconds lay-tuh..........................." hee hee and no, Luke.. keep asking the rhetorical questions.. it amuses us greatly...
6:22 "WTF? Was he level 10 last time?" Jin-Woo was level 17 after defeating the giant snake and got another level for defeating the golem. With 12 ability points, we can assume it's been 4 days since the instance dungeon. 9:21 "He can hide the fact that he's getting stronger." You'll learn why that wouldn't work later, but let's just leave it at: that wouldn't work.
8:18 omg that was soooooooooooooo effing funny... we're down to a SPLIT SECOND before Jin answers Luke now... damn near choked on my coffee that time.. edit-- 13:15 (mad scientist gigglesnorting at Luke) and we're up to 3...
I've read the Light novel and the manhwa. Since this anime has started, I've been trying to figure out where the anime is going to stop. Each anime episode has comprised three to four chapters in the manhwa and I believe four to six chapters in the light novel. Including the side or after story, there are roughly 200 chapters of the manhwa. It looks like if this season is 12 episodes, they should get to around chapters 48-50, and if it's 24 episodes, they'll get around to chapters 96-98 in the manhwa. Considering how A-1 have currently set up the world (introducing some of the ancillary characters in the story i.e.: Cha, Jinho, Songyi, Joonho, Choi, etc.), each set of chapters are really good stopping points for a season one of this series. Honestly, if they go with a 24-episode season, they can complete the main story of Sung Jinwoo in 2 seasons as is. This is what I am hoping will happen. Also, one good thing about this story is it explains everything that reader needs to know, so we aren't left guessing with most things. Great reaction! A-1 are doing an amazing job adapting both the manhwa and the light novel, so I hope they continue and finish the story, kinda like they did with AOT.
Glad you're enjoying Jinho, because dude will continue to be around, and continue to be a bro. Nice guess on dude's brother being S-class. He'll be introduced fairly soon.
20:00 It seems they are intentionally drawing a parallel between this S-rank hunter and Jinwoo. I'm guessing he has also gained access to the "Solo Leveling" system that Jinwoo is using.
Idk but that seems farfetched. After all, the name of the show is Solo Leveling. It wouldn’t make sense for anyone else but the protagonist to be able to do it.
@@Mischievalrous Nah. Jinwoo stumbled onto a rare quest spawn, with specific conditions he happened to meet. If he was the only human to experience those circumstances, THAT would be farfetched. It's not like he's Luke Skywalker or something... I'm sure we'll see more hunters like him, each with uniquely tragic back stories. I'm guessing the "Solo" sinply means they can't party up for grinding or something like that.
Big muscles is a receipt of hard work. Hard work should be admired/praised. Jinwoo is also a legit good guy. I'm just saying, if I was a girl I would rather take my chances with him than let the opportunity slip completely.
man i love this anime , i read and finished the the manhwa year ago so im hype to c it gettinga good adaptation so far i hope thay do keep it that or improve it but one thing i hate the most are the cliffhangers
Has he always been able to see hunter ranks just by looking at people? No. His new Perception stats increased, and he can easily observe people's aura now.
@2:57 "Is this how people ask?" It's not uncommon for women to ask men for their number in South Korea. Although, I have no idea how common it is to ask for it at work (especially by a nurse to their assigned patient.) haha
I’ve never seen a movie, tv series or anime so closely recreating the source material. The art isn’t quite as good as the manhwa, but it’s still good. If you enjoyed the Manhwa there’s nothing to complain about with the anime. Conversely, any new fans of the anime, you’ll love the Manhwa too.
10.000.000 Won is around 7.000€ they leave them behind because 1) the spider eats them and will surely sleep after thar so they can harvest the crystals and 2) they don't have to share or pay them. the pasing in the anime is really good, but in the manga it somehow better because everything 'world-building'-stuff is put between the action scenes, what can't be done in the anime without having some episodes only explaining and some only fighting.
I hope the quality drop was just on this episode, it feels like it was made by third party studios. The frame counts are noticeable including inconsistent and wacky character faces and models. Probably whoever made this episode had difficulty to draw in RediceStudio artstyle. I might nitpicking but it is very noticeable and difficult to ignore compared to previous 4 episodes. I hope next episode would be better cuz I would cry if the fight scenes are glowing slash lines with "shing shing shing" special effects.
