Definitely don't get the vocal hate either. This guy legit gives me chills with the unorthodoxy. Its like soul, gospel, rock and metal all rolled into one
There was a time when everyone hated Jonathan Davis vocals and Serj Tankien too but now I hear that shit on radio. It's so refreshing to hear something different and unique. This guy gets it
Why is every opinion nowadays considered "hate"? I love the song, the riffs are nasty, tone is awesome... But the vocals absolutely don't fit the song at all, both stylistically and harmonically wise. Sounds like it was mashed up with vocals from another track.
How have we not heard of this band before,,,just watched 4 of their video's , this is such a sweet blend of styles,,, got that "SWEET SOUND" thats for sure!!!!!!!!!!!
The vocal style reminds me a bit of Living Colour. It's nice to hear something different over that belting riff. Like it when people don't just follow the genre protocol
Bang on mate! Exactly what i thought. Its that juxtaposition of almost pop like vocals with the heavy groove. At first you think this aint right but after a while you get it. Its almost as if he was singing along to a different song.
Saw them in Portland last summer and it was one of the greatest moments in my life. They kicked ass and created a whole lot of sound for just four dudes. Totally down to earth guys too, John gave me a big hug and thanked me for coming out. If you like their sound do yourself a favor and see them live if you have the chance!
I don’t think I’ve ever heard a more form-fitting sound in my life! If this is destined. I’m glad to be a part of it. They have mastered a “Made for music collaboration between artists” for sure! 👍👍
I've been listening to this album for the last few months. That slide guitar solo was what took me from "these guys are awesome" to "HOLY SHIT this is fucking genius!" Great stuff!
Yeah, saw these guys fuck shit up in Lansing last month, not thinking much of them prior, and they ended up being one of my favorite acts of the evening without a doubt. Such an original sound, damn solid musicianship, and a great live show. Super chill guys as well!
I'm 52 and this is the most original and talented music I've heard in over a decade. It's a weird thing to pop in my head, but,Id lol be to see them cover Kings X
Now that the democRATs got their ass kicked in a historically unprecedented landslide we should get more good music from these baby killing Dems. Still love their music and will still listen no matter how delusional their politics are.
I didn't know Jason Bateman got chunky and started a band. Digging it....simplified rock but still pretty good to rock out too. This fits a certain void in my catalog of tunes I needed for a balanced diet.
Ben Caffrey haha dude no blackstar to my knowledge. I'm pretty sure we used nicks hiwatt and a 6505 for most of the record. might have a bogner, Marshall, and a fender combo in there at some point too.
It's my favourite album since loooong time. And finally, even the vocals are amazing, after several listenings. Just hope Moon Tooth will tour in France next time
To quote Keanu: “Whoa!” Metal with heavy blues riffs? Check. Vocals that don’t make you feel like you’re listening to EVERY OTHER METAL BAND THE LAST DECADE? Check. Check the box for 70s / 80s / 90s influences thrown in for good measure. Net sum - i could listen to more of this, and then some!
Fluff has good listening ideas. This song is amazing. And... I bought the whole album. Lot of people criticize the vocals, but I like them. I just think the singer should bring more variety to his voval styles, and sing less complicated, and more efficient. Keep on going, guys !
If Jimi Hendrix met the members of Gojira and was like "Hey ya'll I dig your stuff man gimme a lick I'll sing on top". (This is a compliment btw! Unless you's don't like Hendrix or Gojira... then idk)
Anyone know where the album version's intro "Long Island....that is rich...famous breeding ground of the blues..." is from? Can't seem to find anything on it. Can't wait for this band's 2nd full-length. Chromaparagon is still a go-to front-to-back album, killer start to finish.
Don't know if you found the answer to this in the time since you asked, but the sample is from the movie "Crossroads". The 1986 one starring Ralph Macchio and Joe Seneca, with Steve Vai playing a small part. Not the 2002 movie starring Brittany Spears. :)
I (don't) love how the very tune that got me in to these beautiful bastards has no way near the plays of their latest release. I didn't know their first record, but fuck me... Chromaparagon will be in everyone's Spotify by easily 2025. And beyond. LOVE this band! You may have noticed. Bye.
Eu pensei que fosse um novo álbum da banda Goatsnake haha. Vocalista voz igual ao do Pete Stahl (Scream, Goatsnake, Wool, earthlings?, Orquesta del Desierto, Queens of the Stone Age) Good good good!
HairyNutsack69 I saw them play live and I talked to the guitarist, he uses a few pedals to drive the amp, im sure in the studio he tracked the song at least twice to make it sound huge
This guy gets it
I actually think the dudes voice is fantastic
Agreed mate, he's got an amazing voice...........very underrated band all round!!
Carbone is an essential piece of this sound. Unique and powerful.
Why is every opinion nowadays considered "hate"? I love the song, the riffs are nasty, tone is awesome... But the vocals absolutely don't fit the song at all, both stylistically and harmonically wise. Sounds like it was mashed up with vocals from another track.
Honestly I heard one song before seeing them live......I'm 51 and that shit inspired me to get serious about guitar. And drugs
Sick heavy,❤
This song brought energy to my life. Just wanted to send thanks.
how was I not aware of this band yet? This was the best song i've heard in a looooooong time

