It's an excellent exercise. Giving me lots of increasement here. I must dig out my my looper pedal. Oh gosh, where my guitar leads are there far too short?
More ways to do the circle of 4,5s and better.., (astring fret 3) gives you c,d string fret 2 gives you e There are ,g open… gives you Ceg ,next play (d string fret 3) gives you F ,g string fret 2 ,gives you ,a and b string fret 1 gives you c….… now (g string fret 3 ) gives you Bb ) b string fret 3 gives you f and e string 1 fret 1 gives you f, … now copy those 3 shapes all root positions starting on fret 3 , now move up 3 frets and play same shapes on strings a ,d,g you will get Eb Ab Db now move up 3 more frets and copy same pattern Gb B E, now move up 3 frets again and play same pattern root position again , you have A D G , now play strings g,d,a heading back then move towards the nut 3 frets starting on g,d,a strings again you have and 3 frets towards the nut on g,d,a strings again 3 frets ,same g,d,a You just played the cirle of 4,5,s with 3 chords sharing same frets
It will teach where the notes are on the 5th and 6th strings. Each pairing C to F or F to Bb is a 1-4 change. You can use it to help with your 1-4-5 chord sequences. If you look at the diagram (let's say at C) The G to C movement is a 1-4. If you move from C to F that also a 1-4. If you from C to F to G, you have gone through a 1-4-5 chord progression and the C-F and G-C changes are both contained in this drill
major pentatonic scale. Plays root then 2 slides to 3. play 5 and root octave higher at same time with hammer onto 6 then pull off to let 5 and higher root ring. C, D slides to E. Next strings down play F and C with hammer on to G and pull off to F. Change root note, rinse, repeat exact same pattern.
My mistake. After moving up to next string set you play G and C at same time and hammer onto the A. The intervals mentioned above are correct, I mis-named the notes. Sorry for the confusion it may have caused
Within 2 weeks of discovering your channel you’ve become my favorite teacher. My brain clicks with how you explain things. Great stuff!
Thanks so much!

Keep Rockin !!!!
great stuff....you got madd skills thanks for sharing with us!!.
That silver strat takes me back to the late 90’s when I worked at McCabe’s music in Ventura, we had one hanging on the wall that I played often.
Bingo - it's a 1998, i think "Aztec" or "Inca" Silver?
You make what seemed a bit of a mystery simple.
Thank you for this
This is a great learning tool, put the work in you all. Happy New Year Tim!!

I still have zero FN clue how or why to use it.

explain the 9th and 12th fret and why is that fucking me up?
dammmmmnnm!
Why did you not say C# instead of Db? Using forths it Db and fifths C#...right?
Real question. How do you learn all of this music theory while making money? Where do you take the time to practice?
I know that chart doesnt say c flat on it
As weird as it seems, the C flat scale exists. Cb, Db, Eb, Fb, Gb, Ab, Bb, Cb. It is notated with 7 flats. Same w C#. Results in 15 key signatures
