I honestly feel like the original Artist 12 had the best pen of all the XPPEN products. The 13.3 Pro was an upgrade in everything except the line quality. Felt odd
I got the artist 12 pro and tbh its still really good if u can get one of those. It comes with a stand as well included and i have to say im not disapointed for what i had to pay for it

@@anamayumi1100 yeah they gave me a new cord and it didn’t really do much. But they were very responsive and helpful. I ended up getting their new product. Mines is in pink. A lot more secure then the artist 12
I think the wobbly lines is a common problem when stepping up into high initial activation tech and xppen is facing it now and huion had it before. Initial activation won't matter to all artist, some noticed it, some doesn't need it as ive tried it to some artist i know personally. So FYI, if you draw lightly, this initial activation matters, like me. But if you draw heavily, older models will work for you coz so far, artist 15.6 pro stills works after 2.5yrs. Ill be waiting for x3 to improve more in the future coz i like the pen design.
i think u forgot to mention that for the tablet to work with only usb-c port, it has to be plugged in to a computer with a usb-c 3.0 port which has integrated DisplayPort. All current macs have this, but most android phone do not, and some PCs with usb-c will ,may or may not have displayport integrated
Hey everyone, I ended up getting this based on brad’s review and a few others’. After giving up on graphics tablets and displays almost a decade ago because of how terrible the value was, this is my first revisit to desktop drawing. I’ve been on iPad Pro since 2018 and was worried this XP pen wouldn’t meet my needs. It’s a little barebones, I don’t find the shortcut keys that useful, and the display take a while to wake. Otherwise though, this thing can capture some pen input! For the price, it fit my need well enough. Definitely missing a dial, mostly for scrolling or zooming. Coming from iPad (touch screen to zoom and scroll) it is not easy to get around large, intricate, files Anyway, I imagine anything you get will be able to draw fine, so pick based on size and macro buttons/dials. It’s fun to control your computer this way
Hi what was the shipping like? I ordered a 12 pro on Tuesday and my mom doesn't like that it's from China and she filled me with anxiety about the shipping. I don't know if it'll come at all or how long it'll take to get here or even if it'll come safely and not broken.

nice review! considering buying this because my original artist 12 that i've had for a few years was stolen recently. looks like a good upgrade and it is in my price range.
This one has more compatibility with more devices which is mostly the reason why I want it the artist 12 Pro I love its design and brings a stand, but only works on 2 devices
Great review as always Brad! Is it just me who thinks that it seems to be two buttons on the pen and not one? BTW, I love this tablet. I also have an Innovator 16 but this one is more portable and works better for me. I'm using Clip Studio Paint and don't seem to have the issue with waves while drawing e.t.c. I see that others already have suggested solutions to the problems mentioned in the video so I'd recommend trying out those. :)
I realize it's been a year but yes I'm having difficulty figuring out if it's one or two buttons on the pen. Other videos seem to suggest two or leave it ambiguous but here he says one. I'm wondering if anyone can tell if the new 2nd Gen has two buttons or not.
I know it has been a year, but another problem with budget for that all-in-one USB-C connection is most computers don't have a thunderbolt port that is needed for it, the thunderbolt add-on cards cost as much as the tablet sometimes.
You're giving me a hard time by posting this. I wanna gift someone with a budget pc so I could her a little but seeing this also wanted me to give this to that person as well since she is practicing and she is pretty good with drawings with her style. Maaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnn!!!! I need miracle
Brad please link the USB type C cable you use with this? I cannot for the life of me find one that fits into the ports, the cable is is normally too big
I had that problem with a Huion tablet once. I used one I already had and I don't remember where I got it, but your best bet is one right from XP-Pen www.storexppen.com/buy/acw03.html Also, one of the USB-C ports on it is wider than the other so this will only fit in one of the side ports.
Hi. Really nice videos. I would love to see you review the new XP-PRO Deco L/LW with the new X3 chip powered super sensitive pen - at least that's what they're claiming.
Hey Brad, I'm struggling to find a tablet that's good for tattoo artist and now I'm contemplating between the Boox tablets and Leia Inc's Lume Pad. Would you be reviewing these in the near future?
@@RamoArt I suppose in terms of outlining a design. Stenciling can be done by hand but thru layering and editing on a tablet, iit would be much more easier. Line volumes can be added with ease and printing it out to go thru a machine to stencil would make the design more clean. I know a lot of tattoo artist go for the iPad or any of its variants but I would like something more budget friendly but good pen latency on it too. And honestly, I'm thinking about either the book, Leias Lume pad or the S7 FE.