They seem to be saving money and time one odd episodes and going above and beyond one the even ones. Quick Won rule of thumb: Divide by 1000 to get an approx. dollar value. eg 2m won is $2k for carrying equipment, 1b won is $1m so over $100k each.
There is no way this isnt your number 1 favorite anime it literally answers all your questions. Actually i think it might be telling you to just shut up and enjoy the episodes lol.
There is no way man... 💀 There's only 5 episodes and they're probably going to cover up to 40-60 so this is by far the weakest season, and ain't no way solo leveling would be considered the best in any way

GOT asks a question and then clicks play again
Instant answer of the thing that was asked....
damn, I guess A1 really knows what they're doing with the writing here, huh?
about your question if he can tell their levels before the answer is no its related to his new heightened perception he can feel the level of their mana
Next episode will be absolute peak we will finally see why he is the top 3 best mc of all time
based on a scene I saw in the opening, unless they cut a bunch of stuff out, I don't see a world where they get to it within 12 episodes.
They are getting to it it’s in chapter 42.
Love the pacing, it has no filler. just straight to real action and straight forward plot.
I started with the manhwa, got caught up. Found out there was a webnovel, read that, finished it, loved it. I never got around to finishing the manhwa, even though the art is so amazing. I actually can't explain why I kept reading this, it is way more violent than I can usually handle, but somehow I got hooked.
I love that the moment you ask a question the show immediately answers it for you. It's very amusing.
Hi Luke, I think the strategy of the bad guys goes like this:
1. Don't hire a healer on purpose
2. Lure and hire random weak/inexperienced hunters with an attractive pay with the reason of "meeting the 8 party member quota for a C rank dungeon" since they are 6 and need 2 more.
3. Find the boss room
4. Leave the 2 weak guys trapped in the boss room (which is filled by loot) by blocking the entrance in hope that the 2 weak guys flee in some random direction and lure the boss away from its room
5. Enter the room and mine the crystals with no worries, because the boss is gone and carry it outside
6. Go beat the boss
7. Lie and say they died in the dungeon and couldnt heal them
Note: The reason why a strategy like this is needed is because if you just beat the boss first, a timer will start and the dungeon will disappears after an hour, which is barely any time to properly mine the crystals and carry them outside.
After more daily quests, Jin-woo is high C-rank at the beginning of this gate.
For all future people watching the Solo Leveling anime: watch the series two episodes at a time :)
The money (its origin source is korean) is in KRW (korean won). Approximately 1300 won = 1$ USD.
So jinwoo getting paid 2 million = about $1500 USD as an example
Quick rule of thumb for currency conversion, take 2 zeroes off the end of any amount and you'll be in the ball park of that amount in Euros.
I love how the anime makes it less clear about this group intentions. I remember that when Jinwoo mentions the lack of hesler everyonr there is with red eyes and shadows casted on them "They are way too violent"
Jinho! Nice to see our boi animated.
Same! I haven't read the manhwa and now I'm watching episodes twice and dying to wait a week
Next episode is gonna be awesome. For many different reasons. This is really making me wanna go read the manhwa again.
The show is based on a Korean comic book (or whatever pretentious people want to call these things), so basically divide all monetary figures by 1000 to get the rough equivalent in US dollars or UK pounds. So he's being paid about $2K to show up and fill the quota, and the 100 million per person mentioned amounts to about $100K per person.
lil bro in golden armour is like the otto suwen of this world
i cannot wait to see your reactions to the rest of season 1 youre gonna love it so much i know you said youre trying not to ride the hype but i promise you the hype is worth it 1000%
3 questions IMMEDIATELY answered🤣 You're really leveling up!
Just for memory aid, the crook leader is named Hwang while the guildmaster is named Baek, so their surnames are different.
