Well the issue is not so much the diff, it's the shafts. but when they break/snap the part goes inside the diff meaning the whole set needs to be replaced.. Psst yes replaced them 2 times now. Yama is bringing out improved model in a few months with better parts such as diffs and tyres.
This is the ultimate Buggy for me, I may get one.It would be a big expense though, but it looks like quality and solid engineering.Plus the fun to be had with it and that lovely 2 stroke sound.Until then I am electric 1/16 drift car and Trojan Buggy!!!

The first thing I would do with these is to drill a hole in the axle, and insert a pin for 17MM hubs, and put different tires on there. That square hub looks to be junk, and comes off way too easily. A few minor upgrades, and this would be an awesome basher. Definitely needs reverse, and 4 wheel drive.
I'm wondering if I should upgrade the rear shock absorbers to rovan/hpi Baja shocks. Every time I go over a large is bump the bottom of the shock disconnects from the actual shock absorber
hello mate , did you have any issues with the bell housing ? i have the 30cc pro edition and its been nothing but problems, i have gone thru 3 of them now and nitrotek have been nothing but a fkin ball ache.. its still under warranty and they pretty much dont want to know. my suspention failed twice in exactlyt the same place and my muffler is leaking. Ive had it scince jan this year and have not even got thru 5 tanks of fuel. i hape that you have not had such a bum deal as i have.... the funny thing is its exactly the same part number as the 23 and 26 cc vertions. obviously with the more punch the 30cc has you would have thought they would have upgraded the steel for the larger displacement engine. Be super chuffed if you have any advice in regards the above mentioned . yours hopefully Ian.....peace out
Hi Ian, Yes I did have issues with the gearbox/ bell housing on mine too. It is a weak point and seems they never improved it all these years later. Unfortunately I no longer have the car so don't have a solution to offer, I now have a Rovan Baja buggy (HPI Baja clone) which is far better designed
I’m looking for the stock wheel and tire on eBay, however they were only one wheel for sale in bad condition. Do you know any aftermarket wheels that would fit in the buggy only because hpi sized ones don’t fit.

Original Aowey tyres are crap. I tried HPI Baja tyres - I am still on the same sets. Tyre fits, wheel doesn't. You will have to mount tyres on yama wheels.
It depends on how you drive it if your full throttle all the time then it's going to go down faster but I would say you would get at least a good 1 hour out of it there good on fuel

This wouldn't be your best choice. I would recommend the Rovan Baja, it is far better than this one with much better parts availability.

You need to measure the hex size on the Yama and then buy wheels that have the same size hex

The grass shouldn't be breaking it. I did have issues with mine but when it was working I found it pretty good.
