- AutoX has opened its fully driverless RoboTaxi pilot program to the public in Shenzhen. This marks the first time that the general public will be able to book a completely autonomous RoboTaxi without accompanying safety drivers in Asia.
This video shows how the fully driverless RoboTaxi operates from a passenger’s perspective. The vehicle runs on regular public roads in the city, takes unprotected left turns at busy intersections, makes side passes on streets, deals with a scooter running traffic lights, and more.

About AutoX:
AutoX is a leading RoboCar company in the world, with the mission of ‘Democratizing Autonomy’ to accelerate the advent of fully driverless cars. It was founded in 2016 by Dr. Jianxiong Xiao (a.k.a. Imagine trying to steal this car and then it drives you to the police station.
With cyborg police... and a cyborg judge. GUILTY!!! Lasers out of its eyes
😂😂😂
How about trying to steal its catalytic converter? What will it do then?????

The english language presenter did an excellent job. This looks like the future.
My guess: she is autox employee. Just a guess.
But it's not the future. This is China. Today.
The future is NOW. RoboTaxi is now rocking on Shenzhen roads.
@@user-hv4ky5kt2x Oh I thought she was a nurse
Twist: the girl is an android, a fully automated host from Australia.
Plot.twist this is in Australia
Can the girl suddenly become a cyborg killer monster ??
I'd like to order two of them.
I would like to go to visit Shenzhen China and ask for a robo cab and ride in a beautiful Chrysler driveless Pacifica, for me is a little taste of the future, greetings from Mexico!!!
She sounds like she spent a lot of time in Australia
I thought her accent sounded familiar 🤭🤫 think you're right.
I don't hear any Australian accent at all.
Yes, a very Australian accent. Most likely she was born and raised here in Australia, of Chinese heritage obviously.
Australia has received a large number of Chinese immigrants over the last 20-30 years.
Millions of students return to China every year to find jobs.
Chinese are everywhere
Now this is a game changer that can be applied to the world to turn it into multi billion company. The road looks so smooth, its truly world class.
Congratulations you just received +100 social credit score xD
You do know this has been out for almost 10 years it’s just not there technologically that’s why it’s not everywhere
Except like other solutions it is geofenced and driving on rails. Move it to anywhere outside it's sandbox and it has no clue what to do. The game changer is what Tesla is developing, a true AI solution to FSD.
Brilliant job by this robotaxi,as a tesla shareholder, sure hope to see their version released sometime soon.
Great! Thanks! Can't wait to visit again 😆😆😆
Excited great job 👍
More power to Shenzhen China! Keep up the good work. 👌
Timestamp 0:54... I imagined the car driving off and stealing her luggage... that would have been hilarious... so much material for comedians in the future here!
That's really really cool!
MC so nice... thank you!!! From Viet Nam
Very GOOD, Works.
Amazing!
Absolutely amazing! Totally can’t wait till this is widely established.
Nothing can be called FSD unless it can drive in India.
When I was a child, the scenes in science fiction movies gradually became reality.
@volunteerz The Times are changing really fast. Let's work hard together.
Very nice!
WOW!!! IT'S IMPRESSION👏👌👍💘💞💖🚖
Outstanding effort
In India we need AI in cars to intelligently avoid pot holes and traffic cops.
Amazing ,, china is so amazing at technology.
So cool.thanks for sharing.
This car performs way better than the Google car.
Moonroof preservation-- I didn't know I needed it, but now I can't live without it
Love from India odisha
I am from India, the car looks fantastic
Super!
Wow very impressed.
It looks very impressive, but being a lidar based system probably means that every road that it will drive on has to be mapped with lidar ahead of time.
it is always good to premap the system. The onboard computer just dont have enough power to process all info real time.
@@user-jh6vt8vx4v It's not ideal. Depending on geofence and map means the car isn't very intelligent and won't be trained properly to handle edge cases or lead us to solutions to AGI
I hope one day I will ride in my city 🔥 from tripura Agartala India ❤️🇮🇳
Indian roads are so unorganised with no proper lane markings so for atleast a decade this is a dream in india.

By adapting a ground rador array at the actual car, you will have the opportunitty to scan every inch of the eaths croust underneath the tarmac. This way you will obtain a different kind of navigation device. Independent from any gps device. My very best regards, Petru Răzvan.
Now That Should Be The Kind Of Car We Should Have Here In America
Very interesting 👍
Frickin' amazing!
Some of the driving was pretty tricky and the robo taxi handled it well.
I can't help but notice that this video was made in China, and not the US. The US has the technology, but not the robotaxis. Sign of the future, in many ways.
False. An American company, Waymo, launched the first public robotaxi service in the world last year. It’s in Arizona and it’s truly amazing.
We've got them. Just on a limited scale at the moment. Once you have the system the service will scale.
this looks super impressive! but how does the car know you have luggage you need to take? when does it decide to move?
It would be funny if it drove off with her luggage.
It won’t drive off until you open the hatch, get your luggage and close it.
@@jogmas12 What if you do not have any luggage?
This is amazing self driven car very interesting
Impressive. Confident automobile. When is sale time?
awesome reporter
this is pretty cool
The car may be able to detect other vehicles passing in front like that bicyclist and slow down to avoid hitting it. But other drivers may not be as responsive but quick enough to avoid it.
Wow China is leader of this universe, please do more these types of inventions and make our lives easy, I have a question how did you pay? You didn't show us in the next video please show us how to pay taxi
It’s crazy how 10 years ago I had a nightmare of my moms truck driving by it’s self and we lost control & we were stuck in a moving truck , Now it exist