Hey brad! Please do a video on using superdisplay on an android tablet with pen support for second display. Been using it with my tab s6 lite and it is phenomenal.
its a small silly detail but one of the main reasons i havent given up my old wacom for a nice new xp pen is no tap to click. otherwise im super open to xp.
I just bought one of these second hand for 40usd, I've never had a tablet before although have briefly used one, it was so cheap I thought I just had to give it a go.
I just got mine and i've been having some decently serious issues. first off, the screen temperature is too warm, and won't let me get accurate colors, second the tablet dims everytime the pen comes near it its subtle but very annoying. lastly, i've had some issues with it keeping hold of the tool i'm using, for some reason, when i take my pen a bit away from the screen it switches to the eraser tool. I must say i'm dissapointed. i've had the Gen 1 for a few years now and it works beautifully, aside from an issue where it started flickering. but when it's not doing that its working flawlessly. i was hoping the GEN 2 was a step, and while it isnt flickering yet (got it yesterday) i'm thinking about returning it because the issues are just not conducive to workflow
@@sloppynyuszi I think I will keep it, I'm just not much of an drawer yet at least and probably could use something else, I mean I do have an xp pen drawing tablet w/o display but find it hard to use. @@static2601 well if you aren’t fully an artist yet, the Samsung is perfect, as it’s a great drawing tool, but good for other tablet stuff, light gaming, streaming heavy games, watching movies, browsing Web etc. Personally I’m not into VR, but I have seen amazing things done within it. At $100 and below I have the options of: XP Pen 12 2nd Gen Xencelabs (Small) Wacom Intuous Medium Huion Inspiroy Dial Q620M Pen Tablet XP Pen Deco Pro Medium Which one do you think I should invest into as a complete beginner?
My tablet is set up with everything except the screen it wont desplay the screen no matter what i do. i set it all up properly, its working like a none display tablet as in i can draw it just wont show the screen. Im super upset how do i fix this? Seriously please help
regarding the shortcut keys.... for us left handed folks, can one flip this around to so the buttons are on the right side, and the screen flips accordingly? I tried out an older screenless budget tablet that lacked that option of flipping the surface, and found since I diidn't have an option in software to flip stuff, or disable the buttons as a last resort, i had to tape a rigid piece of plastic over the buttons to stop my palm from switching all the time while drawing.... and that sucked cuz I really liked being able to use those.

I mostly work on blender sculpting , grease pencil and krita 2d animation. where I need the space to keep the timeline as well. ----Do u think kamvas 16(2021) is enough size? (466 usd) (worried about size) ----can I get older version of kamvas 20 pro (2019) (627 usd) (hope not too big for FHD) but worried about PW507 pen -----kmavas 22 plus (800 usd) (worried about no shortcut keys and only FHD for that big size) -----xp-pen24 pro (920usd) ( heard lots of driver and tilt issues) (non laminated display) (QHD and shortcut keys are good) I can afford any of these. or I can spend little more to get Kamvas 24 pro QHD. Please suggest.

wobble is certainly an issue, i use nothing but wacom and huion tablets; and this is beyond the norm. They both have wobble, but not this bad. Looks like a great tablet otherwise, algorithm change to the drivers should be able to smooth that issue.

I really like the display. Feels way better to draw and write on than my ipad
I honestly feel like the original Artist 12 had the best pen of all the XPPEN products. The 13.3 Pro was an upgrade in everything except the line quality. Felt odd
I got the artist 12 pro and tbh its still really good if u can get one of those. It comes with a stand as well included and i have to say im not disapointed for what i had to pay for it
I have the original artist 12 and it went completely green after three months. Maybe the pro is batter, but the artist 12 really disappointed me
@@torimonet8402 could be a defect one or something too
@@lonedragon255 maybe, it literally happened last night randomly. Waiting for a response from their tech group.
@@torimonet8402 Hey! I know its been a while, but were you able to fix the problem? I've been thinking about buying one of those, but I'm unsure about their support in cases like yours...
@@anamayumi1100 yeah they gave me a new cord and it didn’t really do much. But they were very responsive and helpful. I ended up getting their new product. Mines is in pink. A lot more secure then the artist 12
It's been a hot minute since xp pen made a new 22 inch tablet... Can't wait to see what they have in store.
Thank you for this review!
Glad it was helpful!
How's your 15.6 pro so far?
i think u forgot to mention that for the tablet to work with only usb-c port, it has to be plugged in to a computer with a usb-c 3.0 port which has integrated DisplayPort. All current macs have this, but most android phone do not, and some PCs with usb-c will ,may or may not have displayport integrated
I have the first gen artist 12 and it is amazing.
Same! Just bought it and I'm super happy with it.