haters be damned. this vocalist pulls this band together. i can't. stop. listening.
100% agree. The musicianship is fantastic but the vocals are a special sauce.
Holy shit.... Blues with metal done sooo well! That blues influenced solo was perfect
Now is that groove DIRTY or is that groove DIRTY
How have we not heard of this band before,,,just watched 4 of their video's , this is such a sweet blend of styles,,, got that "SWEET SOUND" thats for sure!!!!!!!!!!!
So incredibly unique.
I'm late to the party, but I absolutely love you guys!
This is one of the best songs I have ever heard
truly
The vocal style reminds me a bit of Living Colour. It's nice to hear something different over that belting riff. Like it when people don't just follow the genre protocol
Bang on mate! Exactly what i thought. Its that juxtaposition of almost pop like vocals with the heavy groove. At first you think this aint right but after a while you get it.
Its almost as if he was singing along to a different song.
I love the singing
Can anyone make a tab of this already?
THESE RIFFS ARE SO GOOD
Saw them in Portland last summer and it was one of the greatest moments in my life. They kicked ass and created a whole lot of sound for just four dudes. Totally down to earth guys too, John gave me a big hug and thanked me for coming out. If you like their sound do yourself a favor and see them live if you have the chance!
What a unique sound
I don’t think I’ve ever heard a more form-fitting sound in my life! If this is destined. I’m glad to be a part of it. They have mastered a “Made for music collaboration between artists” for sure! 👍👍
YES, this is what I'm looing for!
jesus this riff!! wow
I have easily listened to this song 300 times in the last week...
This is different. I like it a lot
I've been listening to this album for the last few months. That slide guitar solo was what took me from "these guys are awesome" to "HOLY SHIT this is fucking genius!" Great stuff!
Perfect running music! Slogging it uphill to these fat grooves :)

Such a great track. Love the vocals alongside that groove.
The riffs I'm this are nuts
I love this unique style
Unpredictable, unconventional, totally unique sound. I am totally blown away. Best song and band that I've encountered in a long time!
Holy shit how have a missed this? How many styles and genres can you throw into a track and not have it be a mess? So good.
Yeah, saw these guys fuck shit up in Lansing last month, not thinking much of them prior, and they ended up being one of my favorite acts of the evening without a doubt. Such an original sound, damn solid musicianship, and a great live show. Super chill guys as well!
So glad I stayed until the end of Fluffs last video - this is one of his SOTW
same here...never would have found them!
Most underrated song of all time
I'm 52 and this is the most original and talented music I've heard in over a decade. It's a weird thing to pop in my head, but,Id lol be to see them cover Kings X
Now that the democRATs got their ass kicked in a historically unprecedented landslide we should get more good music from these baby killing Dems. Still love their music and will still listen no matter how delusional their politics are.
So glad the singer wasn't Metal AF. This was refreshing!
Saw this band on Vigier facebook page. This band just gained one more fan! awesome sound and vocals and video. all is great.
I didn't know Jason Bateman got chunky and started a band. Digging it....simplified rock but still pretty good to rock out too. This fits a certain void in my catalog of tunes I needed for a balanced diet.

A bearded hipster who hates answering FAQ about Blackstar amps sent me here

Fluff has good listening ideas. This song is amazing. And... I bought the whole album.
Lot of people criticize the vocals, but I like them. I just think the singer should bring more variety to his voval styles, and sing less complicated, and more efficient.

A Blackstar amps fanboy sent me here.
If Jimi Hendrix met the members of Gojira and was like "Hey ya'll I dig your stuff man gimme a lick I'll sing on top".
(This is a compliment btw! Unless you's don't like Hendrix or Gojira... then idk)
Hahaha i can picture this
I was also sent here via a recommendation from the Bearded Hipster (aka Fluff). Great song, great video!! Quality shit
Blues-metal? Awesome! Video quality is sick. Also thought they did well at getting samuel tarley out of the citadel to play bass for them.

Anyone know where the album version's intro "Long Island....that is rich...famous breeding ground of the blues..." is from? Can't seem to find anything on it.

Eu pensei que fosse um novo álbum da banda Goatsnake haha.
Vocalista voz igual ao do Pete Stahl (Scream, Goatsnake, Wool, earthlings?, Orquesta del Desierto, Queens of the Stone Age)

How he gets that sound out of a 1974 Hiwatt...
HairyNutsack69 I saw them play live and I talked to the guitarist, he uses a few pedals to drive the amp, im sure in the studio he tracked the song at least twice to make it sound huge
Singing the blues over prog-metal. Sounds pretty cool
🤗
Are these guys rocking blackstar amps?
