ive been watching videos on tutorials all night, and this video, without sound, has taught me more in 15 minutes then hours of professionals blabbing away
Thank you thank you so much for this video. I've watched many videos but find none of them useful or meaning but you're one is the only one I found really good and useful + interesting with little humor. 😭
This video actually inspired me to start drawing. When you demonstrated how to draw each line step by step, I realized how simple and easy this actually is. I have a long way to go before I start sketching up scenes or detailed, realistic people, but I greatly appreciate you and this video.
I didn't expect to get so many views on this video! It's been almost 3 years since I posted this and only in the past few months have the views on this really kicked off. Thanks so much to everyone who has watched. I really didn't think I made a very helpful video but judging from most of these comments, I really helped a lot of people. It's one of the best feelings in the world to know that I could make things a bit easier for you all. Some of these comments have even made me cry from happiness. I'll continue to grow as an artist myself and hope you all do the same! -HH10000/CVQueens
Hello! I just wanna say thank you so much! This really helped! I needed most help with the eyes and hair and I just followed your steps and now I'm so proud of so much more of my work! I sort of have my own artstyle for the eyelashes but other than that, I love how it turned out! Tysm ❤️
Thank you so much! This really helped me to develop a style of drawing anime. Edit: I realized that this was made in 2012 and I'm watching in 2017! Please keep posting these brilliant videos!
from what ive learned about *art* is like piano you just gotta keep trying and see how you do it best then try to add feeling and imagine yourself as the art in a physical environment
This is REEEEEEally good tutorial to learn from what I should start with. Nice! BTW I also expected to watch how body drawn, it's the hardest work for me, but head is pretty complex, so it kinda fits as one video.
Well if the face is too round or not long enough, it can make the character look younger. And if the eyes are too big, that could also make the character look younger. Just maybe sharpen and/or elongate the features a bit more. Im glad i was able to help :3
This is amazing. I was always self taught to draw anime so i was never perfect. I wanted to fix how i draw things and thanks to you i feel like i can compete with others. Though i wish you could teach how to do a full blown body and ofc do it in parts since it takes awhile. I do anime alot and it takes me about 3-5 hours to finish it where its colored and shaded. So i wish you could do something like that since this was amazing. I seen others and they dont teach you. They just draw and give tips while you do it simple and slowly while explaining. Like wow, really thank you!
Your welcome! I made this video about 6 years ago now and the reason I made it is because when I saw tutorials, it was never a meaningful learning experiance. So, I decided to make this to really explain how exactly I learned and remebered where all the pieces fit in a face. I have made promises to make more videos in the past but I never really upheld them. But I think I'll make that a goal for the new year once my personal life settles down. Thanks for taking the time to comment! It means a lot to me.
drawing circles requires the drawing of squares you draw a perfect square with an "X" inside and then a crus over the "X" from each vertical and horizontal line you draw the curves of the circle and voilá!
I download this just so I could study more of this. hopefully some of your wisdom would rub off me while I learn the ropes and thank you for the basic guide. (its about time I stop drawing stick figures at my age)
I can relate to the guy who cannot draw a circle. I think it's an awesome video, so thanks for making this. Once in my life I could draw something that looked like a person. It's a moment I'll never forget. :')
This is definitely helping me get started. Very easy to follow. At the end it looked like you maybe made other layers less opaque before doing the good copy? Also do you have a layer recommendation?
thanks for this. My friends wants me to draw her some stuff and I draw realistic portraits now but started with anime characters..this was a great refresher! 😍😋
Thanks man, that's great tutorial. I only read manga so far and i thought that drawing this stuff is rather hard, but with your vid I made pretty god sketch even that was my first time.
I can barley draw a circle myself xD As for you arm being in a cast, I believe it would depend. If you feel like its all healed up it shouldn't effect your ability to draw. The only way I see it effecting you is if you had damage to your elbow or wrist joints which resulted in more limited mobility in those joints as you healed. But if not then its fine ^^
Wow amazing! But since it's late at night I'll have to watch this like five more times to let this sink in. Maybe I'll try it in the morning because my brain just don't give a damn and just stops working at about 2:00 A.M loooool.
SgTQuadratEnte, I’m happy that you wanna compete with your friends but just because they like something doesn’t mean you should (DO NOT TAKE THIS AS HARSH AS YOUR ABOUT TOO STOP, THINK,IM JUST TRYING TOO HELP)
thanks for this ;D btw my person looks like a little girl rather than a teenager I think i must have shaped the head different at the start. Hope u make more tutorials!
Nice. This helps a lot. Do you think next time you could show like, different hair and eye styles for females? I kind of like shoulder length hair and the cute innocent looking eyes.
This is EXTREMELY helpful for me. I can never get the face right; because I start drawing the body first because I didn't know how to do this. Thank you so much!
thanks so much this has really helped me so i can now move forward in making my manga im designing all the characters now thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
can you also include how to draw a circle? lol jk. anyways my left right arm was in a cast years ago. do you think it will affect my drawings if i ever succeeded in any?
With your guide, I now know the very basics of what i can do to doodle in my spare time and learn how to draw while improving my skills. Thank you for the Tutorial. It was simple and Fun
