  • This 1982 in immaculate condition just needed a retune, bringing the transmit output up to 4W from 3W as presented. Bigger gains were achieved on receive regarding sensitivity. For 41 years old this is in great condition & with original microphone & slide bracket; a credit to it's previous owner.
At the end of the tune-up, I show the VCO arrangement on this very popular, reliable Maxon chassis. To my knowledge there are three PCB variations. I see this version as the third incarnation.

Well, I've been busy at work - but I'm glad I caught this vid! Thank you for not skipping over the VCO. Always getting an education watching you. And yes, GREAT stories! I can't help but laugh out loud - radio repair plus stand-up comedy! Good stuff!

Another Midland in good condition for its age, seen a bit of use, but may have been stored in a dry place for a while. I liked the sliding bracket on the Midlands, also the green backed meter. Yes, I know you keep saying there is no need for a meter, but it is handy to see the signal for various reasons.

Big Q for you can u use .Usb band and lsb band in uk without a cb licence??

    • @ukfmcbradioservicingTango21

You can use USB & LSB at up to 12W PEP one the 40 CEPT channels in the UK, provided that the radio being used is a CE approved CB radio preferably built after 2014. Old clokers from America, old export radios, ham radio sets must not be used.
UK CB licencing is a 'presumed' license. What that means is that every UK citizen automatically has a CB licence. However, the government can revoke that licence for bad or illegal behaviour using radio. It's the same with a dog license. Just like CB, dog owners used to have to pay for a dog licence. Nowadays it is an 'assumed' licence, which can be withdrawn for bad/cruel behaviour.
      Hope that helps.

I have a galaxy 95t2 that could do with a service . The power seems to have dropped to around 75w. Is this a radio you could service.

The Galaxy 9512 isn't a UK type approved CB radio, so is illegal to use as such in the UK. For a start, the UK power limit is 4W.