Coming from iPad (touch screen to zoom and scroll) it is not easy to get around large, intricate, files
Anyway, I imagine anything you get will be able to draw fine, so pick based on size and macro buttons/dials.
@@tabithaoftoby6087 I wouldn’t worry about it. You’ve probably received it by now. I ordered from Amazon because I was in a hurry
@@barbietripping yeah I got it on the Sunday after I ordered it :)
Although I still am kind of upset with my mom for the unnecessary anxiety she gave me 😅
@@tabithaoftoby6087 Not sure which generation she's from but most boomers assume anything from SE Asia is unreliable
@@barbietripping she's 55 so it kind of checks out XD
Thanks for the review, I purchased this product. Needed the USB C port instead of the 2 USB and HDMI port.
nice review! considering buying this because my original artist 12 that i've had for a few years was stolen recently. looks like a good upgrade and it is in my price range.
Dude those Christmas cookies looked so good!!!
This just fantastic artwork and such a pleasure to view your channel. Have a safe and wonderful day.
This one has more compatibility with more devices which is mostly the reason why I want it the artist 12 Pro I love its design and brings a stand, but only works on 2 devices
Wait it only works on two devices!? I just ordered it on Tuesday and I didn't know that!
What two devices?...
@@tabithaoftoby6087 you should’ve probably read throughly the product description before you ordered 😭
@@xcx000 oh well mines been working fine actually 😅
How does this compare to the Huion Kamvas 13 (2020)?
It's very similar but I like Huion's pen better.
@@thebradcolbow I see, thanks Brad!
I need miracle
yes the gloves dance, after a long time, so nice
Brad please link the USB type C cable you use with this? I cannot for the life of me find one that fits into the ports, the cable is is normally too big
I had that problem with a Huion tablet once. I used one I already had and I don't remember where I got it, but your best bet is one right from XP-Pen www.storexppen.com/buy/acw03.html
Also, one of the USB-C ports on it is wider than the other so this will only fit in one of the side ports.
Hi. Really nice videos. I would love to see you review the new XP-PRO Deco L/LW with the new X3 chip powered super sensitive pen - at least that's what they're claiming.
thanks Brad. this is good to know. looks a good display tablet.
I've been waiting for this. Thanks for the review !
Hey Brad, I'm struggling to find a tablet that's good for tattoo artist and now I'm contemplating between the Boox tablets and Leia Inc's Lume Pad. Would you be reviewing these in the near future?
What makes a tablet good for tattoo artists? Like what's something you're looking for that differs from fine artists?
@@RamoArt I suppose in terms of outlining a design.
Stenciling can be done by hand but thru layering and editing on a tablet, iit would be much more easier. Line volumes can be added with ease and printing it out to go thru a machine to stencil would make the design more clean.
I know a lot of tattoo artist go for the iPad or any of its variants but I would like something more budget friendly but good pen latency on it too.
And honestly, I'm thinking about either the book, Leias Lume pad or the S7 FE.
$40 extra for some stickers and a different box design and that's it? I AM SOLD!
Noob here. I see you using the glove. Is there a touchscreen here as well or the glove is just so the hand doesn't stick to the surface?
Ive been waiting for this
Hey brad! Please do a video on using superdisplay on an android tablet with pen support for second display. Been using it with my tab s6 lite and it is phenomenal.
its a small silly detail but one of the main reasons i havent given up my old wacom for a nice new xp pen is no tap to click. otherwise im super open to xp.
can i use a type c charger to power it?is that all theses cables are for?
Could I ask a question? cuz i cant decide if i should get xp pen artist 12 2nd gen or the huion kamvas 13. could i get an advice from you?
Which one did you buy in the end?
I just bought a galaxy tab s7+ for drawing then found out about these much cheaper options. So may send it back but really love it lol.
You should keep it. There are apps that turn it into a Cintiq alternative if need be. Android app selection has grown too.
@@sloppynyuszi I think I will keep it, I'm just not much of an drawer yet at least and probably could use something else, I mean I do have an xp pen drawing tablet w/o display but find it hard to use. I've been drawing with this and it's amazing and the tablet itself is fast, looks great and been on it non stop the last two days. I was just thinking 700 bucks could go towards a nice vr headset but would need a new GPU also 😄. Then I could paint in vr on a virtual canvas anywhere in the world😂. That would be cool I think. We'll see what happens.
But you really need the space for it. I don’t think you can slap that on in a cafe and go full creative with it.
@@sloppynyuszi No not really unless its mobile VR in which case probably isnt as good as the real thing, but going to keep this tablet, drawing is really good and easy for a starter like me. I was thinking about getting one with more internal memory, only have 128 and its almost full already. I mean I can add more storage but maybe 8gb of ram would be nice to have too.
