Morning all! A question I still get asked despite already having LOADS of videos on it. If you like the look of this car, link and discount code is in the description!
Great video. Very new to nitro hobby myself so this helps a lot. Have one quick question. Is it detrimental to the engine lifespan if tank one isn't ran through at idle(stationary)? I personally set the max permitable throttle to a little below 25% and performed very slow driving around at a rich setting. This is the only tank gone through so far.
I’ve always flown battery RC planes and helis. Was looking at a battery buggy for me and my son but now I’m looking at nitro, would be more fun as a little bit more involved plus it sounds great 👍 watched a few of your videos seem really helpful
Man you make very good videos. I remember to watching you some times before years, you was a little kid back then and now you have become a pro. Very well job you have done, keep doing that as much as you can. I will suscribe to you because your steps are well explained. I also have the vrx 2e brushless and i am happy with this model. You will make me to start nitro again because before many years back i wasn't have almost any idea about nitros and i had stop use them and turn to electric, but now you have make to return to nitro again beacause you explain the nitro tuning with good setails. Very good job , very good.
Thank you for the helpful videos man! Just bought my first Nitro starter car (Ftx Carnage NT) and your videos have helped massively with understanding it all! Don’t live to far from you either it seems if you’re in Bournemouth! 😆
So I'm getting my first nitro truck soon, not new to the RC game but nitros definitely, question I think I seen on one of your other videos and other folks saying that you shouldn't let your tanks go empty in between because it'll start running too lean (I think that's right) and the motor will start to get louder and that is bad for the motor longevity wise so how do you know when its that time to filling up again ? like do you just watch it to see how low it is? that may sound like a silly question but I want to make sure I'm doing these procedures right so my truck can last long thanks.
Yes just keep an eye on the fuel level. Throughout break in is when you should avoid it, once the engine is broken it it doesn't harm it to run out. So during break in the body shell will be off so you can see the fuel tank level
Hello there, my friend. Nice video. I´m thinking to get one of HSP Backwash 94166, but I have a serious question: Should I get this rc car or the VRX RH802?? I know that they have differente scales, but the price difference is not that much, so...
Hi I have a question I have a nitro rc car, and it seems that every time I get to full throttle it bogs I’ve tried putting it on a rich setting and a lean setting and can’t get it right is there anything you can possibly recommend to do?
Nice video and great info. I'm new and trying to decide if I want to try a nitro car or just stick to my electric car. Many people say i should go for gas instead, because nitro is tricky and breaks easier. But is they really that bad? Saw your newest video. So i got the answer 😜 Still wondering if I should try out a nitro car first.
It's not bad at all, but repairing /setting up and tuning these engines are part of the hobby. If you want to just get it out of the box & start bashing it then stick with electric
great tutorial, just one question. When you start the break in process from tank one do you make any tuning adjustments? Or do you leave the engine stock until tanks 4 and 5? Thanks.
Good video Josh I'm sticking with my torro for a bit to get familiar with it great little nitro buggy for the price have a few videos on my channel of the torro ticks over and is running sweet now .
For the first tank of break in I didn't understand what u meant by sinking the first tank could you please help by clarifying what you do for first tank of break in. Great video by the way thanks!
lovely video! so i have a small question regarding breaking in a new engine. is there a set rule on which glow plug to use to break in the engine? for example, does it need to be a cold, medium, hot plug.
Hiya that was a lovely vid but I’m really confused on how to tune a brand new nitro rc car I just don’t get it I might take it to a rc shop but then they might charge me so I was hoping please can you one vid of how to tune all the screws and everything please !👍🏻 I also want my car to be really fast too I’ve got a HSP nitro car
@@TheRCBiker One more question. When I tune the high speed needle to make it faster do I need to mess with the other needles like the low speed or idle or shall I keep them default
I have just run in my Hyper 7 TQ2 .21 Engine. It's always very difficult to start. If I take the the pressure tube from the exhaust and blow down it with the carb tube also taken off then fuel pisses out. If I blow down the tube with the fuel tube connected to the carb then I can't blow fuel into the carb. All needles are factory settings. Any idea?