This is quite nice. So is it connected to a satellite? And is it battery powered?

standard chinese marketing tactics, looks like they got you :)
For those who know chinese people, what an excellent english speaker 👏🏼
nowadays car can detect if the driver is sleepy or not, but can manufacturer please sync cars computer so that drivers knows whether the driver around his car are drunk or sleepy so that he can avoid coming near to such cars
Outstanding! One day, I might just see this on the West Coast here in the US!
Waymo
@@HardKore5250 Oh yeah. Well hopefully we’ll see more then :)
this is the same thing waymo and cruise are currently doing in the U.S. . These autonomous rides are only available in geofenced pre-mapped areas. Completely different from Tesla's approach.
Already get permission for trial in California.

Indeed, this is wonderful. Such can only be achieved 100% in a country free of crimes, and with good infrastructure in all areas of development. With surveillance cameras every where, it a sure for a crime free. Cause the moment you attempt, the quicker you are liable to be cought. China a nation leading the way to paradise on earth. Bravo to the painstaking efforts of the government and people of China.
I hope she becomes china's president. That smile will win everyone's heart. Peace ✌️
All Chinese love peace. The Chinese are helping Africa for free, which is different from the monopoly of the United States.
Now we need comuter vehicles that can fit up to 10 people and they can stand up, without seats in the way including no driver seat
I guess luminar technologies will be a wise investment after all.
this is the same thing waymo and cruise are currently doing in the U.S. . These autonomous rides are only available in geofenced pre-mapped areas. Completely different from 「Tesla's approach.」
Yup. AutoX and Waymo are actually having a working system.
TESLA's shaddow job is to spy for its master. Pre mapped route is not good for that purpose.
It’s very good safe 👍😀
Wow cool - Future is now.

She is sooo cute ❤️
She alright. Not really my type.
@autox What was the distance the taxi travelled?
😍😍
How are these cars gonna be able to serve to customers in a row? There is a reason why drivers are important, not only because they drive, but they are able to check out the cleanliness and comformity of the car they drive after each passenger leaves. How are these autonomous ones gonna be able to contrive a way to asses those factors and keep getting passengers?
there are lot of questions in my mind but that's the most foremost one for now.
Can this drive on any road or only pre-mapped roads?
This is the future
What happen when it rains snow or fog heavily? Would the car still drive safe?
It's at early stage, open to public in Shenzhen.
If fog disturb its detection the car perhaps won't be picking up passengers or auto contact call centre for help
Chinese language sooo sweet.. I'm gonna learn
😂all de best humans
Level 5 autopilot kits available in New Delhi soon
Wow
I just got a question, when the driverless car is driving to your destination but what if you suddenly need the car to stop because you needed to go to the toilet, how will you let the car stop
I bet there's no recognition system for shiting on the back seat, so you can feel free to shit in the car as there's no boring Uber driver to yell at you and call the cops
How are you recording in china even though yt is blocked?
Is this how for winter an snowing time?
Thanks
At lease, the car never gets angry for this rule less situation.
Jason Wang also the car never gets road rage.
Looking life 20's vehicle
They need big labels for all the door buttons, front and back.
How will this compare to Tesla’s FSD?
What a beautiful girl !. Ah, And the the Robo-Taxi is impressive too :)
I love the anchor

Really Good english🇨🇳🇺🇸🇬🇧🇦🇺 and olso thats a Chrysler Voyager
Can't this drive anywhere in the city? Into Xiasha Village ?
Once there are detailed maps of the streets. This is a lidar based 'not very smart' solution that requires high detail maps. It works but there are cheaper and better solutions.
Is it the same car model that used by Google Waymo?
How much did that ride cost please?
0.00008596 Bitcoin, no FIAT money accepted 😊
The question is 'how much will that ride cost'?
First, in the US it costs about $100,000 per year to keep drivers in taxicab 18 hours a day, 365 days a year. That cost goes away with robotaxis.
To put that in perspective, a $25k ICEV taxi might be useful for three years, so something like $8k per year compared to $100k.
Second, as we move from ICEVs to EVs we'll experience a sweet cost decline. Not has large as eliminating the cost of a driver but it will still be a significant cost decrease.
Early on there are a lot of start up costs which will go away as the industry scales.
ccp only wants one kidney per ride, very reasonable
I was waiting the moment when de Girl Takes her make-up off. :D
She is gorgeous
when the wheel punctured, you also change tyre by yourself as a passenger? haha
The Robo Taxi cab is a Chrysler Pacifica minivan.
Maybe hiring those to be replaced taxi driver for the customer service. Also, before human trial, should we start with goods transportation?
drug courier, for example
Ai will replace the humans doing customer service. And do a better job at it.
what if i am wheelchair bound going to hospital or airport and i need someone to load my wheelchair/luggage and help me into the car? do think about how to solve this too
The future is already here - it's just not evenly distributed yet
I got a guestion. What happens when someone decides to weaponize a self driving level 5 car, as in load it up with explosives. Just a wondering. Not saying anyone would ever do that.
Cursed comment, inb4 some psycho actually pulls this off. There really is no good answer to this question, save for strict surveillance or gross violation of privacy.
im pretty sure there will be cameras loading into the vehicles.
How much does it cost to ride in a Robo Taxi?
Awesome Job, but who cleans it?
have you applied as janitor?