I think that.... glove dance never get old! :)) Also think to move from Artist 15.6 pro to Pro 16.... but after your video think not for now. Hope they will upgrade that pen and solve problem eventually.
is that braile on the buttons?
I literally just bought this tablet and am waiting for it to arrive in the mail. Glad I made a good choice
How's the tablet holding up? And is the size okay for you?
not the best option but u could use some type of non-slipery item that can make ur tablet a little higher. ive tried this just to check and it worked well so just saying
ur tablet can slip off so thats a thing to make sure abt
I'm so confused by they're products 12 13 15 16. Some things have things others don't. In my head as a consumer usually the higher the number the better it is and more you get
Could I possibly plug this into a powerbank and have it work?
Hey Brad I have a question I want to get into digital drawing and have a little experience in it but with a tablet without a screen so should I buy a stand alone tablet? Or a graphics tablet?
I am a complete beginner and I've just sorted out my local used market for some drawing tablets.
At $100 and below I have the options of:
XP Pen 12 2nd Gen
Xencelabs (Small)
Wacom Intuous Medium
Huion Inspiroy Dial Q620M Pen Tablet
XP Pen Deco Pro Medium
Which one do you think I should invest into as a complete beginner?
My tablet is set up with everything except the screen it wont desplay the screen no matter what i do. i set it all up properly, its working like a none display tablet as in i can draw it just wont show the screen. Im super upset how do i fix this? Seriously please help
Always love the glove dance
Question would you recommend someone to buy this tablet?
Please mention that if any tablet does not have etched glass
regarding the shortcut keys.... for us left handed folks, can one flip this around to so the buttons are on the right side, and the screen flips accordingly? I tried out an older screenless budget tablet that lacked that option of flipping the surface, and found since I diidn't have an option in software to flip stuff, or disable the buttons as a last resort, i had to tape a rigid piece of plastic over the buttons to stop my palm from switching all the time while drawing.... and that sucked cuz I really liked being able to use those.
You can. I just saw a Japanese UA-camr reviewing this product and flipping it for both left and right handed folks. Think it was Emoco.
I am planning to buy the pen display.
I have been using cintiq medium pro last 6 years.
I mostly work on blender sculpting , grease pencil and krita 2d animation. where I need the space to keep the timeline as well.
----Do u think kamvas 16(2021) is enough size? (466 usd) (worried about size)
----can I get older version of kamvas 20 pro (2019) (627 usd) (hope not too big for FHD) but worried about PW507 pen
-----kmavas 22 plus (800 usd) (worried about no shortcut keys and only FHD for that big size)
-----xp-pen24 pro (920usd) ( heard lots of driver and tilt issues) (non laminated display) (QHD and shortcut keys are good)
I can afford any of these. or I can spend little more to get Kamvas 24 pro QHD.
Please suggest.
Interesting. So for a tablet like this screen realstate has to factor in the menus im the software. Can you not just move the screen away from the menus?
I need more glove dance, if you don't reuse the footage every time, you should make a glove dance compilation.
Thanks, Brad. Thanks.
Hello. I really need your help. Advise which MacBook on M1 to choose for working with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Animate and generally working with cartoons?
At the same time, we have a home pc with i9 and rtx 3070. Do I have enough MacBook Air to work with animation? Or I should consider a new MacBook Pro to buy. Thanks in advance for your answer💜
Does anyone miss the scroll-wheel from the Artist 12 Pro?
Is there any way to work around it on this tablet, like mapping zoom/size functions to the shortcut keys?
Amazing review!! And OMG!!! I love that cookies' drawing!!!! So cute!!! Fantastic technique!!! Great work 😍❤️❤️❤️
Which one is better on color accuracy wise, xp pen artist 12 2nd gen or huion kamvas 12?
Hey question, where can I order this? (I live in Egypt and there is a site but it sells it for over 400$ so yeahh) recommend me some sites that are somewhat normal priced the shipping isn't too expensive
Rather spend the extra $40 for a 16" work area instead of stickers and a fancy box so I can use it as a 2nd monitor for my laptop.
Full guide of this tablet on how to use it properly please
Hi! Brad, thanks for the review. What can you suggest is a better 15.6 or 16 inch tablet display that goes with a type c cable option?
this fell perfectly in my 235cad budget
That's it!
Im getting it
Can you use this as a primary monitor for a pc? I am very mobile and between offices (needing to work from home and occasionally go into the office or travel internationally) doing video editing with After Effects, illustrating with Ai or Ps... So, a laptop needs to be pretty beefy (and my beefy boy is dying) and I'm entertaining the thought of a small PC like the Lenovo P360 Ultra and a travel monitor so i can fly with this stuff and have a decent office when i land... Super unique situation, i know. But I'm really needing some advice cause i don't have the time, money, and nearby electronics shops to do proper research...
