Thanks for the compliment. I’ve been doing the videos for 8 months and often it feels like no one watches them but comments like yours keep me actively making them. I think the game is in a good space right now and there’s a lot of creativity to be had!

I like your idea for tempo mage. I’ll have to try it out.
Few things I want to ask about here. People are already calling for day 1 emergency hot fix patch for mage be it the tourist or tsunami or what have you. What are your thoughts and where do you stand on that issue.
Also, on a personal note, it makes me really sad when I see both Paladin and Mage using rogue cards to much greater success than even rogue itself. Furthermore, it seems as though DH got a lot of tempo tools in this miniset and they look like great cards but I wish rogue was the tempo beast it used to be. It seems like all rogue ever gets is burgle support and let’s be honest, while spamming a bunch of random, 1 mana spells/legendaries from other classes may be fun at times, it is by no means consistent and more often than not ends up being woefully uncompetitive when compared to the archetypes of classes which have a consistent plan of attack. Add to that, with rogue being so squishy as a class and with no AOE to speak of (I know there’s health drink, and a new AOE from warlock, but when you have to depend on another class for those tools something is wrong here. The only other way to heal or get a bit of AOE is with stick up which is why the card is run in every rogue deck.), I feel like it’s just in a funky place partly because they’re afraid to make any good tempo cards for fear that Sonya will abuse them somehow. What can be done to help rogue which is my favorite class, can they revert Eudora and Maestra one mana lower to 4 mana or will that break the class? Am I just out of my mind and rogue is fine where it’s at??

Firstly, thank you for thoughtful discussion!
1) I think that overall player sentiment is just shocked by the “new” thing but the reality is, king tide already did this work. People just aren’t used to seeing tsunami on 4/5.
That said, the issue isn’t really Skyla. Sure. Put her back 1 mana I guess. Hell, make it so the coin can’t be swapped. But the issue is really that rogue tourist gives mage access to coin generation, tempo discount through sea shill, and extreme value with conniving conman. Those are the real winners of the deck.
2) regarding rogue: rogue is always in a tricky place. It always feels like it is a gamble. The obvious example is burgle rogue where you are at the whim of rng. But even excavate rogue and similar rogue decks were extremely strong because they just porovided so much value and tempo. You got the pirate chick that discounts a card by 3 etc like rogue has really good cards. Two ideas that I think are promising for rogue are weapon rogue (if mage loses popularity) with the 4 mana weapon buff and swarthy sword finder. The other idea is returning to a giant rogue using the robocaller on yhe turn you draw him , combining it with everything must go mug it be powerful enough.