Woohoo. I remember this channel from like 7 years ago (when I quit the Hobby).

Make more videos about about nitro tuning with the rest of the needles and not only the high speed needle.
I've done loads of tuning videos mate, not sure we need any more!
How good would the engine break in if I used the same method but only half a tank per procedure

not a stupid question at all, i’ve been wondering this too for the past 2 weeks. glad we got an answer
Hello there, my friend.
Nice video.
I´m thinking to get one of HSP Backwash 94166, but I have a serious question:
Should I get this rc car or the VRX RH802??
I know that they have differente scales, but the price difference is not that much, so...
So once your engine is broke in, do you still need to leave it 5 minutes before refuelling and going back out ?
Got one on the way, after this!
Hey, can i use my traxxas 20% nitro fuel?
I'm hopefully getting an FTX carnage nitro and and so excited for it haha

It depends how the tuning is set, you need to tune it accordingly

Hello! I have nitro car VRX 1008.Can you help me to start the engine because i messed the settings up?
Fantastic video there I really like that buggy looks super nice 👏🏼💯💯
thanks :)
For the first tank of break in I didn't understand what u meant by sinking the first tank could you please help by clarifying what you do for first tank of break in. Great video by the way thanks!
I heard him say "let it sing". Which to me sounds like letting the car idle the entire first tank without throttle input
@@kazenoyonia.6516 Thanks appreciate the clarification.
I'm thinking of getting this as a first nitro RC car, would you recommend this as a first? I've been reading a lot into it as well. 👍
Yes, absolutely
@@TheRCBiker nice one mate, cheers. Just bought one!👍
good video again josh ..thanks .... btw hows your new bike going
Thanks for watching :) Yes it's going great, 4500 miles put on her since I picked it up
I may need your help with something as old I'll let you know I mean old like 70s like straight racing straight line really low to the ground
I love your videos

lovely video!
so i have a small question regarding breaking in a new engine.
is there a set rule on which glow plug to use to break in the engine?

It depends what fuel your using, for a .21 engine or above use a medium plug with 25% fuel
@@TheRCBiker hi, quick question: for an engine VX18 2.74CC (car is VRX RH1006) will the 16% fuel be ok??
@@jakub7048 I'm trying to find the same answer for the VRX 1009 2 speed... Can't figure it out
@@birdistheword1327 if it has the same engine as I wrote above, 16% works well

hey i just found your channel and do you know that i can do to find that model of nitro car l have
Steady Andy boi
Who's Andy?
@@TheRCBiker you
Do you let the engine cool to ambient temps between tanks during break-in?
Yes you should give it about a 4-5 min break in between the tanks you don’t wanna over heat your new engine
Yes, allow a few minutes to cool
How to know when engine is tuned properly?
Nice and very helpful video !!!
Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Great video man😃😄
Thanks 😁
How’s the SX. Still getting out ? Plans to make any bike vlogs ?
It's going well, done Scotland & North Wales on it. Yes, bike videos coming :)
Thanks 😊

Sounds like just an air leak, have you tried priming it different ways?
I have a serious tuning problem I need help with, my motor will barely idle or if it idles it’ll barely run with throttle then it’ll cut out
Return all the tuning needles back to factory default, replace the glow plug, and then start from scratch!
I’ve done it a million times, after it comes up from idle at base tune it cuts out.
My little brother never broke in his nitro and it works fine after like 2-3 months I don’t get it
What can I do with a nitro engine that just pops and sputters its a sportwerks buggy with a .28c engine
Don't know what you mean by pops and splutters but I'd start by returning the carb needles to factory
Hey anyone know what is the best substitute for air filter oil
I can't think of one, just get some air filter oil :)
Not related to nitro rc but Bournemouth is a decent football club 😀
Haha, I wouldn't know, I'm not in to football 😀
What happen when u sand paper ur piston ?
You will do damage!
Never ever do that to a piston
Im so bad a tuning, a good thing I have a cheap engine anyway.
best way to learn! :)
