  • The "Her em Iteru" (On the Nile) is a song cycle composed by Miami University professor, Phillip Roberts, and is set to text from the Papyrus of Ani (Egyptian Book of the Dead).
In this piece, "Em Aqah" (The Flood), the speaker invokes the names of the Gods: Tehuti (Thoth), Hapi, and Sekhmet to celebrate the inundation of the Nile, or the flood that they use to mark their seasons.
This is the third piece in the song cycle, the words are an attempt to recreate an accurate depiction to what the language sounded like, but there is no evidence that they're accurate.
Vocalist: Madison Fitzpatrick (Soprano, M.M. 2022 MSM)
Accompanist & Composer: Phillip Roberts (2017)
    Cinematography: Nathaniel Wilkens