Does the tablet screen come on pc screen like mirror
Hey Brad, I'm thinking of buying this tablet but am kind of worried of those wobbly lines.
Any update or improvements on those as of when this comment is posted?
I've heard that it's possibly been fixed by an update, although I haven't heard anything confirmed. It's on sale on amazon for $169, and was thinking it was a steal, but heard about the wobbliness and searched the comments about it. I'll probably end up getting it anyways lol.
but brad which display tablet you are using personally ?
Came here for the glove dance. Not disappointed.
is it worth buying this instead of the regular artist 15.6? Are the 2nd gen pros worth more than the regular one with a bigger screen?
Would you recommend this over the artist 12 pro? They’re very similar prices right now
I just bought one of this but for some reason even after turning it on the screen stays black, and i dont know how to make the screen appear, it says its out of signal?
i used it for more than a year, before i used it mostly for full illustration so i don't really care about pen pressure, and now when i do lining for my job i notice the pressure is quiet terrible, and i choose to watch your review again (before i bought this tablet i watch your review too) to check if this tablet pressure is really that terrible and i saw that the pressure is working well on your video, and now i'm confused, why my device like that? i use csp for lining, i checked the pressure on other application too like medibang and photoshop but it was the same…
Hi Brad Can I use XP-Pen Artist 12 (2nd Gen) in left-handed mode? As I write with my left hand.
Brad, I am buying one for my son Christmas. I am looking at the GAOMON PD2200 on sale for $369 (Amazon). Would you recommend that over some of the other similar priced competitors (2020 HUION KAMVAS 22 - $496 or XP Pen Artist 22 Pro - $459)? Thank you so much for your time.
Im looking for a graphics tablet ,nothing fancy but I can't handle that lag ,is there any tablets in the budget side that have a more responsive screen?
wobble is certainly an issue, i use nothing but wacom and huion tablets; and this is beyond the norm. They both have wobble, but not this bad.
Looks like a great tablet otherwise, algorithm change to the drivers should be able to smooth that issue.
What wacom do u have? How do you compare the pens
interesting cause i always hear about huion and other tablets having wobbles from western friends (im assuming ur from the west) , but here in south east asia, the products we receive from their stores in china actually have no noticeable wobbles , i can even compare my artist 12 2nd gen to the og intuos
@@0specgamerdad456 cintiq 12wx from 2010-2013, 13hd, 2013- late 2018, A Cintiq pro 16 for a month in late 2018, It had a great digitiser and pen; and loved the felt tip; But the fan noise, surface heat and flaky 4k support without thunderbolt had me return it after a month, seller had a lot of returns so took it back without fuss. Going from that pro 16 cintiq to a huion pro 20; couldn't tell a difference aside from the felt tip, pressure on both was excellent, very little wobble, no jitter. Huion supposedly has felt tips now, but i haven't seen them for sale in my region. The pro 16 was not a normal wacom, had more problems than usual and was replaced as a model by wacom fast, so don't let that bias you against wacom or for chinese tablets.
@@anasevi9456 thanks i have just a basic kamvas 13 and was thinking when i get more "pro" should i upgrade to a wacom or just stick with huion and get a maybe 22+
@@anasevi9456 I have a pro 16 (old version) and the only issues I experienced were firmware. That got solved by Wacom support. Other than that I've never had fan issues or anything of the sort. The fan is silent on mine. It does get a bit warm on the lower right side but it doesn't really bother me, keeps me warm during the cold weather. XD I love that even with a protector, the nibs don't wear out, which was a big concern to me. It works as new and haven't had any issues since. Maybe a case per case basis? :o I do agree though that for the price, it shouldn't even have those little details.
If this XP pen had touch, less jitter and was a tad bigger, I'd sell my Cintiq in a heartbeat. XD
Should I get this or the 13.3 pro for pixel-art? I need one with good color and screen, the pen/pen wobble is not a problem.

I have a problem. I bought one of these, and the pen works, but the screen is still black. Any way to fix this???
Can I ask what graphics tablet is good for animation for beginners
Hey I was wondering about what the drawing software is that you use for drawing
In this video he was using Photoshop. Look at the icons on the toolbar across the bottom of the screen (in this case the blue 'PS' is the giveaway. A white icon with a tilted 'P' would indicate Clip Studio Paint)
Hey brad 👋, what do you think, who's got the best after sale service amoung huion, wacom and xp pen?