Sung Drip Woo with his Best Boi Jinho leezzz gooo
THE FUNNIEST REACTION OMG THE ANIME KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT LMAOO
wel, in case of a dungeon break when the monsters come out, there can not be a small gate if the monster is big. Aside from that, the gate size is pretty much irelevant. :D
13:17 PREWATCHED 💀
Just kidding you've just always been like that and we love it ahaha
5:52 "am curious to know his current stats (etc etc)
Narrator: "a few seconds lay-tuh..........................." hee hee and no, Luke.. keep asking the rhetorical questions.. it amuses us greatly...
6:22 "WTF? Was he level 10 last time?"
Jin-Woo was level 17 after defeating the giant snake and got another level for defeating the golem. With 12 ability points, we can assume it's been 4 days since the instance dungeon.
9:21 "He can hide the fact that he's getting stronger."
You'll learn why that wouldn't work later, but let's just leave it at: that wouldn't work.
I need the montage of all your "maybe i need to stfu" too 😂
Jinho (young guy with armor) is best boi!
8:18 omg that was soooooooooooooo effing funny... we're down to a SPLIT SECOND before Jin answers Luke now... damn near choked on my coffee that time..
edit-- 13:15 (mad scientist gigglesnorting at Luke) and we're up to 3...
he got buff and taller thanks to leveling up and stats , his face as well finer now to match his new body.
oh no he's hoooot
He was lvl 15 before he fought the snake boss, then he got 3 lvls for killing it.
What was that horse noise-sounding scream at the beggining😂
Jinho is a cinnamon roll in this trying time
I've read the Light novel and the manhwa.
The amount of prewatching is insane LMAO
Next episode gonna be fire tho, can't wait for it
20:00 It seems they are intentionally drawing a parallel between this S-rank hunter and Jinwoo.
It’s not too early. I read all 200 chapters after watching 3 episodes. Knocked it out in 4 days
I'm surprised they even had time to show the boss. They could have ended it after Jin-Woo suspecting them.
man i love this anime , i read and finished the the manhwa year ago so im hype to c it gettinga good adaptation so far i hope thay do keep it that or improve it but one thing i hate the most are the cliffhangers
Has he always been able to see hunter ranks just by looking at people?
No. His new Perception stats increased, and he can easily observe people's aura now.
Our sunshine best boy is hereeee.😘
@2:57 "Is this how people ask?" It's not uncommon for women to ask men for their number in South Korea. Although, I have no idea how common it is to ask for it at work (especially by a nurse to their assigned patient.) haha
He is the sowdow monarch ❤
Lots of love for your reactions
But Jin wu has mining things in the backpacks what aquipmant did they forgot?
Equipment for transporting large amounts of goods.
This is exactly how we felt reading the Manwha.
10.000.000 Won is around 7.000€
they leave them behind because 1) the spider eats them and will surely sleep after thar so they can harvest the crystals and 2) they don't have to share or pay them.
the pasing in the anime is really good, but in the manga it somehow better because everything 'world-building'-stuff is put between the action scenes, what can't be done in the anime without having some episodes only explaining and some only fighting.
Manhwa*
I hope the quality drop was just on this episode, it feels like it was made by third party studios. The frame counts are noticeable including inconsistent and wacky character faces and models. Probably whoever made this episode had difficulty to draw in RediceStudio artstyle.
I might nitpicking but it is very noticeable and difficult to ignore compared to previous 4 episodes.
I hope next episode would be better cuz I would cry if the fight scenes are glowing slash lines with "shing shing shing" special effects.
Sung "Nah I'd win" Woo
Not going to spoil but it is the system that is infact changing his appearance for plot reasons not just an artistic choice.
you should consider becoming a fortune teller, even if you kind of only be able to foresee about 3 second ahead of the story lol
What is happening is nurses being nurses. They gossip. A lot. I should know, my mom is a nurse. 😂
Yes, solo leveling love the cliffhanger

@@Fuko0139 Not best i mean favourite. Best and favourite are different things.
And i was talking about the whole solo leveling anime and not just first season.
Imagine your parents naming you Dongsuk. 😂
Thx for the reaction
bro is FLUSTERED with his new body 💀
I hope we get season 2 from same studio
A1-PICTURE is the right choice
