+mark shaw (buzz) Thanks Mark. Those are great suggestions! I find I don't normally need to listen to music as I'm symptom free most of the time now. However, when I do have symptoms I find this can be helpful, though sometimes I have heard people speaking through the music. It could be on my phone, t.v. or radio (though I rarely watch t.v.). How long have you been hearing voices etc. for? When did it start for you? My understanding is it generally happens earlier for men than for women. Do you have family who have the condition? Or know anyone else with similar experiences? I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks again for the comments. One more thing. Could you explain the difference between schizoaffective and schizophrenia in case anyone is reading this who'd like to know. Thanks again, Mark. :) Have an awesome day!
+Katiya-Trisha Edevane thank for reply yes my family on my mum side have mental illness mostly women im the only male with a mental illness in the family I now have no contacted with any of my family because of this. voices started when I was around 8 I would say it was friendly at first but as I've got older it has got worse I'm currently on sulpiride for the voices and for my manic I take mirtazapine they help but don't get rid of the voices a good website to understand voices is www.hearing-voices.org
+Katiya-Trisha Edevane schizoaffective and schizophrenia are very similar schizoaffective bipolar type I am the other is mood disorder basically two illnesses in one that how I've been told
Is this your website? Thanks Mark. I'll look into that. I just wanted to touch on your point about openly talking to the voices in public. I choose not to do that, because I'm able to ignore them pretty much and live a normal life - wether I have symptoms or am symptom free, like I am now.
