I think you get off at Butterworth and then have to travel over to the island, either on the ferry or by other means such as car or Grab, etc. And I don't think the trains, in 2007, were as good as those today.

What a fantastic weekend! I think that is a perfectly reasonable amount of money to spend on your 70th. The train looked great and the room was huge. So much storage for a hotel! Did Earl Grey miss you?
As you said it was a special occasion so why not spend and enjoy. Great video as usual. Just out of interest the train fare was it for one or two people?

Love your videos which I came across in lockdown and took an interest because an English lady that we met on holiday in Penang in December 2019 was hoping to retire there. I had never heard of MM2H or realised that people retired so far from their home country. We fell in love with Malaysia and have returned twice since 2019. During our travels last year we met a Canadian chap in the launderette in Malacca who also watches your videos, what a coincidence. I was slightly amused by your tour of your room at the Park Royal Hotel, it was all very lovely but why oh why don't they put the toilet seat down before new guests arrive?? Oops, nearly forgot, belated birthday greetings. Looks like you had a superb time.
